    The easiest drawstring bag tutorial I have tried. I am now churning them out for our Operation Christmas Child project.

    Great tutorial!! I also added the extra step of zig-zagging all the seams before turning right side out.

    Very thoughtful of you to use metric measures. As far as I am concerned you make the différence. 👏 from France.

    What a great tutorial! This is the second tutorial of yours that I've tried and they both turned out amazing, I love the production value of your videos, they're super easy to follow and thank you SO MUCH for the metric conversions, I've given up on so many other tutorials because I got annoyed by having to convert everything myself!

      It is! I would definitely recommend you to get a sewing machine. You can find decent second hand machines very inexpensively. It would make a dramatic difference in the speed and the variety of projects you can make

    Hello! Sorry for the question I am new. I'd like to make smaller sizes, how do I calculate how much fabric I need? for instance, in your video 8" x 18" fabric yielded a 7" bag. What about smaller sizes? Thank you so much I really appreciate the tutorial!

    As a beginner, I find this tutorial extremely helpful. However, I'm not sure if it's my cheap fabric or if this is normal, but threads come off the edges so I'm trying to figure out how to make it more polished. Could I double the seam width and fold them twice before sewing, or would that make the bag too bulky? Or should I invest in better fabric? Sorry if this is a dumb question, complete noob here. 😅

      You could try making a French Seam. This would stop the fraying. I’ve used French seams on the outside of slip covers. These seams, depending upon the width, can look like piping. You will find many uses for the French Seam. Good Luck. If I were with you, I’d help. I’ve been sewing on a machine since I was 5, sitting on my aunt’s lap. I’ll be 70 in a couple of months. Sewing is wonderful. Enjoy it.

      Do you have pinking shears? The other option is a rotary cutter using a pinking blade (this is what I use and I love it - so much faster and neater too!) It also looks great after. Whichever you have, trim the edges with either the shears or the pinking blade. You get a better finish with the rotary pinking blade, in my opinion, only because actual pinking shears are heavy and it's hard to eyeball a straight line edge.

    What size is the fabric to make a small bag like the pink one in the beginning of your video? Thanks for the tutorial!

    • @HelloSewing
      @HelloSewing  8 місяців тому +1

      For the mini bag you can try 5 x 15" for a finished bag approximately 4 x 6"

      I agree. Whenever there's text on the screen as well it's probably better to just use instrumental music instead of something that has singing in it as well. Sure you can turn the volume down, but why not provide feedback that can perhaps make someone's content better and reach more people?
