An automatic chicken door was the best investment we ever made! It saves so much time too. My husband would let them out in the morning and I got to put them to bed at night after dark out in the middle of the orchard. I did not enjoy that chore at all! It didn't take the chickens long to figure it out. I have little chics again and they are just starting to get their feathers (a couple weeks younger than yours) Can't wait till I have my own eggs again!

I'm a little confused if you leave the door open all the time why would you need a chicken run door opener ? Just wondering about thet otherwise I think this is a great idea. Thanks for sharing

I don't leave the door open all the time. It opens in the morning and closes at night. It provides security for them at night, but in the daytime, they can come and go to the closed in area what their roost and nesting boxes are.
