- The Hidden Blade in every Assassins Creed Game, not all AC games allow you to do this, Ubisoft got rid of Blade attacks after AC Rogue so that is why Unity, Syndicate, Origins, Odyssey & Valhalla are missing.

So watching this video made something click in my head. I was reading the codex pages and Altaïr modified the hidden blade so you can use it in combat. I forgot about that when playing origins. Which was a reason I wasn’t a fan of every game past unity. Now I guess lore wise I can really only hate on unity and syndicate for that lol
Technically Altãir only modified it for not sacrificing ur ring finger, to me anyway combat with the hidden blade depends on its user. Since In AC 1 Altãir can fight with the hidden blade using counters, Ezio with Leonardo's help made the brave metal for it to deflect off the guards swords. Got no idea for the others but im guessing is the same
@@five2019 Arno is using a modified version called the Phantom blade that has a mechanism that launches the blade. I guess that's the reason why he doesn't fight with it it could damage the device.
Connors blade is the most unique I feel, had a mechanism which allowed him to freehand the weapon like when he harvest animals

@@VivekSharma-sn7hlBlades after the Altair era are modified with a different trigger mechanism so they can be further from the arm itself and not slice your ring finger off when deployed. Because a whole secret murderer organization having the same disfigurement is a horribly impractical idea. Blade punching people also just isn't very stealthy though.

I always love in ac1, since altier doesn't have his ring finger, he just closes his fist and let's the blade through where his finger would have been, but everyone else keeps open hands to keep away from the blade (minus connor who puts his fists outsidethe blades)
well open hand allows more of the blade length to be usable. Bit more awkward in combat though, as you have to treat it like an awkward dagger parallel to your arm instead of basically just punching people but with blades.
Also why wearing the blade above your arm instead of beneath is very counterintuitive and why imo Bayek can't be blamed for the misconception.
@@natchu96yea having it above your wrist would make it awkward. I've measured it before and you'd need the blade to be at least 20cm to kill someone if you put it above your wrist cos it needs to be longer than your fist, whereas if you put it under your wrist you can get away with it being only 10cm for stealth kills only instead of using it for combat. Then with it being above your wrist it'd be a weird push blade but since it's attached to the wrist by a bracer the punch won't be as powerful and you'd need the bracer to be extremely tight or it'd move and won't work as well, then half the blade would do nothing because your fist would be in the way, then at that point you might as well make it a proper wrist sword instead of a skinny little blade that breaks from a direct sword hit.

@@natchu96having the blade above your arm means you need a longer blade which wouldnt be as secure at the base and would still be awkward if ur trying to grab onto someone the only way to use it is by punching

Fun fact : if you hold the button for the hidden blade you can walk with it opened . They ruined it in unity and beyond

Seriously how long was ezio blades😂😂 sheesh, idk about the others but in AC Black flag when you hold square that is Deploy hidden blade the blade stays as long as you keep the button held, i used to run while holding square and it would look so cool😂
AC2 to AC Rogue everyone could keep their blades exposed while pressing square. Ezio's were the longest, Brotherhood by far. They were wrist swords 😂
Ezio's blades have additional guard for the blades itself, so that he doesn't accidentally cut off his finger, which theoretically he can wield blades just like Altair does.

my best guess is that with the equipping system change in unity, it just didn't make much sense to add it. Also may be because of how every game after rogue only has one hidden blade as opposed to two (no idea as to why)

I think I like Connor’s the best due to the adaptive fighting style he can use with it.
Liberation has a goated hidden blade animation. With the flick of the wrists and her wriggling her fingers a little. Looks great.

That's cause kassandra isn't an assassins/hidden 1. Th guild didn't yet formally exist, it was founded by bayek n his wife, who is a descendant of kassandra, centuries later. It's an inconic tool, but it's not like all th assassins used it in th old games, just th protagonists did

Now, I do like the idea that the hidden blade should only be used as a stealth weapon, not in combat.
But just because I like the idea, doesn't mean it's the best thing to do, right? You lose more than you gain.
That's the problem with Ubi taking the hidden blade out of the weapon roster and making it into a (let's be honest) gimmick. It just gives you certain looking stealth takedown animations and that's it, it's meaningless.
I really hope Ubi brings back the hidden blade in Mirage as an equippable weapon. But they should make it like it was in AC 1: You can't directly attack with it, only counter attack. And the timing is MUUUUCH tighter than with any other weapon, but it is an instant kill.
YES i live how the hidden blade was just a tool like sword, expecialy in ac3 u could just selext sword and dont use it. In new ac games its literally an animation, expecialy in origins, where the no hidden blade takedown was almost the same thing as the one with hidden blade.

They got shorter. It being shorter is actually more usable in more urban enviornments. It being so long would mean u would need to bring ur arm really far back to shank someone
is it just me or did anyone else never get a chance to use the poison blade cause you cant jump on the targets like a normal hidden blade allows😭

I know this is for hidden blades that can show manually in. Game but arno evie and Jacob can also reveal their blades just in the inventory onlu. For arno just equip a bracer and go full screen, as for the twins you can only see the blades by euipping a gauntlet

It still to this day amazes me how a billionaire company can fuck things up so badly, and yes I'm still salty they concluded a story ark in a comic and didn't say anything about that in the games at all and swept that shit under the rug, and kept doing unnecessary game mechanic changes that really changed the dynamic of the game

Rouge sounds wrong but in a good way story wise you wouldn’t expect a Templar to have a hidden blade let alone two not as keep sakes but as a tool and the way they sound they sound like they’re not in the best of condition somewhat like a disrespect of the blades and the creed
