hi, these are the Symptoms for my sharp tv model lc-65n7004y i see the sharp logo at power up, it is brighter on the left than the right, i have no sound, i tried the flashlight test and see nothing, the power light is a 5 long and 2 short then the power light goes to red. i have changed the power board and there is not change thank you
If the Sharp logo comes on, and sound is working, tv menus are working but the entire screen is mostly blue color - does it mean that LED’s need to be replaced as you’ve shown there?
I actually had a good time and enjoyed fixing mine like you said you just have to be very careful and it is kind of stressful a lot of screws the first time I did it I put it all back together and I forgot to put the diffuser cap back on worst feeling ever had to take it all back apart again put it back on and put it all back together again lol and I did it on the floor like you so it's a little rough on the back if you have a huge table that would be ideal
This worked spot on for me on my Sharp LC-50LB370U. Thanks Newsons Electronics. It just seemed likely the the LEDs were to blame. Sure enough I had 3 bad ones (although in hindsight I should have checked the power supply first as the amount of work involved to get to the LEDs is significant). I didn't have a heat gun but managed with a micro torch after practicing a bit on scrap steel of similar thickness. Of course as someone else mentioned there is still the possibility another LED will fail soon. Indicator-type LEDs can last a generation but it seems the higher the power the less reliable they become.
I have a sharp lc55ub30u that has a power light but no screen glow or any signs of life if i press power it acts like it wants to turn on but that's it it doesn't get any backlight or if i hold a flashlight to it doesnt show picture i replaced all the boards inside the chassis what is causing this? surely it couldn't be the leds could it?
Great video BTW, any chance you know what the voltage for the led is coming from the power supply ? I would like to test it befor I bother ripping it apart. I have video I can see it in the dark with a flash light, and I have sound. Just no back light
I have the same tv I tested the led connector I got 68.5 volts each for led 1 and led 2 I hope those are the correct voltages since they are not labeled on the board
So I have a similar model the backlight went out but the sound and picture remain(can see when I shine a flashlight) which board should I try to replace
Hi was wondering weather or not it’s cheaper just to replace my 60 inch as it’s lights have blown but I can hear and everything else but not see anything
What if the led lights up but is only half brightness and also I heard it it is just one or two led you can solder over them to bridge the connection, is this true?
Hi there- I’m 99.9% sure this is the same issue I’m having with my same model of tv. What would you charge for this repair- I’m located in Hamilton so not too far. Thanks :)
@@NewsonsElectronics i have 5v, and with flashlight i see picture. I took it apart and found that led strips are fine. Ordered replacement power board. Will see if will make difference.

What a genius idea to use a ice cube tray as a screw holder! The multiple trays inside help with screw management as well! Thank you for the video!
thanks
Really helpful bro saving me well over $300 the repair shop was gonna charge me. I appreciate the video brother.
ICE CUBE TRAY WAS GENIUS

3V

as long as all the leds light up it is fine that voltage is for one strip in series.
@@NewsonsElectronics ok that's what I needed to know the strips won't light and the voltage was 68.5 so that means new led strips . Thank you
@@Ibelieve218 you can just replace the broken leds like in the video as well

its not a board it;'s the lights under the LCD screen
Use an led tester and test the LEDS the wires will come through the metal bezel
Any way of removing the led without a heat gun? I have a soldering iron
just snip it off with a cutter tool

Will these LEDs work for a SHARP LC-43LB481U?
yes I believe so the only two types of led I saw 3V and 6V but 3V is more common
Thanks bro
no prob
What if the led lights up but is only half brightness and also I heard it it is just one or two led you can solder over them to bridge the connection, is this true?
you can\t solder over them because they will then drive at a higher voltages eg. the other leds will go.
You go ahead with that idea and you will regret doing so as you blow out the rest of the Leds due to increase voltage and current.
Do you know the voltage rating of those led? i am told some have 3V or 6V
3V @ 1 WAtt
Great video! Would you consider selling a few LEDs?
they are ready to go

for 50" TV it would be around $80 but I am closed for the moment, you can check newsonselectronics.ca for more info.
How did you find that it was not power supply?
does it have standby voltage of 5v is so it' probably good. If you can see a faint image with a flashlight your power supply is fine.

@@YuDaMan both should work as long as they are 1W rated
They can’t be 3cm for a tv backlight led, it’s 3mm, if it was 3cm then they would be huge
