I like trivium riffs, but if you take the whole songs, I can only name a few that you can listen to non-stop in a circle, like "Inception of the End". The riffs are complicated, but as far as I'm concerned, they don't always work out organically. And BFMV's riffs are simple, but the songs are organic and listen much better, although they cling less (although I know more about them than trivium).
Bullet riffs are not that technical but it’s catchy unlike trivium. Trivium can definitely play bullet songs dunno if bullet can play trivium songs though.
Saaaame, gotta be my 14th time seeing bullet I think, I went to there first ever headline tour in the uk in 2005, and ever tour after until temper temper came out
My 2 biggest influences for guitar playing talking about the riffs I have loved learning as a 17 year old. I’m now 35 and still love playing songs from these albums. I can’t wait for this tour to come to Australia 🇦🇺
Guys from BFMV and Trivium : thank you for sharing these videos to celebrate the tour and 20th anniversary of both debut albums. There is so much joy and passion, it really makes me smile and happy every time
I swear to god I'm here just like melting seleeing these two together! IT IS BECAUSE OF YOU TWO AND YOUR BANDS THAT I PLAY GUITARS FOR OVER 20 YEARS AND JAM YOUR SONGS EVERY NOW AND THEN!! THANK YOU LOVE YOU
What a bloody lovely video! Listening to Matt Heafy talk and smile when Matt Tuck talks and shows his parts is just such a nice thing to see. Heafy seems like such a good dude
He has really tight playing which gets pointed out in a Dean Lamb (Archspire) video when he and his wife learned 4 Trivium riffs he challenged them with
My first near-concussion was as a 16-year old seeing Trivium at the Colchester Arts Centre in Essex, UK. They were touring their Ascendency album and 20 years later I still think of that gig. Matt was also out the front lifting weights and my friend joined him. Weeks later, I went to see Bullet at the London Astoria (RIP) for The Poison tour. These albums have stayed with me for over half of my life and I’ll always love Trivium and Bullet for a lifetime of metal goodness 🙏
I love how Tuck is always smiling at Heafy playing and just nodding along like "hell yeah" and Heafy is very focused trying to figure out the riff immediatly.
Please let this trend! You 2 have been one of my main influences throughout my guitar life and watching this video, listening to how you think is simply amazing! Thank you so much for this video and drawing us as your fans into your train of thought. To all Metal bands and musicians out there ! Please do this more. Thank you so much again!
These are the frontmen of two of the bands that had the hugest influence on me as a guitar player and both provided major chunks of the soundtrack to my teenage years
I learned so much from this session about why i prefer by far their earlier stuff, and they kinda put words on that themselves... xD They were young, "fearless" like they said, they put together things that should'nt have worked together and just trust their guts at the time, and that's what actually gave birth to the masterpieces we had. I honestly don't listen to their newer stuff unfortunately, even though i tried, but til today i very often dig their old stuff on repeat, and through this session what i understood is that they kinda got trapped by their experience and kinda "veteran compose" instinctly things that are meant to fit together on paper, which for me gives something that lacks a lot of guts... I don't know if i'm the only one, but from Ember to Inferno to In Waves, and from The Poison to Fever, those were the only albums that really reached through me. And I kinda feel trapped in the past for many bands like this... Only In Flames kinda did a back to the roots or As I Lay Dying that did'nt change, but for the rest, be it All That Remains, Asking Alexandria, Escape The Fate, Bring Me The Horizon, Parkway Drive, and many other bands that don't come to mind right now, all their "evolutions" did'nt reach to me and it kinda became a fatality for me that a band someday will transform into something that doesn't speak to me, so far only Breakdown Of Sanity keeps me on road, but for the rest it's complicated, and i come to ask myself if the bands get less inspired over time or if it's me that becomes way too old and picky, i don't know... xD
I'll add Killswitch Engage, Unearth or Shadows Fall. Alive or just breathing is still unbeatable to me, everyone can say what they want but that IS peak KSE, unmatched aggressiveness.
So sometimes YT algorithm can be good. I'm glad I saw this video on my feed. I really love vibes, you gentlemen presented in a video. Both bands have amazing set of songs, from which I enjoy coming back to listing every now and then. Unfortunatelly I didn't see Trivium live, but about a decade ago I saw BFMV, when they were playing on festival on my university's campus in Poland. I was just few years into metal and didn't know a lot of band at that time. So I tried to listen to songs of bands after list of permormers was closed. That was a moment I discovered their band. I was really amazed with live performance of Tears. Still to this day I love Betrayal. Something about that drum sequence at the begining stick with me. At the same festival I was able to see and enjoy Motörhead, just few years before Lemmy's death. It was unbelievable, how at almost 70 Lemmy was still performing like a rock star. At the end I wish for both of bands to have at least 20 more years of amazing careers. It is a pleasure to listen to yours music.
Long time scince I enjoyed a video this much. I've learned so many thinks about writing, guitars, mixing ... They both seem such humble guys, my grandma would feed them so many cookies.
Two of the most influential musicians in my guitar journey since I was a teenager. This feels almost emotional. You both are part of the reason I play guitar and why I love metal 🥹 waiting for you in Chile !!! 🇨🇱
These guitar tones are like perfect. As a guy that watches a lot of Matt H content he never has this exact tone it’s so good! Inspirational video guys! Thank you for doing this.
thats just a full circle moment for my 2006 self, struggleing to learn any fast riff from those two debut albums. wholesome metalcore moment for the books, love it!
Matt tuck will ALWAYS be my metal daddy. I got 4 tattoos of bullet because they raised me on metal, and was the foundation of my high-school and relationship foundation. I LOVE THIS
Amazing hearing Matt x Matt talking to each other as real fans, basically saying what we would to them! Rain and Suffocating being pivotal riffs for every guitarists \m/ loving this so much \m/
So damn stoked to see these two titan bands together for this tour (especially after seeing both live at festival stops, as well as headliners separately). As a guitar player, as well, it is very inspiring to see this content 🤘
This was good time. Just headin these two legends go over their stories while creating music. Both two bands have always been in heavy rotation. Absolutely timeless albums🔥
Man. These dudes were SO influential to me in my formative years of learning guitar and discovering music. Guitar World had them both touted as the "next Metallicas" and I couldn't get enough. It's so cool to see them talk shop
WOAH even though i‘ve just listened to a bit of their music in last year, this video is so catchy. The genuinely fluent, real conversation about making music/ riffing of those two sympathetic frontmen, and not to forget THE PRODUCTION value, just really awesome to see and hear. :) Now after long thinking gonna try to see them in hometown, i probably will do so. Keep up your amazing music BFMV and TRIVIUM! \m/
This is so cool! The big bands I grew up with were at each other's throats so this kinda thing would never of happened. It's cool to do a time warp back to the 2000's with you
Cant wait to see them in a few weeks time in Birmingham. Im 36 years old now 2005 early 2000s was such a good era for metalcore bullet trivium killswitch atreyu all that remains so many good bands.
Ascendancy to Shogun and The Poison to Scream Aim Fire contributed probably hundreds of album repeats to my 2000s. Thanks for the inspiration and riffs 🔥
Ofc i watched every minute of this. 😉 Cheers from Croatia! ❤ I forgotten to say happy b day mr. Tuck! (the other day. 😅) You and my mom have the same date but she's older ten years. Wild to see you guys tour and jam together! Did Padge oversleep? Jetlag got a new meaning! 😂
I was smiling watching the entire video, this feels deep in my heart, such an amazing bands, my heroes reunited lml maybe BFMV vs Trivium guitar duel could be real
Both Matts are such a great persons. I'm glad I grew up to their music. Tears Don't Fall was one of the main reasons I picked up my electric guitar. Been a fan since the first day I heard classic BFMV songs, and still am to this day:)
Absolutely adored this entire video ❤ two musicians teeming with passion, inspiration, and congeniality in front of a camera will always be wholesomely entertaining
I got to meet Corey and Heafy when they where about to release Vengeance Falls, the radio station Bandit rock had an event where you could get picked and go to Warner music studios here in Sweden to lissen to the album before it was released, i was one of the lucky ones who got picked, i went there with a couple of other winners and we sat in a room and lissened to the whole album, and then out of nowhere Corey and Matt came in, we where all shocked, they stayed with us for an hour and answered all questions and took pictures etc, they where so nice. Still one of my favorite music moments in my life. ❤❤❤❤
This was a great pairing of guitar minds. Trivium with everything has a purpose needs to be technically spot on and Bullet with driving home a vibe and feeling the music.
This was cool as fuck to watch. 2 of my guitar/metal idols just shooting the shit about their outbreak albums. Love where Matt(T) said MachineHead and Metallica were the reason he got into guitar playing. I met Matt in a bar after seeing them live once and told him the exact same thing. Still to this day one of the most unreal experiences just bumping into my guitar playing Idol. He was nice as could be, happy to take pictures and invited me and my friend to have drink with him, chatting about music for like 10 mins, didnt try to rush us away, no grandure, just a down to earth dude. This Tour is going to be so unreal!!
Talking about the Media, I remember Kerrang! turning on Both Bands when the 2nd Albums came out and I just didn't get why, both have been consistently releasing bangers for 20 years
Two metalhead gentlemen talking about their passion, ideas and influences. Simply beautiful.
Yeah i like this ❤❤❤ very interesting
if these dudes kissed i wouldn't even mind bro
That's the thing!!! ❤
I agree my 2 favorite bands
correct
Matt talks to Matt about Matt's guitar influences and Matt responds with his own influences and thoughts.
Truly a Matt moment.
My 2 favorite fellow Matts
Missed out on all three lol
Just need Matt Shadows for the Matt trio
I just realized they're both matt omg
Truly a 'Mattception'
i like it when matt plays the guitar
The matts
Dude right, and then Matt plays the guitar
Matt²
I’m now 31 years old.
Been waiting for this tour and videos like this since I was literally 15.
This is awesome
Same dude, I'm so excited!
im 33 hahah same man
Me 2
36, and exactly the same. The debut albums of these two bands are the reason I listen to mostly everything I do today
Same ! 31 and been listening to them since 2005. I have tickets to see them in London in one week, I can't wait !
This means everything to me. To see my 2 favorite frontmen jamming.. man it’s almost emotional 🥹🥹🥹
100% agreed. Can’t wait to see them on tour again soon!
Absolutely
Already bought tickets to see them in april
The two best rhythm guitarists in metalcore together, this is good stuff.
It's the biggest celebration of Metalcore and 05' golden era. 5-7-8 riffs forever. So beautiful! 🤘
Next Padge and Corey trading solos
Please 🙏
HELL YEAH!
Yes we need this!
This
OH YEAH
Pleeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeease
BFMV's riffs are so tasteful yet so simple.
Agree. Hand of Blood’s intro is very simple but hits like a truck
I like trivium riffs, but if you take the whole songs, I can only name a few that you can listen to non-stop in a circle, like "Inception of the End". The riffs are complicated, but as far as I'm concerned, they don't always work out organically.

Bullet riffs are not that technical but it’s catchy unlike trivium. Trivium can definitely play bullet songs dunno if bullet can play trivium songs though.
Trivium is darker, bullet is uplifting.
Trivium riffs are more technical but when a bullet riff is played they left their stamp. You know its bullet
Yessssss can’t wait for next Thursday to see you both live in Manchester!!!
Same
same!!
Same! 1st time seeing trivium, 6th time I've seen bullet!
You're lucky man, I tried to get on their show in 2000x in Russia, but unfortunately couldn't 😭
Saaaame, gotta be my 14th time seeing bullet I think, I went to there first ever headline tour in the uk in 2005, and ever tour after until temper temper came out

Wherever he is right now, James Hetfield is thinking "yes, my sons".
😂😂
Yeahhhhh
@@danlevy9962 Don't you mean "YEAH YEAH!" ?
Also mick thomson from slipknot
Spill my drink laughing, thank you.
Guys from BFMV and Trivium : thank you for sharing these videos to celebrate the tour and 20th anniversary of both debut albums. There is so much joy and passion, it really makes me smile and happy every time
@ my brain just went off ahah thanks for the correction

THANK YOU LOVE YOU
What a bloody lovely video! Listening to Matt Heafy talk and smile when Matt Tuck talks and shows his parts is just such a nice thing to see. Heafy seems like such a good dude
Trivium Matt has his right hand absolutely locked in with his left, the synchronization is nuts
He has really tight playing which gets pointed out in a Dean Lamb (Archspire) video when he and his wife learned 4 Trivium riffs he challenged them with
4:58 "we get so much money out of it" and he is not wrong lol
I think Matt is a millionaire by now😂
@@khumgangte9246he already is for quite a few years.
It’s the root in Hearts Burst as well if I’m not mistaken
Legit feels like 2 uncles at a BBQ comparing fishing stories. I love this 😂❤

Seeing my childhood metal heroes together is awesome. Also the teasing Jackson V behind the Mr. Tuck, so cool

I’m 40 I’m from Bridgend 🏴 these 2 albums were epic in my 2005
Can’t wait for the tour on Sunday in Cardiff 🤘
Imagining this two bands duetting in one stage when I was a highschooler, now this is finally a dream come true..
Two favorite bands when I was a teen. Don't listen to them much anymore, but have been getting back into this style of music lately. Really cool.
Jaw dropped at 2:31 that riff is so sick
This vid is exactly what I've been waiting for in anticipation of their tour. Just Matts playing guitar and talking music 🤘
I am 39 years old. I have not given up on you since my university years. You are amazing.
Greetings from Turkey😍
More videos like this between bands are needed ! Beautiful meeting
0:29 Matt (BFMV guy) looking like an anime sticker thanks to the white light around his head lmao

2 amazing gentleman. Authentic, badass, talented, iconic. Forever a fan.
That chord was also in BFMV Hearts burst into fire, iconic! What got me into guitars.
I heard the chord and immediately thought Hearts. Such a fun grip to mess with.

Man, I can’t wait to see you guys in early April. Doing a VIP package for both bands. Super stoked.
I listened to Trivium live at the Megadeth concert in Turkey in 2012, now I am in Los Angeles and I will listen to BFMV live.
the two awesome dudes from the two bands that drove me to pick up a guitar chillin, shreddin, teaching each other their songs, its a thing of beauty🤘
Ufffffffff some riffs of my teenage times 🫶
Much love 💚
Literally cannot wait to see you guys in the O2
This is so cool!
The big bands I grew up with were at each other's throats so this kinda thing would never of happened.
It's cool to do a time warp back to the 2000's with you
This is awesome. Metalheads heaven in terms of sit down talks, loved these two growing up.
Dude...both of my high school guitar heroes in one place...going through their riffs...this is incredible
Cant wait to see them in a few weeks time in Birmingham. Im 36 years old now 2005 early 2000s was such a good era for metalcore bullet trivium killswitch atreyu all that remains so many good bands.
I watched with such a HUUUUUGE smile the entire video. Love both BFMV and Trivium
i am grateful to have grown up with their songs.. 🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻
this will be a hell of a tour! the foundation of my metal journey. see you in the mosh pit soon you legends
Good marketing idea ahead of the gigs
Ascendancy to Shogun and The Poison to Scream Aim Fire contributed probably hundreds of album repeats to my 2000s.
Thanks for the inspiration and riffs 🔥
This is made me so happy, as a guitarist and a fan
Ofc i watched every minute of this. 😉

I forgotten to say happy b day mr. Tuck! (the other day. 😅) You and my mom have the same date but she's older ten years. Wild to see you guys tour and jam together! Did Padge oversleep? Jetlag got a new meaning! 😂
This is legendary. BFMV is the band I started playing guitar 17 years ago. Thank you
Very excited for Thursday 🤘
I was smiling watching the entire video, this feels deep in my heart, such an amazing bands, my heroes reunited lml maybe BFMV vs Trivium guitar duel could be real
I’m just super pumped for this tour. Growing up with both these bands.
See you in Dallas 🤘
….think I’m gonna take my mom to the show 😁
Trivium guitar parts are harder in general but bullet is more catchy. Would love to see them cover each other songs.
4:50 heafy casually started playing hearts burst into fire

THOSE EPIPHONES MY GOSH I WANT IT ALL
Absolutely adored this entire video ❤ two musicians teeming with passion, inspiration, and congeniality in front of a camera will always be wholesomely entertaining
two of the first ever metal band that gets me to guitar journey!!!!
Absolutely loved this, 2 of my favorite songwriters playing and discussing my favorite riffs
grew up listening to both of them. made me shed a tear to see them in one room fr
Looking forward to your Vienna show! Two of my favourite childhood bands, oh my fuckin gooood, lets goo. ❤
Really enjoyed watching this! I wish more bands would do this
I love how excited matt is talking about his favorite riff

Can't wait to see these guys next week Bullet X Trivium tour 🎉
Being taken back so many years, sitting here this morning with a big smile on my face. Going to have to do a lot of revision before O2
Talking about the Media, I remember Kerrang! turning on Both Bands when the 2nd Albums came out and I just didn't get why, both have been consistently releasing bangers for 20 years
So excited to see you guys in Toronto gonna be a riot
Two of my fav bands.... absolutely epic
