- We take a trip to the stomping grounds of hot-rodding and street racing to Pontiac Michigan for Roadkill Nights! We got invited last minute to try our hand at qualifying in the top 8 fastest street/small tire cars from around the country. We got to meet familiar faces like Westen Champlin and Alex Taylor, and many others that have the same passion for racing! We got to line up with none other than the fastest streetcar in the world A.K.A Tom Bailey in his BBC Camaro. We hope you enjoy our perspective from a weekend full of crazy memories.

I was standing behind the guys that was reading the times. You could see the times for both lanes. I only seen your last pass it was 4.45 but it’s not a true 660’ and you start before the beam like you said. 8th place was a 4.61 I know this because we didn’t make the show either and knew we would be close. We ran a 4.67 I just asked the guys doing the time so we could compare for our own curiosity. So you did get screwed because we couldn’t believe you didn’t make it in the show after seeing your time and knowing 8th place

I think that guy had no right to talk to a driver who is driving at the race like he did Billy, I'm glad his old man wasn't there because he's a no BS guy, especially if someone is talking to his sons like he did, I think maybe we will probably hear from the old man about this, be interested in hearing his opinion.

i hope you take another shot at it next year. the falcon looked fast! Personally, i have no clue how the racing/timing system is run as I'm not involved in it. Your explanation of the staging makes a lot of sense, though, and could explain the discrepancy in ET for your car vs others.

Being a fan of both SRC and Finnegan's garage I very much appreciate the fact that Finnegan stepped up and commented on the situation.
If they do I'll bet at least one time they will be told to move further towards the line at least once. The reason I say that is without testing the limit you don't know where you stand. One things for sure, SRC won't get caught out on this again.

RMRW has an 1/8mile class called Rowdy Radial. It's 1/8m on a 275 radial.

unfortunately, they won't "reach out". This kind of "politics" is so prevelant in a race like this, it would be a bad look for them to own up to it. I saw westin champlin in one of billys shots of the race. Hes one of them that roadkill garage gave a bunch of money and a car to build for this event, its on his channel, im sure he "made it"

Lol, last thing any street racer should be crying or whining about is "fair racing", in the street there is no such thing, and is exactly why it is conducted in the streets, and not on true chrondek timing, real lights, using all the greatest tech and innovation developed over decades and decades of sanctioned track racing.
Cheating the guy in the other lane on a sketchy surface is the entire street racing game! Lol, not fair, gimme a break, this is not Jr. HIGH.
What were the terms of the invite. Did they say try out for the show, or ever promise anyone that the fastest 8 cars in an actual fair competitive drag racing event would continue on to appear in the show?
@@garylucier6817 you mentioned about the lighting system is the greatest thing but in reality real street racing was done with no electric lighting system it was done by arm drops or flashlight and you also mentioned something about sanctioned racers when it's a sanctioned race they already have there fastest 8 already picked and from that 8 they have there winner's chosen already so basically yes the boys did get screwed from a political bullshit event that had there 8 chosen and 1winner show.
If it legit is the timing system, then the organizers need to control the situation at the starting line. Double stripe starting line and the front tire or bumper, whichever they go off for win, needs to be between the line. The goal for them should be a level playing field and see who can run what. Not who can cheat the system. Qualifying standings should be public knowledge also
I think everyone knows the roadkill/hot rod/Fenigan/Bailey are all joined at the hip and it's just the way it is. You'll always be the fricken new guy and it will take years to get a seat at the table. Not a race I'd even want or need to participate in. Nice work guys and congrats for the trip out there.

I was honestly stumped when I didn't see you guys in the top 8. You were definitely putting in faster times that most of the MAK guys. But with an event like that. It's more about who you know and how it helps them. Sad to see, but you guys really proved you can hang with a big tire car! Keep it up and keep it humble. You're doing it right! 👍🏻

I am impressed with the engine in the Falcon. That thing has kicked ass for quite a while now with minimal work done to it. Hats off to the builder. He knows his stuff.
Billy always has a killer reaction time. That combined with the falcon being dialed, is a hard combination to beat. No matter who’s racing against them, Im always rooting for the src family. Great job guys!

Somebody must have clued the MAK guys in about the timing system before the race as they were all staging well behind the line. I saw them doing that in the live feed and was wondering why they did that. Live and learn I guess.

Austin is the only person along with Wilson that could possibly give the falcon a run on the street. Not discrediting them, but I’ve never seen MAK pull the falcon at any of the no prep events , live and learn, you did your best all that matters.
They’ve been there many times and are smart racers.

Great video guys. I am bummed, as I know you were, that you weren't put into the shootout. I'm gonna guess that you may have witnessed your first "big name. TV show" snub... Something like this could, very well, have had some predetermined winners/deals with certain racers, sponsors, who knows... All I can say is that you guys did your usual great job of showing up, performing at a high level, & representing your brand and family with dignity. I'M from Michigan myself and beleived i have watched everyone of your videos and have been subscribed to your Channel for as long as I can remember probably since you started also follow Tom Bailey Steve Morris Cletus McFarland and many others but very glad to see that you made it to Michigan. I am disabled and it makes it hard for me to get out to events like this wish I would have been able to have seen you guys and watch the falcon fly. I'm an old guy that watches your channel and your dad's, same age as your dad, my son is same age as Billy, yeah goes without saying, you ran that close to Tom Baileys car on his streets and him on big tire and what turned down 2000 HP. You had that race covered from beginning to end, hope that roadkill goes back, looks at it closely and make it right somehow and someway. God bless you all.

Watched the whole thing (all the qualifying) online and there is NO way there were 8 small tire cars in that group quicker/faster than the Falcon. I would put money on it! In terms of times being the deciding factor in the top 8, you got robbed. If there were other considerations involved, then that sucks. The car was ROLLIN and it was good to see you guys there.

This is the kind of events where they play favorites for sure and I'll definitely be saying something to tom and Mike about the line and timing system at a minimum .. when I see them I am pissed, that's wrong you were literally as fast as the fastest big tire car almost, a half a car and none of the other top small tire cars were anywhere near as fast as him or you besides fensler and Martin it was so noticeable just by eye I didn't even need to see a draggy to know you were 5 mph or more faster.. if it was just a home track up the road it wouldn't be as big of a deal but you guys travel all the time and put so much work and money into these cars just like anybody else and then some because you got three of them to keep going

Did they average a time of the 4 runs? If that’s the case the round you spun and lifted would have killed you if that’s the case.
But yes the deep staging thing and the sensors set up that way is F’d up.
That Falcon has done nothing but put in work since you e had it. That was a fantastic investment. It also seems as though it’s done what it’s done with fairly minimal maintenance as well.

Hey guys! Absolutely loved this vid!! Great content! And I believe that y'all did get the short end of the deal. To Tommy, the stock car that you and Rob were looking at in the Henry Ford museum, belonged to Wendell Scott. Mr. Scott was the first black or African-American stock car driver. I'm proud to call him a fellow Virginian. He was born and raised in Danville, Virginia. There was a movie made about him called Greased Lightning, with Richard Pryor playing Mr. Scott. It's a great movie. Imho I believe he(Mr. Scott) would side with you guys about getting screwed over. Keep rolling out the great content. Keep doing y'all. I knew the valve springs were going to help big time but I think that crack you welded on the wastegate merge helped almost as much as far as why it's making so much more power probably 50/50 because I've had that happen on my wastegate a few times over the years from a lot of wheelies and coming down a little harder than I'd like a few times

After watching the comparison videos, I can't believe they said you didn't make it into the top 8! The timing system has got to be the reason why because the Falcon was flying! You were definitely on a mission with the Falcon to be out on Tom and then only be a fraction behind him at the finish, and him being the fastest big tire.
