People around you really makes the difference, I've lived on the poorest parts of Manila but to me as a child where everyone everybody is poor nobody is.
I totally get your point, as I came from a very poor family myself. We never had a lot, but it was an incredible childhood that I remember with such warmth. We climbed trees, played hide and seek, laughed, cried, and just had a great time. I understand what you mean when you say that people make a difference. In fact, it’s all that matters, and it will always be that way. I’m really grateful for this “poor” childhood because it taught me a lot, and I’m sure you feel the same way ❤️

Just you know,,,, Balut is an aphrodisiac. They sell it in the evening, vendors stay in one place but most of them roam around the streets and yell BAAA-LUUUT. Then morning comes,, there’s another one,,,TAHO. it’s a warm soft bean curd with caramel and boba pearls . The vendor roams around the streets only early morning around 6am.
Honestly Balut is really good, same for Adobo , The Philippines is my favorite place in the world, I visit Tondo manila a lot and visit with my family who lives there . Good video Po
The store vendor here 14:19 is giving you a heads up to avoid kids who approach you because those kids approaching people and asking for money most not all them but most they just buy for drugs or some bad things so it's a thumbs up for that lady vendor

Balut is very popular exotic food here in the phillipines. you felt awkward when you ask for balut and they are laughing maybe because they can't speak In English. Most of filipinos are very shy to speak in english because we're scared to deliver a wrong grammar. By the way Sorry for my English too.😅 Im just trying to explain the scenario. i would prefer a Penoy rather than Balut coz i dont eat balut because of the tittle bird it still the different procedure to cook 😁😁😁 as many filipino dont like balut but mostly of alcohol drinker want it i only eat in balut the yellow one the bird and the white one which just like a rock dont eat the white in balut it just a rocky thing hehehe
