Anthony i'm considering collecting Halo figures. Should I try to grab the last of the McFarline line, or should I just start with Mattel? Which do you prefer?
anthony, blue is my favorite color too. so, this air assault spartan is a 6 incher ... not bad for the lesser scale. the weapon should have had a better paint job and a 2nd handle to grip. the hand gun could have been better but overall the figure is tight. i'll look for it.
I might actually like this Mattel line more than the McFarlane line. I mean, the McFarlane figs are quality material but they are more for regular display or in the box only type figures. I'd definitely buy these for my little siblings to have fun with and also buy duplicates for myself for collecting.
Just found one of these on Clearance price. Looked cool so i grabbed it. I came here to see what exactly i got. Im not familiar w Halo(im 46). Reminds me of GI Joe for todays kids. Is that about right ?
Well, the main bad guys in the Halo franchise* isn't a terrorist faction like Cobra, but instead a group consisting of several alien species'; with a goal of activating a massive, technological, ring-shaped world known as "Halo". This group is known as "the Covenant". The Covenant believe that activating Halo 'will bring them to salvation', but really; Halo is a powerful weapon that is capable of eliminating all sentient life once activated. The good guys in the Halo franchise are known as the "United Nations Space Command" (or "U.N.S.C." for short); an international human military organization bound to protect Humanity and Earth. The U.N.S.C. must combat the Covenant and stop them from activating Halo. *Halo is a sci-fi gaming franchise primarily based on the First-Person-Shooter game genre. The franchise is based on the 26th century. Anyways, this figure you see in the review is a "Spartan"; a genetically-enhanced, super-soldier of the U.N.S.C.
the mattel halo line look like a vast improvement to the McFarland line I have a locke figure and my major complaint were the legs and very limited motion compared to previous figures in the halo line
I'm a bit naive regarding to the Halo franchise but I'm really interested and wondering, does this Mattel Air Assault Spartan action figure have the same look (armor/helmet/overall look) as the ODST? I'm thinking to buy this as part of my collection and as a reference for my drawing project P/S : Should I wait for the updated version of this figure? Cheers and thanks for the help
Thanks for the reviews! I only got two of the McFarlane Spartans and didn't really like them, but these guys. These guys you are really making me want to pick up!
I know this might seem stupid, but have you ever considered working at Mattel or Hasbro? I mean, you seem to know a lot about action figures and your customs are amazing
