other than for showing the secret, he doesn't use a mat.. I think he's using a transparent tabletop and the projection is showing the cards outside the camera frame until you put the blank cards in it's way
Darkstar159 mmm I don't know. as someone who practices with cards daily and uses them on mats, I feel like the cards would've slid around a lot more on a table. Plus, the dropping action was very clean, whereas on a table it would've came back towards him a bit more. Also, Mr.Wiseman's carpets are pretty colourful, so I don't think it's see through. ilIt might not be a mat, But definitely not see through...probably
