The BMW M4 Is The First Step To Getting A Porsche 911

- The BMW M4 and the Porsche 911 aren't really direct competitors but it seems like one is more of a natural progression to the other. And by that i mean a progression from the BMW M4 into a Porsche 911. Many BMW M4 owners generally move into Porsche 911's when they're ready to move on. Why is that?
The BMW M4 has been around a couple years now and its a wonderful car. The front end looks have grown on some people paired with amazing driving dynamics, the BMW M4 presents a compelling package if one was looking for a sporty coupe that could be driven on a daily basis.
The Porsche 911 has also been around for a while, 60+ years and it to is a remarkable machine. It still mostly looks the same as what it did 60 years ago but still managed to look modern and put up performance thats eye opening.
Now, why is it that many BMW owners gravitate towards Porsche? Not sure but im going to attempt to figure that out in this video.

Which would you pick? M4 or 911?
Great video! I have owned a 2015 M4 and now have a 2020 992. Your 4 reasons for the choice were spot on! I got my 911 when I could afford it, didn’t wanna jump from lancer evo to Ferrari. Keep up the great vids!
@krisjohnson2435 Appreciate the kind words and the super thanks. How are you liking your 992?
@@DriveSteadyI love it! By far the best car I ever owned. Best way I can describe it is, “An effortless sports car”. It drives great and does most of the work itself. Felt drivingvv the M4 was “meaner” and lots of fun, but really enjoying the better built car.
@krisjohnson2435 hope you continue to enjoy in good health.
great review and comparision ! like your car reviews, very fundamental and detailed. keep up the good work !
Thanks
Thanks!
I went from a G82 comp with the ultimate pack in to a 992 S as a daily. Totally agree on the bucket seats, look amazing and fairly comfortable once in but as I daily I got to the point of dreading getting in and out of it. M4 had all the tech but for me the PDK and the engine note sets the cars apart. The M4 inside the cabin sounded fake to me, the squeaky brakes were annoying and the side on profile could be mistaken for a normal 4 series. Brand snobbery definitely plays a factor but the 911 is iconic and there is certainly more of a wow factor when you put your foot down. Great video!
Really don’t think BMW see it like that sunbeam!
basic models, daily vs sport comparison, straight to the point, great review!
Great video, and excellent comparison. The M4 is plush and fast, but at the end of the day it’s a sporty car. The 911 is less comfortable but more serious and is a sports car through and through without the compromises of an M4 and it’s shared car platform. Both are excellent choices, my choice has always been the 911 or cayman but I wouldn’t complain about driving an M4 either.
What a pity testing those incredible cars on a straight street!,
Wish I had a track but most people are going to drive in the city setting
911 no Brainer unless you really need the greater usability, actually costs you less since the depreciation rate is significantly lower

These two cars are aimed at different markets, so not sure why thy the comparison. Also, these cars shine on fast, flowing country roads, so doing a review on straight suburban roads seems pointless to me. I'm a 911 and M3 owner so I understand these cars, and driving them in this way makes no sense to me. Just my $0.02 as always. Not right or wrong.
