Every time I see speed drawings like this, they encourage me to draw even more to reach your level. I just wonder how long it'll take for me to reach that level... How long have you been drawing and what do you suggest I should work on most to reach your level of art?

-and was the 2b pencil the only pencil you used? (sorry for all the questions)
And one last thing: thank you for sharing this video. It sometimes takes me up to 4 hours to do a pencil drawing (head to toe, so it's a bit larger than the one you have here) and lately it's been getting me down that it takes me so long... like I should somehow be some kind of genius and not make so many mistakes).

Vicky Santa Cruz it's just a method of shading. Some use brushes some use stumps and their fingers. Unless she is using something like graphite powder i think it's just a plain brush. I use brushes myself for pencil drawings.

I have a question about the brush you use though, is it a natural bristle brush that you use similar to a paper stomp? The result looks really smooth, so got a bit curious :)

How can a 2B mechanical pencil look that true to black? Special leads? Or just contrast in the video editing?
Why do you erase so many times? Doesn't it make the paper unsmooth and the pencil markes left behind?
I do pencil drawings and I find that the lead smudges onto the other paper when I close my book and I was wondering if there was a way to prevent that it just annoys me when I open my sketch book and there's lead everywhere XDDD
SaltyMisfitJozy you can apply a layer of fixative, that would keep it from smudging. Takes away that graphite shine too
