Liszt himself would comment to anyone playing it too fast, "there you go, mixing salad again". At the correct speed this should take approx. 4 minutes. Checked with the authentically inspired Wolfgang Weller UA-cam recording and that is a few seconds under 4 minutes. No "mixing salad" there.

I found myself here after talking about Liszt Gnomenreigen etude, with someone I met on a game. I don't have much knowledge about classical music, but I enjoy listening to it. But this method makes it very enjoyable for me to watch every movement, as well. As someone whom doesn't play instruments, this is super impressive.
It's crazy how talented you are, you deserve way much more recognition in my opinion. Incredible job as always. This is basically the skill level I can only dream of, keep doing what you do ❤

Actually it’s not as hard as some of Liszt’s other etudes but when it is near perfection it sounds a lot harder than it really is. (Sorry traum I can’t call you perfect because of the grace notes)

A very underrated piece, not only in popularity, not only in terms of popularity, but also in terms of difficulty... This piece, is even probably, more difficult than "The Campanella" Currently, I'm playing the campanella, and though it was difficult, wasn't so difficult as I thought

Oh yes Very nice piece. When I heard it first it was very early in my piano journey so I didn't understand most of liszt and didn't like this piece at all. But after 1 year I began listening to more music and really liked this piece and liszt became my favorite composer:)

Any chance you can attempt liszt transcendental etude no.4 1838 version? No you tubers are successful in playing it near original tempo, your skill should be more than sufficient enough for it

I love how you interpreted this piece, but my teacher blamed me for playing at such a speed cuz she said dwarfs can run only at a certain speed😂

It’s about DipABRSM level. Henle rates it 7/9 in difficulty.
