Edinburgh Castle is pretty big inside. It is expensive but in my opinion is worth it. If you're in Edinburgh in November or December they open the castle up at night with illuminations. You should look up some videos about the Edinburgh Military Tattoo - that's what all the stands of seats at the Castle Esplanade are for. The New College Building was the home of the Scottish Parliament between 1999 and 2004, while they waited for Holyrood to be built. The whole area around the Royal Mile is the Old Town. everything on the other side of the rail station is the New Town. The human oddity was the lady with all the piercings - she's got more piercings that anyone else in the world, literally! I used to work for VisitScotland, loved my job there! You can climb up the Scott monument, the view is fantastic! Jenners was a department store (I worked for them too, but after they became House of Fraser).
If you like to visit castles and historic houses, posh and otherwise, membership of the Scottish National Trust and/or Scottish Heritage (which runs Edinburgh and Stirling Castles, for example) organisations could be good value for you. They have reciprocal free visiting agreements with the similar organisations in England and Wales too. Tourists can buy short term memberships, so they can visit as many of the hundreds of properties as they like for no further charge.
EDDY IN EDINBURGH AH CANNA WAIT. Could relate to your video watching you walk the streets I've walked. You're guaranteed more Scottish subscribers for your time and effort bringing travelogue content from Scotland 🏴
You have a great positive vibe and energy about you Eddy. If I knew you were coming to Edinburgh, I would happily have drove you about. You are more than welcome to Scotland anytime.
Those green areas are the end of the princessteet gardens if you walk down to the start it has fountain and big public areas looking directly up at castle
Could not have picked a better word for it, can't beat a wee (GALAVANT) eddybhoy 👍 Really glad you enjoyed our city mate, & you seemed to appreciate the history 👍 See at 9,27 when you got to the top the stairs, thts where they shot a famous scene for avengers infinity War, (we will deep fry your kebab) look it up mate, lol You will need to give me a shout the next time you are in Edinburgh mate, & we can meet up for a teacake, & I can give you a wee tour of all the tucked away wee gems Edinburgh has to offer 👍

Hey Eddy my Scottish history goes right back hundreds of years. A member of my family heritage Captain Jack Paton. Is mentioned on a memorial in Edinburgh. He was held in Edinburgh castle before being one of the last prisoners hung, in a public hanging. His crime was his beliefs and religion. He was awarded the title of Captain by the king of England for fighting for him in various battles. However he later had to fight against the English. Because of his beliefs and that of the Presbyterian movement.
So glad you finally made it to Edinburgh😁 You were so lucky because the rain has been relentless here for about a week. You calling everything a castle was hilarious😂 Walking in Edinburgh will keep you fit, all hilly af😣😂 lots of hidden closes and underground vaults as well. You need to come for Derby day Hearts v Hibs for your football vlog. Much love as always Eddy💙🏴
What a lovely trip to Eddyburgh! Nice footage of Birmingham at the beginnning, but I think my favourite part was Eddy with the Piper. Hope Eddy never took that personality test though - I think he would probably break their machine! All the best from a wee sassenach ... 😊
I used to work for a company doing "Safety at Height". I had to go on Edinburgh Castle roof though the attic to check all the safety equipment on it. Great day
The guy Tom is dedicated to Tam Gilzean. He sat up near the castle for years on his wheelchair in his old uniform. Over the years he raised more than one million from the pennys dropped in his tin. He died age 99 about 5 years ago.
Finally made it then big yin. Hope you planned several days, If your having lunch during the day take it up Calton Hill you can see it when you walked out train station or further more Arthur Seat. Takes abut 30 minutes
Glad you enjoyed Edinburgh, there’s so much more of the place for you to see so defo get yourself back there soon. Would recommend going to wings just off the royal mile for some banging cheap scran.
Great to see you enjoyed the capital, Edinburgh is one of the most historical cities on earth. Almost everything you walked past has history stories. There are a lot of tours you can take around the place and the underground city called “Mary Kings Close” where people used to be put that had the plague. Honestly man look at all the tours when you next visit. And a good place to eat with good prices, Good quality and decent amounts is called George IV. It’s a pub/restaurant which had been there for hundreds of years that still has the original layout sort of thing. And for great views you got the Deans Village, Carlton Hill, Arthur Seat etc. Anyways brother great video and hope you come back again 😁 👍🏻
The area between the Castle and Palace is part of Edinburgh Old Town, this dates back to medieval times hence some of the ancient looking buildings. Glasgow sprang up as a city much later, so the sort of architecture you saw in Glasgow is more akin to Edinburgh New Town which is on the Princes Street side that you visited later. They started building the New Town around 280 years ago, so it's only "new" in relation to the Old Town. By the way, Jenners isn't a hotel, it's a department store, the Harrods of Edinburgh. I'm glad you enjoyed your visit, well worth you and your good lady making a trip for a few days and seeing a bit more of the city. One thing to bear in mind if you do decide to make that trip. Avoid August, unless you have very deep pockets. The Edinburgh Festival takes place in August, the biggest arts festival in the World. There is so much going on during that period and as a resident of Edinburgh there are so many great events taking place to suit all tastes. However, for a tourist there are two main drawbacks... 1. The city is rammed with tourists, if you think it was busy on your trip, then multiply that by 5 at least 2. Accommodation costs go through the roof because of the huge demand. Room rates will easily increase by 3-4 times or more.

Don't forget to say hello to the homeless as well Eddy, they appreciate it more than people walking about,it makes them feel more human instead of having people look at anywhere but at them, just a thought for you to consider.
