- Hello, and welcome to my first ever video! Today I take you onboard Etihad Airways's A320 for a flight over to Abu Dhabi from Athens in economy. How does the airline's mediocre reputation compare with my actual onboard experience? Find out in this trip report.

Congratulations for your first ever trip report. Very well-made for the first one. IFE on a narrowbody was awesome, not many airlines do so, and it’s a bit sad Etihad decided to stop. But without IFE, this A320 was still very nice. Liked and subscribed
Thank you, I appreciate the kind words! I agree Etihad took a step back removing screens but at least there is still the E-Box. Apart from that the seat is pretty comfortable and the service is actually quite good most of the time. I’m hoping now with this new terminal they can be revitalized to their once great position as one of the best airlines in the world

It's pretty sad to see that they have removed the IFE screens. Nonetheless, great video! I really hope to fly with EY one day! Liked and subbed :)
Rather agree that for a luxury airline that was among the top in the world only a few years ago, the decline has been rapid. As I mentioned, the E-Box serves as a pretty good replacement, but nothing truly replaces an actual large monitor in front of you. I do hope that, like United, they return to a position one day where they can add back/improve on some of the features they are abandoning. Thanks for the like and sub, and for watching!

Having flown on business with Etihad for many years, it’s quite striking to see how far things have fallen. Flew from LAX to Abu Dhabi on 777 never felt so cramped in my life in economy. Really was a tough 16 hours.
Sad I never got to fly their 777s or A330s but they really didn't look great on video. The 787 and A350 look to be somewhat of an improvement but still pale in comparison to their competitors over in Dubai, Doha, and even Istanbul. Thanks for watching!
Both are not great really. The 787-8 is not bad but the service you get is a shadow of its former self. I remember flying on an aging A330 on Etihad and the IFE was broken, it wasn’t a disaster as I had my laptop but frustrating.
cost cutting and bad investments really made Etihad a shadow of it's former self. I now always fly Qatar
Hey there quick question, did they have universal power plugs on the 320?
Hello! Unfortunately, Etihad does not have universal power plugs in A320 economy, and I assume that's the same for the A321 as well. As you saw, only USB ports are provided for every seat. I am not sure whether business class succumbed to the same fate when Etihad carried out their cabin overhauls, but I will be flying their A320 in business soon and should have a report out within a month. @@GenAvAviation Thanks for the reply, im going to fly on one of their A320s or A321s in about a month so I wanted to know if I can charge my camera, I have a 14 hour flight after wards and want to record everything to make trip reports, sad and unfortunate that cost cutting has gone this far, once again thanks for the reply, will be waiting for the business class vid!

No IFE?
Nope! Etihad began a program to retrofit all existing A320s in 2019 to not feature seatback entertainment in economy (there still are in business). Therefore no Etihad narrowbodies currently feature PTVs, however their 777s, 787s, and A350s most certainly still do.

Did they still serve you free tea and coffee after meals? Any more drink services after meal/ before landing? It is disappointing that they have removed so many services. Great video!
Hello! They were serving drinks throughout the flight for free, and I’m pretty sure that included tea and coffee, so you could order any drink on their menu when they came through with the cart for free. Apart from that one lunch service, there were no more, as this flight wasn’t really long enough for two meal services (only about four and a half hours). It is still sad that they removed features like the PTVs, but as far as these two flights are concerned, they retained their excellent service by the phenomenal cabin crew. Thanks for watching!

Question when with Etihad will start using A350s ?
Tony Douglas, the company’s CEO, has stated that Etihad plans to introduce the A350 into passenger operations sometime in 2022 (source: Simple Flying). Of course, that’s a very broad timeline, and things can change at any time, but I’ll be hoping for the type to be operating by next year. Thanks for watching!
