Peace and Love, Farhan! Really excited to get to read Castle in the Stars, that one I haven't tried yet. The other two I've read and loved. I take it you're a fan?
A couple notes from someone who regularly orders from Book Outlet: As you are aware, BO is located in Canada and Canada recently cut down on waste. One time use things (starbucks, take out etc) all have extra fees added on, you have to pay for all bags and they have to be paper, paper straws etc. Anyway all that to say the reason why they no longer include "padding" has a lot to do with the recent waste bylaws. BO gets remainder books, these are generally overstock from the publisher/retail store OR damaged (usually just superficial blemishes). If you are a collector or someone who is picky about the edition or condition they get their books in then book outlet is probably NOT the place for you. BO is located in Canada. I believe they do have a warehouse in the US but i dont know how many orders are sent out from there. Most American's i see ordering from them seem to get their stuff shipped via Canada. Anyway.... as we all know there is a border between Canada and the US and because orders have to go through customs, orders going to the US are just going to take longer. I think a lot of Americans forget that Canada is still international to them so you should expect the same shipping time as if you were ordering from say the UK. Oh also if you email directly after placing an order they usually can adjust the quantity if you ordered duplicate copies of something. They wont be able to add or take off titles entirely but if you order 2 copies of something and only want 1 then they should be able to fix it as long as you email them fast enough.
I appreciate the insight into this. I wasn't aware of the recent change of the laws regarding packing materials but, at least in the case of this order, I feel like the books for the box well enough that they weren't shifting around. BO is pretty straightforward about the fact their books are all remaindered so that part shouldn't come as a surprise to people. I've put in a few orders over the years from BO and I've always been happy with the outcome, wanted to make this video as I've seen a lot of people ask things like "are they legit" and "how's the packaging?" When they come up. As long as you know what you're getting into, they're a recommended service.
It's a crapshoot depending on inventory. They've been sitting on this current Boom lot for a bit, but I've seen times where they have a bunch of Marvel omnis and hardcovers, seen times with some comic strip box sets, seen times when there's nothing really at all. They're good for a gamble from time to time.
I ordered 4 packages from them last year at one point and each one had at least one item with major damage and a fair share of minor damage. Looks like yours arrived better than mine did! Mind you, all but I think one or two were paperbacks as opposed to hardcovers, so much easier to damage. If I order from them in the future, I'll just make sure to remind myself to expect "reader copies" of the books.
Yeah, I was pleasantly surprised by the condition of all the books. I think I mentioned it in the video but I've had paperbacks with big creases in the cover before. Nothing's ever affected the readability, but it seems like hardcovers seem to fair better from them. As long as you're not expecting anything in pristine condition you should be fine
I think the worst I had was X-Men Gold Vol. 1 TPB literally hanging off the inner spine of the book with a bunch of store stickers on the back cover. The entire binding was separated. Too bad, too, because I got the rest of the series elsewhere and they are all in nice condition otherwise.
I think it's been like 2 years since I've purchased from Hamilton. Got a whole bunch of Mike Grell Green Arrow trades from them and ... maybe nothing else? Their selection doesn't change very often and the discounts are often pretty bad. I've seen a whole bunch of listings for 25% off, which isn't doing it for me on a liquidation website. Very unlikely an HB haul/review will be upcoming.
@@bunkmastab You probably got the same 5 volumes of Green Arrow from them that I did in 2020! Usually Hamiton gets new stuff once a month, but not always at the same time. Sometimes there are a lot, other times maybe only 10 books.
@@newspooiechannel yeah, I get their emails and anytime I see an update I always check their stock. Between the increased prices and limited stock, I haven't really even been tempted
@@bunkmastab I wait til they have a few things I want and do a bulk order. Other times I put stuff in my cart or wish list and hope it is still there. I had some damaged/remainder stuff come from them as well, but other times I get stuff entirely in pristine condition!
Oooh irredeemable, castle in d stars n giant days! Nice one Ben, cheers mate!

I haven't thought of Coheed and Cambria in years. Thanks for the share, they look pretty good for that kind of discount.

And heck yeah to Coheed, they still put on a great show.
Nice haul!
Thanks! Surprised it's in as good condition as it is
