Great review and ideal for people who can't install an outdoor antenna. For best FM reception it is recommended an outdoor antenna and the antenna must be mounted vertically to receive FM and HD Radio (if your radio has this feature) with no problems. In my case I use a 3 elements FM Yagi antenna mounted vertical and I receive all 25 channels available in my area, 23 can be received in stereo and the last two only in mono since both are broadcasting from far away.

An FM antenna can receive VHF channels especially VHF High Band or VHF Band 3, and some VHF Low or VHF Band 1. As for UHF only some strong stations can be received. 15 years ago a friend of mine had a 4 element Yagi FM antenna and could receive VHF High Band TV analog channels with crystal clear picture, and some UHF channels especially on 471 MHz and 514 MHz with a good picture (there was a little static). As for VHF Low there were no TV channels available.
In Europe all countries are using UHF band for digital TV DVB-T2 (Digital Video Broadcast) and VHF High Band is for digital radio DAB+ (Digital Audio Broadcast), and some people use the Yagi FM antenna mounted vertically to receive both FM and DAB+ radio stations. A VHF-UHF combiner is recommended. In my case I combined these antennas with my Ku Band satellite dishes using diplexers and multiplexers.

I love my directional and being able to see the waveform come in strong when I point the antenna toward low power radio stations! That play way better music than most big radio stations
