I loved how Capcom squeezed every bit of the PSX had to offer, even doing manual shortcuts for save loading times. They pulled a SFA2 for SNES. The winner is the Dreamcast, but the PSX has an A for effort.
With SFA2 on SNES they had to use a extra chip on the cart. This is the PS1 with no help.
@@saturndual32 I mean releasing the game in an inferior/past console. Like SNES when you had Win95/Saturn/PSX.
@@saturndual32 Technically extra ram is an extra chip on the cart making 90% of cartridge-based games applicable to the "with help" qualifier.
Andrew Vrba Very few games used extra RAM on carts. Were did you get tha 90% of cart games used extra RAM on the SNES era?
@@saturndual32 Typoed, That was supposed to be ROM. Which many games did.
Obviously, the Dreamcast version is better since is from a next generation hardware, but the PS1 is a impressive effort, especially for a system that struggled with ports of 32 bit fighting games.
Not to mention that the Dreamcast had the architecture of the arcade board that this ran on.
Ponto pra Capcom.

Dreamcast of course but impressive PlayStation showing. Wonder how Saturn would have handled it especially with 4meg cart.
Probably better than the Dreamcast version with the 4meg cart
Good as Dreamcast
@@tom11zz884 I doubt it, since CvS ran on NAOMI hardware, and as such, the DC port was essentially a 1:1 translation.
@@tom11zz884 lol yeah.. CvS is a NAOMI game, there is noway it can run it as flawless as the Dreamcast
This game probably would have needed a much larger RAM cartridge if it ran on Saturn, like 8MB or more at the least.
It's also funny as how at 20:05, the 2 sceneries from both versions seems to be an mirrored version of it other and therefore, they complete the whole scenario on the video screen, LOL!
Dreamcast for me, showing full Arcade style graphics and presentation oh and the quickest load times...the PS1 still impressive that IT can run it but with sacrifices..
Definitely Dreamcast over PSOne version when it comes to load times and presentation

The back ground levels are so much better thant part 2
I agree! Part 1 is a better game EXCEPT at characters & gameplay, plus part 1 has more stages while part 2 has only like 11. Part 2 stages & presentations are WEAK; however, when it comes to playing with a group of people part 2 is the game to play
@@defendpolicedefunddemokkkr6976 C'mon, you guys don't think CvS2 has good backgrounds and presentation? Aomori, Shanghai and London was more memorable than any CvS1 had
I used to think this too but CVS 2 has better looking backgrounds due to how they masterfully used 3D but these backgrounds are more fun to watch. The Omega Rugal stage may be the sickest looking one over all.

A Saturn version would have been awesome
Ohhh yeah???
I don't think so, sure, closer to Naomi, but I don't expect that much better than PS1
What? Have you ever seen a comparison on any 2d games? The Saturn port of street fighter alpha (zero) 3 was better than the Dreamcast... And I'm a huge Dreamcast fan
Highly doubt the Saturn would be able to handle the background graphics of the stages
@@tom-ot8kg the 2d backgrounds would be to much for the Saturn?
I'm still mad that I bought the (US non-Pro) Dreamcast release new from EB Games, took it home, it wouldn't load past to even the character select past the menu, took it back to EB within less than 2 hours of buying it; they wouldn't take it as a return; and, they would only offer me a ridiculously low price to buy it back. I kept the un-working disc and never bought anything ever again from that EB Games, even though I had been going there for years. I still have that disc, even though it doesn't work. I never did buy another copy of CvS for the Dreamcast, though I did pick up the PS1 port on a whim later on.
You could have just burned a pro copy free
shotgunl Should have contacted Capcom instead or try a different EB.
Dreamcast looks arcade perfect, look at the shadows.
The Dreamcast was truly a great console of the early 2000's.
The reason why this Dreamcast renders so well because it was based on the Sega NAOMI acrade system.
Not a bad port for the PS, but the DC is superior for sure. We need CVS3 and an HD remake of this.
Definitely dreamcast version but PS1 port so impressive I feel proud of being a owner of PS1
Did Capcom use polygon hits to give characters more animation for PSX version like they did for Street Fighter Zero 3?
Thanks so much for uploading this! I freaking love this game and think that taking into consideration that the PS1 was still a 5th gen console running this game as well as is, it's very impressive and Capcom deserves all the pros for their accomplishment. Gameplay is fast and fluid, animation looks great, and all characters and special moves are present. Could you next maybe make a comparison video with JoJo Bizarre Adventure (another amazing port for the PS1) and Marvel vs Capcom 1? Keep up the good work!
Certeza
Fácil kkk
Até sem ficaria. Saturn já tem o dobro de ram que o PS1
Dreamcast was a beast you always got a Arcade port of the game or the closet to it
Has there been a Street Fighter Alpha 3 comparison between the PS and DC versions?
Joguei demais!
Had so much fun playing the psx port when I had a hacked PSP and downloaded it onto there
Dreamcast calmly dismantled its opponent once again.
I should hope so...it came out 5 years later and is way more powerful lol
No sh!t, it was 1 generation above the PS1, Dreamcast was in the same league as the PS2, thus Code Veronica being released for both.
Are going to do cvs2 in the future?
Seeing as the Dreamcast version basically uses the same hardware as the arcade version just slightly downgraded it is basically arcade perfect. The PS1 version is very close overall much like the version of Street Fighter Alpha 3 that was on there. Eventually Capcom got much better at programming on the system after struggling with 2D games early on.
I love this game. Im one of many in the SNK Cult that can say I was already informed about SNK before playing this. But anyway let me identify the differences in both of these versions of the game.
For the Dreamcast: From what i'm seeing, it's an arcade perfect port. No graphical downgrades, little to no reduced frame animations, everything is there. But I have yet to play the arcade version since my PC sucks lol. Now for the PS1?PSX/Psone version, in there there are frame animations missing, backgrounds are more simplified with less graphical outputs, and the stages in there no longer have their stage intros like on Dreamcast. Even the menus in the game have been graphically donwgraded as well like the backgrounds for the character select, offline leaderboards, the cursor not glowing green by a horizontal gradient as quickly as the one on Dreamcast etc. However, I dare say that even the PS1 port is actually a decent port. You wouldn't be getting the whole entire arcade experience, but you get enough of it to the point where you don't feel like you're missing out (Unless you're one of those people who love graphics so much you just need to have he best graphics, not that it's a problem).
As much as i love playing the PS1 version (mostly because i never knew this was on Dreamcast and when i did, i assume it as the same), i personally suggest you stick with the Dreamcast version if you want the full arcade experience. If not then you'll have fun playing the PS1/PSX/PSone version too.
Yeah, you can tell The PlayStation was trying it's best. The FPS was in 30 instead of 60 (with the intro cutscene. & it has no stage cinematic/transition intros on the PSX port) & slightly bad Audio System. & the resolution is slightly off by looking at the Health Bars and by looking at the Super Meters. & of course the loading times. I have to say the Sega Dreamcast won this. But we at least need to give The PlayStation a shoutout for using so much efforts to use all it's potential. 'Cause that's pretty freaking crazy to see a console that dropped in stores in 1994 just to use all this power that it's giving.
me and my boys would play this on dreamcast at home but the PSone version with the screen at school, shit was so much fun
Dreamcast is the best
As a person that's kinda been looking into old fighting gaming, it's almost hard to believe that this came out on the ps1.
Very nice PS1 port! Don't be fooled by today monitors. At 480i on CRTs, PS1 version looks great!
Damn that bison stage is so badass
I have the Japanese version of the Dreamcast version and everything about this game is awesome. I even have capcom vs snk 2
Does anybody know to access Ryu's night mode stage with jazzy music and purple background on dreamcast? Literally my favorite street fighter stage. There's like a secret to access it without manually selecting it
You have to purchase it using the vs points.
PS1 was 1993 tech released at the end of 1994.......it had 2mb of main ram and 1mb of video ram with a 2x cd drive... it is amazing what they pulled off since almost all the old capcom fighting game ports to the ps1 played really bad compared to the saturn.
In your opinion which is more impressive, this or Darkstalkers 3?
FIFA
Madden
WWE
Need for speed
The PSone version had some great artwork and loading screens exclusive to the system here. The people who ported this did not slack one bit, and worked with what they had to the point where they have a passable game. Obviously the DC had impressive exclusives as well, and better graphics thanks to it being the next generation console. That of course doesn't make either game better than other and I'm definitely curious to see how they both play for myself. This is a game I skipped, or never really added to my library. It looks great though, and I should add it.
A Capcom Milagreira dos Anos 90! Fez o milagre do Street Fighter 2 20mb no PC-Engine, do Super Street Fighter 2 40mb no Mega Drive, do Street Alpha 2 de CPS2 no Super Nintendo, esse do vídeo em questão... Fora o Super Street Fighter 2x de 3DO e o Alpha 3 de Saturn, Pocket Fighter no Wonderswan... Tá maluco!
faltou citar Resident Evil 2 no Nintendo 64
Tem o Resident Evil no Zeebo. Conta?
Show, muito show, maravilha nesses games, parabéns a todos.
It's kinda a miracle PS1 being able to handle it. Hence the abusive loading screens also.

Legal a dimensão do trem maior no Dreamcast. Porém o cenário ficou muito bonito no psx

Dreamcast's hands down! It was like having an arcade at home..
Very impressed with the PS version but the Dreamcast is the clear winner. Smoother in every way and has all the flash I would expect from the DC. So glad I had this version back in the day
Character select screen music is top notch
I miss the stage intro's the king of fighters used to do them also
I have both version, while the DC is the best, I really like the PS1 port, it's impressive what they acheived considering so many other fighting games had issues with the 2MB ram limitation.
The Dreamcast version is the definitive one, on PlayStation it was only a Capcom charity but it was still enjoyed. For me this game is cult and a great collector's item for whoever owns it. Excellent game and the best crossover ever.
I love the PS1 version wasted lots of hours of it.. damn memories! I just got the dreamcast version and oh boy it's times 2 better!
Well Dreamcast but I respect the PS1 version for it's colors, character size, and effects. However at the @5:00 and @12:00 mark you really see how the additional memory and processing power allows for additional background elements, and resolution. Most stages you can see the difference in floor resolution sharper textures, and more detail foliage on the DC version. The one stage I thought the PS1 looked better was the exploded tanker stage. The lighting effects on the DC characters was a distraction. Other than that, DC on top.

Capcom vs snk my favorite video game and I had it for both Dreamcast and PlayStation. Of course to compare them and how to compare gold with lead. It is obvious that the Dreamcast wins.
Kinda odd how they couldn't just port the game to PS2 instead then it'll be almost on par with the Dreamcast version.
It still would be leagues below the Dreamcast because the Dreamcast ran on the same hardware that the arcade machines had.
if I were you, I would compare the Japanese versions.
There is alot of the typical PS1 dithering, that isn't ideal on a 2D game (I know, composite video would have merged the dithering but still..). Other than that, it's an impressive game for the hardware.
I wonder which one sold better. The DC is the best version, but the PS1 had such a huge installed base.
You know, with fighting games like this one, Marvel Vs Capcom, and Jojo's Bizarre Adventure that released on both PS1 and Dreamcast, I really wonder how the Saturn would've fared.
the psx doing kaioken x20 to handle that game

Interessante comparar as diferenças, ótimo video
Wooow 😯😮
It should be mention that the PS1 version of Capcom vs SNK Pro was released in 2002, 1 year after the Dreamcast version was released and Capcom vs SNK 2 including its initial ports were released in 2001. So I guess Capcom wanted PS1 users to experience the Capcom vs SNK goodness without ever owning a Dreamcast or a PS2 even if the PS1 version was inferior to the Arcade and Dreamcast versions and the PS1 itself was in its twilight years by the time the PS2, Xbox, and Gamecube were released much in the same vein as the one from Street Fighter Alpha 2 on SNES or any other games that does this albeit varying degrees quality and effort or just outright same name different game like Call of Duty Black Ops 3 on the Xbox 360 and PS3, Just Dance 2020 on Wii, Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 4 on PS1, FIFA 14 on PS2, etc. Although the PS1 version was developed by Klein Computer Entertainment or/and Capcom, I'm not sure which one is true but you get the point. I mean the PS1 version was clearly the inferior version in terms of graphics, sounds, presentation, and has long loading times but overall it's not half bad and the gameplay is still intact. I mean they could definitely port Capcom vs SNK Pro to the PS2, but then again the sequel and its initial ports where released in 2001. So I guess Capcom saved some money in order to port Capcom vs SNK Pro to the outdated PS1 and release it on 2002 instead.
Voltei 20 anos no tempo 🤣
The presentation was better than CVS2 in my opinion.
I dont like the way of your comparisons. You are playing 2 videos at the same time so we hear mash up of sounds and cannot clearly recognize them. We also can't focus on two screens at the same time. But I see you are trying to play a game as similar as it possible. So why dont you show one screen and then another instead?
The only gripe I have with the PS1 version is with those tacky looking load screens inbetween fights. They could have just put a logo of the game in the center and keep the "now loading" consistent with the other font that appears in game. It looks completely detached from the rest of the games graphics and really tickles my OCD :) Otherwise, it`s really impressive what they managed to squeeze out of PS1`s measly 2 megs of ram.
