Scholarships at DU: Oliver Martinez-Reyes' Story | University of Denver

Oliver Martinez-Reyes is a scholarship recipient at the University of Denver. At a young age, his mother instilled in him the importance of being a high-level communicator even in a country that was not native to his family. Oliver was awarded a scholarship to DU for high academic achievements and has become a first-generation college graduate. This opportunity not only shifted Oliver’s perception about attending college, but also the awareness of his sisters who aim to attend DU as well. Now, as a recent graduate, Oliver has secured a job with the Walt Disney Company pursuing a career in finance.

Let me tell you something, I went here. They dont give you the same amount as you get closer to graduating. They know they have you over a barrell because transferring would delay graduation and be a headache. They get seniors to take out loans, its not transparent at all and nobody realizes until they're a senior.
