@Wheels thanks for the extended highlights the TV dropped espn in the UK we only get TNT. We don't have much baseball played over here but love watching the kids , and boy are they getting good . Cheers from Lancashire, UK

@@kennethlopez6527 Yes, they cover Canadian sports only. LLWS is an American sport. Sometimes these sports channels will pick up a game but not the entire series.
in LL, they always give the kids more leeway on the sides of the plate. sometimes too much, but that is what they are told to do. they should only be giving a ball width off the plate, not a foot off the plate.
im so tired of the off strike zones in little league. Just make the Home plate bigger in little league so the umps can actually have a consistent strike zone man
Making it bigger means the kids have to swing out further than normal. The problem is they want the kids to swing which I am on with, but making them swing at bad pitches hurts them in the long run. Also the pitchers need to earn their strikes.
6:57 This pitch was a strike, at this age for some kids, it is difficult to hold the ball in the inside corner but if you pause the video at the time the ball passes over the home plate it is the correct call. Ughfull but correct.
So let's have you volunteer! Those umps work they're asses off since February/March just so some puke watching on his tv can gripe. I did it for 12 years. Went to umpire school, had to pass written and field tests for mechanics. Grow up and do something other than whine, make the situation better.

@@JoelOswald yeah these double elimination tournaments are tough when it comes to pitching.. if you only have 1 ace and then 2 b level pitchers then it’s gonna be very hard - ya gotta stay in the winners bracket
Have to win 2 games without their #1. Not going to happen. They've managed to keep him eligible for the big games, but now is when it really gets tested.
@@brianmeen2158 yep, going to be ineligible to pitch until Sunday which would be the championship game. But they got through the West because he shut down the Eastvale team who was clearly the #1 team in that region, but they went up against the best pitcher in that region.
I love all the parents booing the strike out at 6:57 .....the ball came straight across the plate....literally couldnt have been a better pitch...kid was just scared of the ball
Yes the ump was trash I’ll get it out of the way. Man if Hawaii is gonna pull this out someone besides Tavares has gotta step up for them cause Florida, Texas, and of course Nevada will eat them alive.
One of the many reasons i gave up on baseball 40 years ago was the lack of consistency in behind the plate umpires. They are simply horrible. Sorry for the kids who have to experience the lack of professionalism by the umps. Great game by the players though. Peace Out.
I miss the older days with those compilations being 50 minutes long nowadays we will be lucky to have a 5 minute video, it’s the bats and talent that have gone downhill that accounts for the lack of dingers
Think u could umpire better. Its much harder then u think. Its always inconsistent, theyre kids. At this lvl they should llook to swing at anything thats close. My pops umped. He always wanted the kids aggressive, but swinging close, not at shit pitches. He called anything withiin a fist size, a strike if it was regularly put there. Knees to letters on the jersey. Every zone differs he said. Plus, theyre kids, cant be too picky. These kids are throwing over 70 sometimes 80, which is like MLB reaction times. Equivalent to 99mph, thats a reaction time, the Umpire has to make as well. I think they did great. People complain too much
Not at all. Just because the pitcher missed his spot, doesn’t mean it’s not a strike. Right at the knees and MAYBE a marginal amount inside. Swing the bat
To me, where it crossed the plate looked like a good pitch, yeah the catcher made an awkward catch, it landed low & inside, it came from a lanky lefty pitcher so it’s gonna come at an angle to the batter & it feels like it’s gonna hit you or be inside. #8 could of turned on it. I feel for the kid, it was a good run PA.

Little league umpires are terrible. You telling me at the highest level of little league, they cant bring in legit umpires that can have consistent strike zones..!!! Smh
Probably since they will be facing FL's ace without their ace. Plus batting 13 instead of 12 is tough. It just makes it that much harder to get back to the top of the lineup so that your 1--5 hitters can get another at bat.

I hate to criticize the folks who volunteer to umpire, but I gotta say, you're absolutely right. It was pretty brutal to watch at times.
Brutal
The kids deserve a proper strike zone especially at this level like come on
Hard enough to hit at that distance. Let alone having the Grand Canyon as a strike zone.
I've noticed this all tournament. Kids throwing the equivalent of 100 mph and you gotta protect the pitch in the opposite batters box. Crazy.
yall are acting like it was outrageous....the vast majority were perfectly fine...even the commentators said the calls were consistent lmao
