it needs to be on the books that an uninterrupted log must be present or the officer must be fined for failing to maintain an uninterrupted stream of video and audio. at least one or two states could easily put this into motion but... given that we can have full video/audio and the officer can still just outright perform lies to twist the context of the bodycam footage... we need there to be uninterrupted streams, even if the punishment is just nickel and diming these assholes with fines for not doing it. @@lamwen03

It could have escalated way higher if the cop would have been any worse, and I don’t understand the point of standing your ground and taking your chance at being shot, while you can just comply, sit, sort it out, and then file an official complaint against this cop. There needs to be a FEDERAL List of ALL officers that have lost their badge for cause. They should NEVER be allowed to hold a badge or work for any city, county or state again, ever. Thy should never be allowed to be an armed guard in any private company. They have PROVEN that they should never hold badge or gun.

A similar thing happened to my mom, she got stopped and cited a ticket for get this, turning too soon at a traffic light. Apparently there is a law that says you have to wait five seconds, even if you are totally clear to turn left.
My mom was crying and stressed because first she has never gotten a ticket and second the officer was incredibly rude to her. The ticket was going to be about $500 because he cited her as making an illegal left turn. I told my mom to dispute the ticket in court, and she was hesitant but ultimately decided to because she did absolutely nothing wrong.
We went to the courthouse and told the clerk we wanted to dispute it and she said that the ticket wasn't in the system yet. So we waited about 4 days and went back and were told that the officer still hadn't put in the system. We waited another 6 days and were told the same thing. At this point, it was getting worrisome because the ticket said if you didn't pay or set a day to dispute it then a warrant would be made for your arrest. So two days before we called the courthouse and the clerk told us that it still wasn't in the system and we explained that my mom only had two days. The clerk, who was amazing, said she was going to call the police department and ask because the ticket should be in the system by now. About an hour later we got a call from the clerk and she said she spoke with the police department supervisor and the supervisor went and spoke with the police officer who issued the ticket, and said that my mother MISUNDERSTOOD that he wasn't issuing a ticket but a WARNING. What the hell?! Clearly, it was a ticket because it had the word ticket on it, a number for the ticket, and it said in big black bold letters that failure to set a court date or fine would result in an arrest. Also, the clerk saw the ticket multiple times and surprise also concluded it was a ticket. The clerk was equally confused with what the officer said but was super kind and gave us her name and employee number if any problems were to arise. The police officer was clearly in the wrong, knew about it, and made everything up.

What? You must not have had many stops in Germany then. Because they can do MUCH more in Germany. They can make you piss by the side of the road. If you say you don’t want to, they’ll take you to the station, get a warrant and take your blood. Now even if it showed that you did nothing. Too bad so sad. I’ve been treated like shit by police officers in Germany. They’ll just stop you and TELL you you’ve run a red light. Now did you? Well since there’s always 2 of them it doesn’t matter what you say. Even if you have a dashcam there’s no guarantee that it will be allowed in court. Hell they can stop you whenever they want on the street. They don’t need a reason to stop you at all. They don’t like you’re face, they’ll stop you. Don’t like your car, they’ll stop you. God forbid you don’t use „Sie“ that’ll be „Beamtenbeleidigung“ even if they’ve „duzed“ you before that the whole time. Usually regular cops across the planet are usually assholes because that kind of job attracts assholes. They don’t solve murders or go after pedophiles. Those are all special units. The everyday best cop is usually someone who likes action or power. Doesn’t have a college education and let’s be honest has an ego problem. Never met any beat cop that was nice. I’ve met detectives that were the shit. So awesome to interact with because they realize that catching some 17 year old smoking a doobie isn’t going to do make the world a better place.
