- Mississauga's waterfront transformation. Mark McAllister on how the plans for a new space to live, work and play reflect the community's vision, and where they part ways. Plus, the hurdles ahead for the Lakeview Village plan.
Really neat. I mean no normal person will be able to afford to live there; but it'll be nice to walk around
Lakeview Village in Mississauga will be a great place for Mississaugans to live and/or work near the shore of Lake Ontario for the future.
Make beautiful buildings, with human size squares. Make it on a human scale ...much like Rome, Munich or Prague.
And the only way in and out of the area is a 2 lane street thats packed fender to fender already, before any of these condos get built. You’ll need 1 hour to exit your parking garage. Lol
That was the first thing on my mind as well how to manage the morning traffic 😱
as a neighbor I'm really looking forward to this, the outdoor theatre should be fun.
whats wrong with the drive in... oh.
Hope it enhances Mississauga more beautiful
Can you actually swim or even sit near Lake Ontario? When I lived near Port Dalhousie, across the lake in the 90s, I couldn’t stand going near that lake. Stink was terrible. I live on Lake Huron now. So much nicer
I won't swim at that area. Not only is Lake Ontario known as one of our dirtier lakes, the treatment plant nearby just adds to the water quality. But, I dont mind the proposal. The whole plans are in Missisauga's development website (you might have to spend some time digging online if you're not familiar).
It looks so boring. They have a chance to build something extraordinary but it looks like it could be anywhere. They need to better.
Toronto need at least one of this community every single year not one every 10 years
this is pretty exciting, i was shocked to see the signs showing the future plans! i wonder if mississauga will finally have a genuine "downtown" area, since the very forced "downtown" square one area is totally desolate and has zero night life or walkability,
Its getting there. 33 towers with plenty business space is planned for the area within the next 15 years
@@KasimirStanley That's very exciting. I'm a Torontonian born and raised, but I love seeing progress and growth in the surrounding areas. Can't wait to see the Mississauga skyline in 20 years!
Get ready for smart cities and 5g, yayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy
How is everything a conspiracy to u Jesus
Y'all will make everything a conspiracy theory lol
@@ahmedessa1364 dude is that what you got out of it, I literally said cities and 5g
Yes you are right exactly!
Then next is to make everything experience so only rich can afford
Wow it's sure is gonna look so nice after when its done
My pride and joy of Mississauga had died with COVID-19.
No way I would want to live that close to the sewage treatment plant🤢🤮
i think after Covid we will see alot more commercial areas converted to Residual areas
Looks great!
This is ambitious.
that is so cool
Cool
I brought fill to that area, their is a lot of garbage dumped their, I wouldn’t live their
BS. The fill is at the conservation area next door which was overseen by the conservation authority!! Do you really think they would accept garbage?? What you carried was fill (concrete, etc) from other demolished sites to build up the ponds for aquatic life. Read about online and you'll see. And in the future check you spelling man!
More congestion and pollution. Pathetic , not agreeing to this
Lots of parkland, wide sidewalks, plenty of landscaping. I personally love the plan. Better than leaving it empty.
Then the city life isn't for you, my friend.
You're a NIMBY relic. as long as you've got a home, everyone else can get lost. Your type is the reason why we can't get enough housing and prices keep climbing with what is just normal requirements for new housing in the GTA.
Great reporting! I hope they go back to the previous master plan, with the canal and good architecture.
Great but no Google city like the original plan downtown Toronto.
I hope it doesn't go through
