Salmon Fly Fishing Beauly Club Water 6th May 2024.

Join me in my first trip on the club water this year. I intended on having a full day at it but got caught up doing things in the morning. I had a couple of hours after high tide to swing the fly in the hope of contacting one of the many fish know have been passing through recently.

Thanks for watching. It's a hydro controlled river so can have water when everywhere else doesn't. It's also a tidal stretch for the first 7 miles or so of the river.

Thanks for watching Matt. Yes it's the bit close to the campsite. I did have a small silver smolt that day also but it made a bit of a mess with the hook swam off strongly though.

Thanks for watching. I have a custom made fly rod which is a 14 foot rod made on a 9/10# blank from bloke fishing rods. The reel is a loop q reel 10-12 size with a short spey bloke switch line. I have a 10 foot slow sink tip on the end from airflow with about 4 or 5 foot of 19lb riverge flourocarbon on the end. Tight lines for your next trip.

New line was a short switch line from Bloke blanks I took a gamble getting that line but it's the same make as the blank and it seems to work well. Casting is a lot better in the next video when I got the hang of the line more.

@@Hardlinesangling interesting. I’ve got an 11ft bloke switch rod and the bloke switch line for it which I really like as a combo. Your casting is pretty sweet already !

@davidwaite815 it certainly seems one of the smoothest lines I've fished with. I have the 14 foot blank so I've figured out that I needed to leave a bit more of the head of the line out which loads that particular blank better.
