Sheep breads i got fiber from:
    1. Norsk Pelssau (note the double “s”)
The Norsk Pelssau is Norway’s only longwool. It is always grey albeit in varying shades, with color nuances and variations in the spectrum. It’s based in the Gotland breed, but was blended with Spælsau many years ago, which means it tends to be a bit finer and have more luster than Gotland. It behaves like a usual longwool and makes a lovely albeit slightly hairy lace
    2. Gammelnorsk sau
This breed is also known as villsau, ursau, and utegående sau among other terms. In English, that translates loosely to wild sheep, prehistoric/ancient sheep, and “sheep that are always outside”; there’s no good translation for that last term, I’m afraid. This is the oldest of all the breeds, and the one which was used for the Viking sails.
    Wool soaps:
    Favorite: www.eucalan.co...
    Another kind: www.amazon.com...
Cappucino blend to add to your coffe or sprinkle on top:
    1 cup hot chocolate powder
    1 cup of vanilla sugar(powder)
    1 teaspoon cinnamon
    1/4- 1/2 teaspoon nutmeg
(Taste with coffe and add more of whatever you feel is missing, I probably have more cinnamon in mine because it decreases sugar cravings and tastes delicious;)
    Winner of giveaway: Suppendrache
Giveaway contained, totebag, knitting organizer, two skeins of Fjord sokkegarn from Hillesvåg and a stitchmarker box with a wooden sock progress keeper from strikkezilla.

Lovely podcast, I enjoyed sitting and having a cup of tea and a chat with you. I love the patterned sweater, can't wait to see it finished, as well as the cabled sweater.
I don't really know a lot about yarn, I live in the middle of the countryside and there is nowhere close to me that sells yarn also I tend to buy online. I usually go by other people's reviews if I've never used it before; it usually works fine but occasionally... not so good. The scenery and wildlife around you are stunning, how blessed you are. The speed with which you knit I'd incredible, your fingers are SO fast!
Thankyou for another lovely podcast, I look forward to the next, Many Blessings to you xXx

I am enjoying some sock knitting while watching your charming podcast. I discovered the Turkish cast-on for toe-up socks and and that, combined with kfb increases, is making my toe-up knitting experience quite enjoyable. Also through trial and error I know that I start the heel at 16cm from the toe for my EU38 foot so my heel placement is just where it needs to be. I also watch Fibre Tales and the Gentle Knitter, and I can recommend to you Cia's Bod podcast, a Swedish knitter who is very creative and loves rustic yarn, and also the Fruity Knitting podcast for technical expertise, stunningly beautiful knitting, interviews with fibre experts, mostly German and Welsh scenery, and interesting historical anecdotes. Thank you for your podcast suggestions and a lovely episode, and for your extremely generous giveaway.

I also do love Cape area in South Africa and wanting to go back. I never seen such a beautiful country & landscape before in my life. Lovely people and so diverse. Food are amazing. Oh, I love your raku mug. My daughter had the pleasure of learning raku the pottery in school. They had a big party to fire their pottery outdoors in the kiln. It's a special technique native to japan. We love japanese art. My Grandma was Japanese. She lived in one of the towns outside Tokyo during the Tokyo raids. Somehow, she came to love the "enemy" and married a US army soldier, my Grandpa, of course. She passed away last summer of old age (not COVID her nursing home was spared any resident cases, 1 or 2 employees did catch it, but they stayed home "sick" of course).

I am from Elk Grove, CA USA (near state capital of Sacramento) I am a retired registered nurse. I taught myself to knit in my late teens. I loved watching my grandma knit, but she never would teach me. I am left handed and so I would throw my work, but found that it was too slow , so I taught myself continental. I am currently working on a shawl, Festival of Stitches by Lisa Hannes. I am using Emma's Yarn which is hand dyed sock yarn (80% SW Merino/20% Silk) Colors are along the fall colors, browns, wine and gray. I am enjoying your UA-cam podcasts.

I'm so glad that your podcast is doing well, you have a lovely way of talking about your work and the yarns that you love!
I'm a very new knitter - I learnt briefly when I was a teenager but gave up after a few wonky rows of a scarf. Now I'm 27 and learnt again in February this year and I'm now addicted! I have made a scarf, 2 small sheep for my nephew and niece and a baby blanket so far.
I'm now working on a tiered baby jacket from frogginette and Theodore the little bear from lovely knit creations - maybe I'm being a bit too ambitious but I'm enjoying the challenge!
Thank you for the inspiration you give in these videos, I can't wait to explore some of the yarns and patterns you recommend!

Your vlog was such a joy to see today. Here in the US, things are tenuous as we approach Election Day tomorrow and my pre-election anxiety is off the charts. Your content is such a lovely respite from that tension. In other news, I finished several rounds of an exceedingly simple slouchy beanie I’m working on in a 50/50 merino/bamboo viscose. After spending the last three weeks buried in hoodies, it seemed like I might need to crack and just make a hat for indoor wear. :)

Hi again. I'm so happy you are keeping a weekly schedule with your podcasts. It's so heartening to view the next episode. I've been knitting for about 65 years. At one time I had a business of designing and knitting one-of-a-kind originals, which I sold through local stores. I averaged about three completed garments per week in those days. It makes me sad that arthritis has slowed me down to taking a long time to finish a garment. But I can't not knit, so I plug along. Your beautiful work inspires me to keep going, so a big Thank You to you.

Hi! I loved the sit and knit portion and getting to know you more. I love all of those TV shows and movies. I have a 5 year old and so haven't watched them recently. I miss them. Someday, she won't want anything to do with me and I will sit and knit and watch all the LOTR movies in one weekend. I am working on a pair of slippers for my husband. I messed up the markers so the shape is going a little off to the side. I am hoping the second is better and I can make a third that will be perfect. I am also working on a sweater pattern for my mom. It has a tiny bowtie texture all over and is knit flat. I am trying to teach myself continental knitting, but I can't figure out how to hold the yarn with my left hand so the tension is wrong. I'll keep practicing it on smaller projects and work my way up to a big stockinette sweater. I agree it would be faster if I can figure out the tension. Also, thanks for the podcast recommendations. I will check those out too.

Another wonderful podcast!! I really enjoyed the added segment of sit and knit at the end. My knitting group has a saying “If I sit I knit” 😁 I was a little worried at the beginning of the podcast that your hair was going to catch on fire from the candle! 😳 Love your Toft crocheted Cocker Spaniel. I have made a few knitted and crocheted animals for my daughter and grandson, a little finicky but so worth the finished project!!! You are so right about that blue working so well with your golds, blue’s complementary colour is orange; so that makes sense. I am a fan too of Euculans Jasmine wash scent. What a lovely and relaxing podcast! I have really enjoyed this sit and knit as I am knitting away on a simple Alpaca jumper for myself. I have just returned to knitting as a change from my usual crafts which I do. I am from England but do not knit in the traditional English way. When I do a knit row I use the Continental method and knit the English way when I do a purl row. I have absolutely no idea how I came about to kitting in the Continental way but I do a lot of things using my left hand instead of my right hand. I have been watching the Gentle Knitter and love her calming manner and she is relaxing to listen too. Congratulations by the way as you have nearly four thousand subscribers. Well done and I hope more people recommend you. Stay safe and see you soon.

I love that you got the fiber from the sheep where you are staying. I hope you show spinning it in the future episodes! I took spinning classes in 2010 and loved it. I bought a wheel, but unfortunately I got multiple sclerosis and my legs are too weak to treadle. I bought an electric wheel, but I lost the natural feeling that the wheel gave to me. I haven’t spun for a while, but I hope I can get the urge to spin again. I taught my friend who had sheep to spin, so she has my spinning wheel and makes beautiful yarn from her own sheep! I have been gifted her yarn and made sweaters with it! So that makes my heart happy. ❤ I was knitting a pair of socks for my niece while you were knitting your sweater. That was fun and nice to hear more about who you are.

I thoroughly enjoy your videos, and enjoyed hearing more about you. I loved when you talked about knitting in school. When I was in my teens, we lived in Norway just a bit, in Sandnes, right on the fjord. Our first day there, jet lagged, our landlord showed up to introduce himself. My dad was at work, so he missed the fun. Our landlord wanted to take us on a little tour of the town. I think we went everywhere lol. He took us to the high school (maybe he was a teacher there? i don't remember), and showed us around. I was fascinated by the handicrafts the students had made. We had "home economics" in 8th and 9th grade, but it was nothing like the crafts that Norwegian students were learning. I was so envious. I miss Norway so much. I can still smell the sea and the baking.

Hi Inga! We call it "Neut Muskaat" in Afrikaans. Your nutmeg. :) Also I use Woolite here in South Africa to soak yarn in. It really softens it up. Your Cowl is so gorgeous. I would call it 'fair isle", the way you mix your colours. Oh I am so proud of you for using our South African "African Expressions LOVE". Wow! I wanted to raise our flat! :) I love the doggy you made. So beautiful. Long-time WIP's that has not been touched is a UFO (unfinished object) :) I love your african fabric bag. We also sell that in South Africa. It is imported from countries upper on the continent. Oh Inga, I also want to learn how to spin. It's on my list of things to learn. There are so many videos on youtube how to do it. So i definitely want to learn. Congratulations to the winner!! Oh yes, giveaways are great. For the giver and for the receiver! I love your granny stitch blankets you're busy with. Oh dear, it is so beautiful, of course, my personal favourite. I also prefer to wear crochet for my crochet tutorials. Can't always do it but I try. About knitting tight, I've taught many people to crochet and I've found the same. Some people hang on for dear life. :) But as they relax it gets better. I think your grandmother must be so proud of you. I would be so proud of you.My daughter writes phonetically. She has improved a lot and these days with apps like Grammarly it is not a problem. Our doctors take 10 years before they can go private. 7yrs study and at least 2 years that they have to work for the government :( They don't like that. Oh Inga, I know what you mean about the insects/bugs. I hate it. I went to visit friends on a farm, way north in South Africa, and I found all the insects were so HUGE! For the 10days I stayed there I was terrified and moved my bed to the middle of the room at night and slept totally covered with sheets. Hard to breathe but SO afraid. I so totally get you. So sorry this comment is so long but I'm commenting as I'm watching. I love watching Vikings and Blacklist on Netflix. Your nature scenes are beautiful. love it.thank you for a beautiful podcast. xo

And i loved your long comment😁❤️ i actually didnt know the arfican expressions were from south africa, that is so cool!!! Love that its found its way all the way up north😄 i do remember meeting medical students that had to work for the goverment first, but i think its good to give back to thos who meed it the most🤗 here we have to work in the goverment hospitals for at least five tears before we can call ourselves specialists and go private👍🏻 i would have put the bed in the middle of the room and wrapped a thin fabric around my head to sleep! Vikings is a great show, but i was upset when ragnar... (no spoilers hehe) hope you have a lovely day😘

I absolutely LOVE you and your podcast. I’m knitting while watching a test knit summer top in hot pink and lime green. It has a few rows of lace and a section of brioche. Now just lugging through the stockinette of the body. I live outside of Detroit Michigan and it’s spring. It makes me happy seeing the world come back to life. Have a beautiful day. I just found you last week and going through past episodes. You and your work is so impeccable.

I'm binge watching all your episodes. You've answered so many of my questions. I'm always nosey about linguistics and where folk get their languages from. You answered my question about how you have such beautiful English. It is also fascinating to hear about your travels in Africa. I live in Chad a lot of the time. But I've also been to Kenya and Uganda. All of them do have beautiful material prints, like your project bag that you showed. But also they do all have a lot of bugs! Like you, I often use a mosi net to protect me from bugs at night other than mosquitos!
Thanks again for sharing your knitting and your time.

So nice to watch you knit and hear you talk about learning to knit from your grandma. My granddaughter is 6 now and I've been wondering iwhen she might to be able to start learning. I learned from my 4th grade teacher and also knit a light yellow scarf for my first project! I also loved hearing about your education and experiences - I can see why you love Norway so much also! I live in the states (Ohio) and really enjoy watching podcasts from other places - I'd love to take a walk and wander past some sheep - that wool is lovely - I'm so glad you rescued it! I am watching you while knitting on a pair of fingerless mitts - we've been trying to hold off turning on the furnace as the days get cooler, so I've been getting cold hands.

I visited Norway for the first time last year and fell in love with your country for its beauty, culture, people and of course all the yarn! I live in North Carolina in the Blue Ridge Mountains. I am knitting the Girlfriend cardigan by Ankestrick. I was inspired by Nicole of the Gentle Knitter podcast. I wanted something simple and cozy but love the little details that make it unique.

Hi Inga, I'm really happy I've found your channel and watched many videos in a row. I love listening to you and know that you're from Norway, where I wish to go someday.
Currently knitting a kind of shawl with a hood with a very local and rustic Irish yarn (from their own sheep...) It does still smell :D I love that smell. Each time I go to Ireland I bring back home lots of wool and don't know what to do with it, I just fall in love with it I can't help myself, lol. So now I don't follow any tutorial I just knit what I have in mind. Greeting from Brittany, France :) xx

    Hi Inga,
Thank you for another wonderful podcast. While watching this episode I was sitting and knitting on a sweater for my daughter. It is the Bohéme sweater by Randi Hjelm. I am using Briggs and Little Regal (a nice rustic yarn) in the Forest Brown colourway. I have just attached the sleeves (as the episode was coming to a close - perfect timing!) and now my daughter has to make a final decision about the shade of brown she wants for the colourwork yoke.

So fun to sit and knit with you. I’m working on the final clue for the Stephen West mkal using Holst Supersoft. The rows are extra long now, but I’m thinking I’ll be finished before my birthday this weekend. Which means a birthday cast-on for me! Oh and I rewatch Harry Potter, The Hobbit & LOTR every year. Harry Potter during advent, The Hobbit (extended editions of course!) during “betwixtmas” - the week between xmas and new year, and the LOTR during the first week of the new year - also extended editions. It’s my annual ritual. Just love those movies - they make me so happy.

Good evening Inga. Really loved the sit & knit. I originally learned English-style & made the switch to Continental and found it quicker. It'll be interesting to start again after 3 years of crochet. I loved hearing about how school encouraged crafts. UK don't invest so much in it nowadays so it's good there's a large community of educators to pass down yarn crafts. Have a good weekend. Love from London 🧶

Glad i found your sweet little podcast. Currently I'm working on some Christmas socks for my teen daughter. Her 15th birthday was last week and we dyed yarn together that afternoon and I said I would make her socks with the yarn she dyed. So I'm trying very hard in my free time to finish them on or before December 1st so she could wear them all month leading up to Christmas. I LOVED your cowl and the fact that it stands up. I see so many cowls that droop down and that's a feature I dislike in most cowls. I prefer the look of yours so you can see the design and it keeps your neck warm. Off to another vlog of yours as I see you just uploaded another one a few days ago and it is recommend to me.

Hi Inga, love your podcast, I'm your new subscriber from Lithuania. Just binge watched all your episodes. Love your section of knitting together, please do it more. I'm curently finishing my Arrowhead Cardigan, already cut the steak, only sleaves and colar are left. I'm knitting it from a very rustic Lithuanian wool, it doesn't even have a name or lable, they just sell it from a local mill. Can't wait to see how it's going to look when it's finished and blocked. Since this wool is quite thick, I imagine it will be more like an outside jacket for nice long golden autumn walks in the crunchy leaves...
Thank you for this lovely time, looking forward to your next episode 😊

I just started to watch your podcasts (I'm watching from the 1st episode), well I just started to watch knitting potcasts - as in Poland it is not so popular - so I even didn't know about this kind of "movies". And I have to write that this is one of my favorits :). Thank you for inspirations :). I learned how to knit from YT moovie (first was cable sweater- too small ;) ), but my grandfather aunt showed me how to crochet long, long time ago. Lovely Manou sweater! I should pick up mine and finish it! I just wanted to mention, I make an exception for Holst supersoft yarn and block it in warm water, to really dissolve the spinning oils. It makes a difference compared to lukewarm water. Then I go to a cooler bath.

Hi Inga, I loved knitting along with you, and I noticed that we're both working on sleeves at the same time! My current project is a Flax Light sweater for my husband in a petrol-slate-blue colorway on the Tern base by Quince and Co. It's not a rustic wool at all, but it has a gorgeous stitch definition and knits up beautifully. My other project is a Birds of a Feather Shawl (knitting along while watching Episode 5!), and it's soft, squishy and silky, and I can't stop knitting on it!
I hope you keep that segment to your podcast! I can't attend any sort of in-person knitting group right now, and I'm usually working when my local yarn shop has a virtual sit and stitch. It's lovely being part of a global community of knitters!
I have to admit - I was a little mesmerized and a little terrified of your candle! Your hair and your Toft spaniel looked like they got awfully close to the flame, and I was really hoping that nothing would catch fire!
    Peace, Elizabeth
