Pokémon Gold Version and Pokémon Silver Version were the first core series games of Generation II for the Game Boy Color. Unlike earlier games, Pokémon Gold and Silver take place in the Johto region, west of the region that the original games take place in, Kanto. However, Kanto can be traveled to later in the games. Pokemon Gold and Silver were followed shortly by a solitary version with minor changes, Pokémon Crystal, as well as remakes two generations later in the form of Pokémon HeartGold and SoulSilver for the Nintendo DS. The games were released on the Nintendo 3DS Virtual Console on September 22, 2017. The Current World Record for the Any% Glitchless speedrun is 3 hours, 13 minutes and 46 seconds by Gunnermaniac. Any% Glitchless means that you beat the game as fast as possible, without using glitches. Feraligatr is used in the Pokemon Gold Speedrun, as it evolves early, has great stats and can learn great moves.

RNG seed from power on is always the same, so if you perform the same inputs, and land events on the same frames, the same things will happen

I remember seeing the Red Gyarados at Lake Of Rage, and the first time, I just defeated it, because I thought it would turn blue after catching it, but I saw my brother catch it, and when he used it, it was still red. I remember when I started over, due to Game Shark corruption, I did catch the Red Gyarados, and then used it as my pokemon. There are other Shiny Pokemons, and it's hard to encounter another one since they're rare.

If this game is called Pokemon Gold Version, why did you put the title as Pokemon Gold/Silver Speedrun? I know they're mostly similar, but the difference is the pokemon that appear in the area and the level Lugia and Ho-Oh are at are switched around, so the area I get the wings for them are switched around. I'm not sure if there's another difference, but that's all I know.
