Waikiki Surf and Fun Day

Waikiki is still my favorite place to go and soak up the energy of tourists learning to surf for the first time. The enthusiasm of young surfers ripping up the the inside waves, of surfing contests, and of sun and sand can't be beat.

Music and surf footage was great, It doesn't have to be all great surfers riding the biggest waves. This is how we all started, and how some of us still surf! Only we dont have the beautiful blue water here in NY....

I grew up in NY, surfed there mid-late 60's - Gilgo, Long Beach, occasionally out east. First standing wave in LB, will never forget. Moved to Kaua`i in 75 and first O`ahu. Second day there rented a board - wow, could see my feet dangling off the board, could see the bottom, could smell plumeria and pineapple out in the water. Only surf small waves and, if I get a few, call my gf and say 'get ready honey I'm coming home stoked'.

This exemplifies what’s so great about longboards and nose riders, everyone can do it, no special skills required. Plus it enables crummy waves to be ridden. Turn disappointment into fun. Awesome boards.

How great it looks from the outside watching people enjoying what I've experienced ! The love of the ocean. Let's all do are part to protect it. Pollution should all ways be a subject for us all to do our part. So these type of activities can be appreciated by all.

Waikiki has always been a fun place to go to day and night. One of My favorite surfing memory was surfing at night on a full moon.

I am learning toom I recommend u mark where to jump up n practice jumping up on bed. That is what I did. Paddle with 1 arm at a time. Try to be careful of board near tocks. Maybe move over a bit or tey to grab it under water but I woukd struggle with that as you must cover head under water as get up. Cover head at all times if away from board
