I have the first printing of the book Titanic Sea Disaster from 1912, it was dedicated to my Grandmother when she was 12 years old. The family had return tickets from New York back to Brittan on the Titanic but it never made it. Great build Chris, snap kits have come a long ways.
Yes, every person who builds boats or ships should definitely get this particular one, these old steam liners were truly magnificent and a sight to behold!
Another great build Chris. I never, never would have guessed that was a press fit kit. The details on this kit is amazing. LED lighting would turn a great kit into an amazing kit. Again nice build.
Glad you did this build! Everytime I go to the Hobby Shop or Michael's they stock the shelves with 5 of these Titanic kits and within a week they are out of stock and reordering more. I always notice this and think to myself must be either a great kit and/or people just love the Titanic. Very impressed with the detail. I have been modeling for 30+ yrs and never would think about buying a snap kit. When I started modeling the snap kits were never this detailed and had a lot less parts. I am definitely buying one of these now that I see what's in the box and the finished model. Looks very nice. If you showed me just the finished model I would never have believed this was a snap kit.
Turned out really nice, amazing considering it's a snap kit, they're really putting a lot of effort into the moulds and detail these days. I have the revell Anniversary 1/400 scale Titanic and was thinking of doing a seascape diorama with it, but the size is way too big so might seriously consider getting this snap kit version and detailing it up a bit. Nice one !
Holy Mackeral, Chris! The fidelity of detail on this kit is phenomenal! This is SOOOOOOOO cool and love the fact that we get to see another ship kit. Promise you'll build the USS Pittsburgh when Atlantis releases it shortly. Also want to plug the Round 2 reissue of Lindberg's Godzilla. The massive Polar Lights kit was fun to watch but the Lindberg Godzilla was a GREAT kit based on Big G from the 90s and deserves a video all his own. You ROCK, bro!

Picked this up yesterday, never done any modelling but wanted a titanic model, and prebuilt ones are expensive. Bought some weathering paint too and the model really does look decent, I expected it to be a little bigger but it is what it is. I don't think a 10 year old would have the patience though to install all the little details, and the waterslide yellow line does not stick to the bumpy surface between the black and white deck, there shouldve been a flat line to accomodate that. I would like to get into proper modelling and building a bigger titanic, but having to buy a compressor is holding me back
Just what I needed I don’t understand why there aren’t pre assembled models of the ship but this is as close as My laziness can get to pre assembled it will probably take me all Saturday and a Sunday morning but look good I’m my bedroom also can it float man?
hpiguys Workshop please can you test it I need to know I’m 15 years old and I’m bored I just want to make sure I haven’t wasted £30 on something that doesn’t float 😂
Great build, I used the LED strip in mine diffused with a folded paper towel. But this one is bigger than mine was. A very enjoyable build to do and video to watch. Have a great one bud and Build on Brother....😎
beautiful model. I have been thinking of building one of the various Titanic model's out there and this one is certainly worth considering. I am planning to do a video of the Molly Brown House in Denver soon.
Yup a really nice kit. I agree with you for the decks, I would also go for a little bit darker... Perhaps even add a little orange to the mix. That said, it's sad that it doesn't come with a frozen solid Leo. lol Did you end up finding the part? You know, I think we should request from model kit companies that they put tiny GPS thingy in those parts, so when they go off flying somewhere, we could use the GPS system to track them down in the room. lol
Nice build my friend! I really like the detail and effort that Revell put into this kit. Will get with my local hobby shop and get one ordered! During my last tour in the UK, we went to see a Titanic exhibit that was really well done..
Turned out beautiful, and I loved everything about the video except for one thing. I openly admit that my own OCD is really the problem here, but they're called "Funnels", not smokestacks! Great build, and great video!
@@Therevdon "a person who is excessively concerned with minor details and rules or with displaying academic learning." Than it was a joke about being pedantic. 😂
As a young lad, I built a large model of the Titanic myself. It took me two years to complete. The Bugger sunk on the maiden pond voyage !!! What are the odds ??
This seems like a pretty easy Titanic model kit to put together. I've checked out and skimmed through the assembly instructions found on Revell's website, and I see there are no pieces to assemble for the promenade A deck (second one from the top deck). The deck isn't too visible, though, but it's still missing. The deck-colored parts sprue that's shown @ 7:17 has a space that is suspiciously empty. Would that space be for the A deck pieces? Hmm...
It probably may be quite a while till aftermarket photo etch set is released, especially since 1/600 is quite a new scale compared to the traditional 1/700 scale that photo etch is available for
Great build. I’ve built the 1/570 Revell Titanic and the 1/350 Entex kit. I’d love to tackle the 1/200 scale Trumpeter kit, but that’s out of my range at the moment.

I really like this model, thankfully they sell it at a local hobby shop near me. I'm willing to put it in water so I can make it sink. By any chance, if you know, if I put it in water, will the pieces fall off? Thanks for the building and review!
I did have this kit. I have experience trust me. But I still couldn’t get some of the small pieces on. EVEN WITH STRONG GLUE. Maybe just I ethier suck of the holes are to small or the parts are to big.
It lacks the recessed areas at the forward and aft well decks (underneath the forecastle and poop deck). Those recessed areas are the entrances for the crew and third class single male passengers (at the forward well deck) and the entrances for the third class married couples and third class single female passengers (at the aft well deck). But this kit is more accurate than Hobby Boss' larger 1:550 kit which lacks so many windows and the promenade deck bulkheads are all straight.
Really good looking ship! The plating is a little out of scale, though I understand why. You need it that thick to show details at this small a scale. Otherwise, pretty dang cool.
The grey parts of the ship like above front of wheel house did you paint it or did it come with the model cuz I’m confused and if so where can I find the grey paint
ahhh the Mighty Olympic class vessel but i also like it how revell makes these snap kits mostly i did get the Academy RMS Titanic but instead i accidentally broke the stern mast but i converted it into the rusted version of the Titanic witch can be seen in Raise the Titanic a 1980 film based off the novel
We remember a hobby shop in Troy, NY that had a Titanic model kit in the window labelled 'Civilian Submarine' next to a kit model of a Nuclear Submarine. Is the shop you usually link to selling it? We wants.
Modelroundup.com does not sell this kit, but a google search of the item number will show you plenty of sellers. I use Tower Hobbies when MR doesn't carry a kit.
I’m looking into getting the model I have one question is it required to drill out holes on the front and back decks to get things to fit like you said in the end of the video or is it an option for more details?
I have the 1:700 scale R.M.S Titanic by Revell Germany.I haven't finished it yet, because there is a total of 5 or 6 1:700 scale photoetched sets;by Tom's Model Works.I only have one;out of the total 6 sets,to super detail the model with. There is also a resin prop set;for the Revell Germany 1:700 scale R.M.S. Titanic, that I want to get my hands on.All together, that comes out to be ~$45-$65.00 MSRP;for the other 5 photoetched detail up sets.
this is just a tiny bit of information, but the aft deck is called the poop deck. it originates from the roaman word, puppis wich means stern of the ship.
