I spent hours trying to import my long contacts list from WLM to Outlook and was getting very frustrated! This tutorial was so easy to follow and I had my contacts successfully imported within minutes. Thank you so much!
NICE!!! This was SO easy - THANK YOU! The latest version of Outlook already has the street, city, state , email etc populated in the destination so there was no need to "click and drag" during the final steps! Can't wait to see what other Microsoft pearls you have!
Melissa - You are very easy to follow. My end goal is to create a texting group without having to build it manually. I volunteered to help someone create this group, but now I'm struggling. I created the CSV and pulled it in, but I didn't see a way to store the new group separately. It also didn't give me the option to manually map it. I'm on the desktop version of Outlook. Is it only possible on the web version of Outlook? Thanks.
Thank you! I loved that we wiped out, made a few mistakes, more true to life ;) good for learning!
hi, when i go to mapping on the left handside it doesnt look like yours where i can drag and drop on to the right hand side. it looks like: name, email, cell number. so when i select it copies that whole line
This is so spot one, Melissa! Thanks for such a detailed and quick tutorial on how to import contacts!
This video helped me alot thank you so much. I wanted to import gmail contact to outlook but it did't show the name and email in the contact folder. then I tried your method and it saved me 😊
I really enjoyed your laid back presentation and, being from Texas, I appreciate your accent! (finally someone I can understand who isn't mirroring video game graphics to amp up their presentation. I only wish your screen were clearer. It is very "soft" and unfocused. Otherwise perfect. Keep up the great work!
Hello! It is in HD (1080) so I'm not sure what is unfocused. I will look into it but it might be on your side.
Thank you for this video. You saved me so much time.
Thank you! I'm glad it helped!
You are an excellent instructor!

HELP! When it comes to mapping, all the values are together. It's email;name;etc and I can only assort it to one catagory. help?
The same thing happened to me :(
I found solutions for this problem. Settings- Region and Language - Customize Format - List separator: should here is the sign: , I had a semicolon there ;
Hi Melissa, very helpful video! I'm looking to create a Power Automated workflow to help manage the Contacts and Distribution Lists for work, but I haven't been able to find any Power Automate videos importing data from Excel into Outlook Contacts. Do you maybe have some tips for how I can get started?
Thank you very much!
Thank you! Glad it was helpful!
Hi; Everything is clear and well explained, but I don't know how to import contacts because my outlook is 2021 and it is different. Could you help me with this matter ?
very helpful, thank you
Gr8 😊😊😊
How do I make sure, the imported list is a separate list if I don't want to mix it up with my other contacts?
Great video. But does this create a distribution list so I can email all those persons at once?
Hello! No, but it can be done. I will get a tutorial out on how to do this as soon as I can.
This is great, but I am having trouble with one thing. I have added my own custom fields to Outlook Contacts and I do not see them pop up when mapping the categories from my CSV to my Excel sheet. Is there a way to fix/ overcome this?
to whom ho has only one row at outlook's mapping window like as 'name, email, cell number etc.'
Open your .csv file in Word. Do you see millions of ; instead of , (comma) ? This is the reason that I personally found. Replace all ; marks with , because outlook doesn't recognize ; mark. Save your file and try to import again. My one worked well.
Hi, I get through to the wizard but Map is grayed out and everything is frozen from that point on. Help please--I have Outlook 365
Are you using 365 online?
yes@@MelCompton
My ceviche only has email addresses, no names. This doesn’t work
