Recently, One Blade Magazine hosted it's annual awards including the prestigious "Skater of the Year" award for 2023. While there are a number of professional inline skaters deserving of this honor, I wanted to share my personal selection: Julien Cudot. 2023 was a monster year for Cudot, who won a number of high profile competitions including Fise, Winterclash, the Franky Morales Invitational, and more. He also released one of the best skate park VOD's ever produced (Heads-Up), along with a full length documentary Foot Moon.

Great vid, Im also grateful for these styles of edits, the story adds to the clip/stunt/trick. I like how you articulate the sport of blading, makes one appreciate the vastness of the larger community and feel just a bit part of something bigger.

Even if Julien isn’t your favourite skater, if you put aside personal preferences and vote objectively, this choice is blindingly obvious.
I voted for Kelso but at the end of the day it's so subjective to what you value in skating. I think so many skaters crushed this year but Kelso I just watched over and over so I chose him.

Butch youre actually correct. Julien kicked everyone into submission. He also repairs French and American affairs by showing up on the Jumbo channel. He showed up at soo many comps

@@blondhelmet agree!! I was kidding. Cudot overall easily put a spanking on everyone including himself. Like he didn't take it easy at comps. He had my homie Hornish just wanting to relax when he started cranking it. Julien even showed up in Texas on the Jumbo channel. He proved to do it all last year.
