I’d highly recommend sub assembly with Sigvald. Easier to paint if you keep his head and capes seperate, just dry fit pieces together so you know the order to piece them back together, cape before shoulder pads etc.
Brilliant paint job mate. I think this is probably my favorite version of this paint job that I've seen out of all of the dozens I've watched so far. Cracking job Sir.
I’m using your recipe right now on Sigvald the only difference, is that I primed him using the new white scar, and I’m using Sigvald Burgandy on his cape.
@@Warhipster two thin coats!! Duncan is awesome your tutorials and his are my favorites, I’m still trying to decide whether I wanna use your contrast method of painting Be’lakor, or Duncan’s method.
Hi Mark! When I use metallics, I tend to use them from the pot using the dampness of the brush to help it flow. If I've got an older pot and it's a bit claggy, then I'll use just a little water on a palette to get it going.
Love your videos, Warhipster! I have one question, that I have a hard time figuring out. If anyone could help me understanding this it would be greatly appreciated. When painting the cloak you start out painting all of it Magos Purple. Then you paint all of it Volupus Pink afterwards. Then you paint all of it a thinned down Shyish purple. Then you paint large raised areas of the cloak a super thinned down screamer pink. Painting raised areas with screamer pink I get, since we want to create the brighter variations in these areas. But as for the 3 previous steps what's the thought process? I realize that painting the entire cloak with 3 different contrast paints on top of each other of course change the color, but how do you know in advance that this is what you want to do? And would we get the same result if we had just painted a single layer of a 4th (potentially non-existent) contrast paint instead, that has the desired color from the get go? Or is there another purpose for creating 3 layers of different contrast paints on top of each other than getting a specific final color?
It all comes from www.epidemicsound.com I get all my music from there. It's a stoxck music site that you pay a monthly sub to. It's awesome with tons of variety!
Lol, I disagree, if you think about it the music kinda fits Sigvald, you look at him, and at the surface he looks elegant, but inside he’s really a brutal psychopath.

I think that’s so damn good advice! I tend not to use sub-assemblies so some advice like this is always handy to have.
I wonder if any if this would've changed if Sigvald Burgundy was out at this time. Absolutely amazing as usual!
That is actually something in wondering myself
¡Gracias!

What you said at the end of the video. Pride isn't a sin, it's feeling fullfilled.
Sigvald is all about pride after all!

fantastic ! it was really cool to see you and Duncan paint the same model .
It’s always cool to see you’ve picked something to cover that the Lord of Layers is doing too.

How do you do such beautiful work? You truly are the master of contrast.
You’re too kind! I’d best not let my pride get the better of me though, lest I end up like old Sigvald here!
@@Warhipster now we wouldn’t want that.
Sensational, congrats!
Thank you very much!
Amazing work as usual, thinking of using this model for a custodes conversion
Thank you very much! That could be really interesting, what are you thinking of doing with it?
@@Warhipster haven’t planned too far ahead but simply replacing the head and the sword with one of their weapons would look good I think
Beautiful!
Can you do Curseling, Eye of Tzeentch in the future plz ?
Thank I you! I’ll get it added to the list of potential videos for you.
@@Warhipster Thx!
wow that's so good!!! I don't even like using regular pains any more lol
Thanks buddy! I don’t think I’ve painted a single model without Contrast since their release.
Hi Warhipster, If you use Metallic paints, do you use them right from the pot or do you thin them a little bit? We never see, how you mix your paints.

will you be painting any Warhammer quest cursed city?
I certainly will be and it now looks like it won’t be long until it arrives!
TALK ABOUT A GOLDEN DAEMON AM I RIGHT?? *snare* snare* crash cymbal*
you will paint something else in a slaanesh theme?
Quite possibly - I’ve a few things up my sleeve!
Beside the good tutorial the music was so calm. I generally felt myself calm down 😅 can i ask where you got it?
