These New York Rangers PROSPECTS COULD PLAY A BIG ROLE NEXT SEASON!

New York Rangers still have a couple holes to fill on this roster and with free agency quieting down, they could look to use some of their more NHL-ready prospects to take those spots. Rangers have some great prospects in the system and guys like Brennan Othmann, Brett Berard, Adam Edstrom, and Matthew Robertson could have an impact at some point throughout this season.

should have given othmann more rope in the NHL last year. they paid the price when he wasnt an option when things got dry offensively in the playoffs. im expecting them to give the first 2 guys here a solid opportunity in camp.

This is what i wanted to see since 2 seasons ago bring up the most wanted prospects and mold them into the style of game the coach wants and stop looking for over paid players that everyone thinks will solve the teams issues and the longer they wait the longer it will take to rebuild.

Edstrom 6-7 ....2nd or 3rd line center should easily make this team this year.....as well as next year 6-7 Dylan Roobreck- Highly rated center as well.....much needed size for the Rangers......

Othmann is the only prospect currently in the Rangers farm system that I believe is truly ready for the NHL. There is a few that're about one good year away in the AHL that could crack the lineup over the next year. Not this coming season, but, next season I believe Robertson and Garland will also be ready. Brett is still about two or three years away from being NHL ready. His two way game needs a lot of work. Edstorm is also close, again, he just needs to work on his two way game among a few other things. Most of the Rangers current roster is awful when it comes to the defensive end of hockey. That's the biggest issue the Rangers need to address this off-season.

@@delsanravelvetheart4365 end of the day we still have a 1rw problem . Othman isn't that guy ,kakko for sure isn't the guy .I just don't know what the plan is we can't expect panarin to have another career season, mabey laf picks up the slack , alot of mabeys right now.

@@Ddeamorin I watched a good amount of Wolfpack games live. Othmann always stood out in a positive way. However, you aren't wrong either. Kakko just straight up doesn't look like he fits within the Rangers system. I still have hope for Kakko but it's fading fast. Othmann will be a good 2nd line winger. He'll probably get around 40-50 point if he plays on the second line. I'll take that over Wheelers production last season lol. Othmann is the only NHL rdy prospect though. Nobody else is ready for the jump in skill level yet.

None of these prospects are top 6 level player atm , i just want my team to have a top 6 and not a top 5 but drury seems content to play another season of musical chairs with bottom 6 caliber player on the top line . Im excited to give the kids a shot but teams like NJ and even the islanders got better while we have done nothing but have drama.

We should always trade away youth for more seasoned talent, everyone knows Kids don't win games (except for like every team not named The Rangers)

Othmann ain’t ready for the NHL don’t be surprised if he doesn’t make the opening night roster he was kinda a PP merchant in Hartford Brett berard on the other hand I think def is ready for the NHL and can have a spot on that 3rd or 4th line especially if kakko is gone
