Iggy is just too kind, he needs to appreciate himself more. Everybody loves him so much and he deserves the world. He just doesn’t realize that. He and Martin are beautiful together ❤️

My heart broke because Iggy doesn't see his self worth the way others see him. I cried at this because he is so much more. Martin named like ten reasons why he wants to be with him and I shed even more tears. This scene was amazing, so happy that New Amsterdam is back.

i watched this scene for the first time today and i was bawling my eyes out - i have had this exact conversation with my therapist before and it's so hard to realise how you sound until you hear it from someone else. Iggy is an absolute blessing to tv
I feel this on a deeply personal level... I've always been the friend that people come to when they need to talk or vent. Everyone always wants *me.* And I love helping people! I love helping my friends when they need me. But I feel like it is the one and only reason my friends keep me around, even though I know logically it's not. But I can't shake it.
This really hits a nerve. I wish my sweetie was here - he so helped my self esteem.
I hate how much I resonate with his feelings. Even friends that I have had for almost 20 years, I'm afraid of them leaving me, finding someone better. If I'm helpful, then I'm needed and less likely to be thrown away. I know I have other things, but at the same time I don't.

HELP I'M SOBBING ON A FRIDAY NIGHT OML
I just watched this episode for the first time today and during this scene I had to pause in the middle of it because I related to Iggy so much in this scene. I literally had to exit out and watch something else for a few minutes because it made me super uncomfortable. Iggy said everything that I’ve thought but I’ve never told anyone before. I haven’t even admitted it to myself. I love learning new things about mental health and I’m going to college this year to major in psychology to better be equipped at helping people. I’ve watched a lot of shows and movies but this is literally the first time I’ve seen a character that I’ve related too. It was both an amazing and terrifying experience lol.
This was so sad he might need some help because that isn’t healthy

I uhh... I know how he feels, I feel the same. I AM kind. I am more patient than anyone I know, but I also don't deserve not to be. I'm ugly, fat, dumber than a brick & my own skin disgusts me. I dont.like my lips, my nose, my eyes. I DID like my hair, but I even lost THAT to cancer. There ls just... NOTHING good about me unless if it's something I can do to someone else. The more I help people, the better I feel about myself, cuz at least I'm helping thoes who are worthy.
I hope you are doing better and even though I don’t know you I can tell you are an amazing person and beautiful no matter what.

I consider myself a decent judge of character and I'm just NOT seeing this NPD diagnosis in dr. Frome. Martyr complex perhaps, maybe even white savoir as a stretch (I personally have no problem with interracial adoption so long is the effort is made to acquaint the child with their ethnic culture. Is there something I'm missing? Help me out here
A type of NPD is called vulnerable narcissist. They don't see themselves in a good light. They enjoy the pain of victim hood

That Doctor ruined everything she did for Dr Frome by saying there are similarities to his behaviour and narcissism.

Dr. Frome was diagnosed with narcissistic personality disorder. It's sick, not beautiful.
He faked the tears, que put himself as a victim to blame Martin when he actually was right. It's not fair trying to adopt a child without asking his husband's opinion. He underestimated all people there.
He's so manipulative. The only thing he tries to show is that he is special, people need him, he is not capable to talk about his own qualities. Everybody there was talking about him in a good way, and he disnt say anything about Martin.
That was the best scene of the show. Very well written.
Eh, it was also suggested that the girl was not actually a good psychologist in the first place and she was inexperienced. Could have been a bluff
I understand that Iggy may partly fit the narcissistic personality profile, but in this particular scene I don't think he has been manipulating Martin. Iggy actually has a self-esteem problem, and hes ability to help and hes desire to adopt makes him feel better, to the point of making the mistake of not talking to her husband on time. I understand that Martín was upset, but I don't think Iggy manipulated him .. the therapist helped Iggy to show his true feelings and Martín to understand her husband a little mor.

I came here to see what other people say about Iggy on NPD. I just finished this episode. Also I thought he's brilliant in dealing with the little girl who's a psychopath. That little girl acting was great. Fromme's behavior doesn't look like NPD to me though. The charming personality could be counted as one. He doesn't seem that much manipulative. He was crushed by that little psycho girl. However he does know the game or method and teach her to win. I don't know....

its not bad that he likes to help other people. Its only bad/unhealthy if it is the ONLY thing he likes about himself. He is putting his whole self worth based on helping other people, on one thing only. So in reality he hates himself. He doesnt think he is worthy of love.
