I love my Raise 1, my wallet can't handle this right now.
Don't worry, I'm sure you'll have a Raise 2 for yourself in better times, or you can still enter our giveaway to win a free Dygma Raise 2!
Giveaway is my only hope lol. I think I was either "the" first comment on the YT video or close to it. I can't stress enough how much I love my Dygma 1.@@DygmaLab
Can't wait! I love my Raise 1, and a backup will be fab. Signed up already.
Easiest pre-order I have ever done.
Woohooo 🎉
Couldn’t wait and went for the Defy. May e I’ll get the Raise 2 for my brother 🤔
Good brother! :)
Raise 1 owner, love the product. However hope somethings can be improved:
(some context to my usage: always split, careful user and 3 years plus ownership)
1. I've never screwed/unscrewed my device, but some of the screws are loose on my device. The thread of the acrylic casing is loose and the screws can't be screwed back.
2. Using a standard office desk and never ever move or shuffle my keyboard, but overtime the rubber feet came off the device.
3. For some reasons the metal tube that is connects the keyboard is bending, especially the metal tube that connects the G and the H key. This is weird considering I've never connected the keyboard together, nor have I ever dropped or damaged it.
4. Some of the keycaps are surprisingly brittle. both of my spacebar keycaps have cracked from the stem. Resulting in me sacrificing my switches by super-glueing them to the keycap.
Questions about the Raise 2:
1. Hope there can be some battery mechanism that prevents over-charging. Or else those who use wire mode for the wireless device will have a battery issue long-term.
2. What is the battery capacity?
Hi! Thanks for sharing with us your experience! We take note of all your suggestions, and about your questions of the Raise 2: we still don't know the exact capacity of the batteries, but it will be similar to the Defy ones, which has 2370mAh each side; and we do have a battery mechanism that stops charging once the keyboard is charged
the ONLY question is what do I do with my Raise 1 after I get Raise 2 - do I keep it at work to move around with just laptop on my hands keeping Raise 2 at my home and for travel or should I get rid of Raise 1 in favour of Raise 2.. hmm....... I guess I'll decide this in October 2024 when Raise 2 will knock at my door. Can't wait!
while I like my raise 1 (and currently typing this using it) and already pre-reserved it, I'm confused about the pricing model for the raise2 : most people will want underglow and/or wireless. I would have been fine paying a little more for a base model that has underglow and wireless, then paying a bit more for really niche specs (tilt + negative tilt ?)
I'm probably going to get a full spec raise 2 anyway but I think making underglow and wireless optional then asking 80usd for a tilting kit is hard to justify. If it was just me I would raise (!) the base price and bundle it with lighting and wireless then lower the tilt addon (I obviously have no clue about the economics behind the current pricing model though)
The options shown in this video are what we'll offer for sure. But, we are open to doing more options, such as underflow and/or wireless. However, based on our sales with the Defy, we found that most people (90%) go for the full-spec anyway or the tenting and wireless. But we are definitely open to other options.
Does the VIP expire after launch? What if I buy the VIP but can't afford the Raise 2 this year?
Yeah the VIP offer lasts until launch, on March 26 :)
You can cancel your VIP pre-reserve and we'll refund you the $5, but you need to do that before the launch starts.
Will it be possible to use my Raise 1 tenting kit (that I paid a kidney for lol) in the Raise 2?
No, sorry, the base of the Raise 2 has screws in different positions, and that's how the tenting kit is attached to the Raise 1
Question, what profile of keycaps with the dygma raise 2 come with? Will it be only dashes or will it have characters and numbers?
We are still deciding, but what would you like? 🤔
Since the raise 2 follows a traditional board style, I think it makes sense for them to have traditional markings. It’s easier to find caps with dashes. Also the keycaps should use OEM profiles versus the more unique ones (again for easier replacement)
@@DygmaLab Chars and numbers and special symbols. I'm paying for 100% square space of each keycap, I want 100% of each square space used! 😂
I forgot. Do tenting and non-tenting variants have the same height?
Same height for the Defy. I‘m sure the Raise 2 will be the same.
Yes they do. The tenting kit and reverse tilting is integrated so it fits inside the base of the keyboard :)
I was so confused about the Philippine peso lmao
Haha it was a last-minute addition since I had it in my wallet 🇵🇭
The ergo market is for enthusiasts mainly, with the prices. The open source ones aren't very great with their build quality, like corne and lily.
Please do keep your budget customers in your mind too.
They plan on having downsized versions some day so :/ idk
We did our best to keep the prices low, but we understand that you may not agree with them. There are several reasons for the increased price, such as improvements made to the PCBs and key scanning, new keyboard mounts, additional electronic components for expansion modules, and a fourth channel for white LEDs. Furthermore, the prices of these components have significantly increased over the past two years. Additionally, manufacturing and transportation costs have also gone up. However, we promise to look into making a more affordable keyboard in the future 😊
They're a small company. They're not Samsung. They can't make it cheaper and still pay their employees. If you don't believe me try to cost out the components yourself.
Hey, Dygma, does Raise's software (Bazecore?) needs access to the internet ever? (besides downloading the program). Without internet, is there any feature that is not available? Also, how do updates to Bazecore works? Just download a new version or the software updates itself? I'm on a Linux machine, if it makes any difference. Lastly, when is the last day to sign to the VIP to get a the discounted price? Thank you!
Hi! Bazecor only needs access to the internet when updating/reflashing the firmware, to update it you need to download the new version, and the last day for the VIP program is the 26th March 😊
@@DygmaLab Thank you! Also, does Bazecor has telemetry in it?
It does not have telemetry at the moment, we were planning to use Sentry but it is not active yet, in case of using it, it will be against private servers hosted by us so that the information does not reach third parties 😊
@@DygmaLab I was excited and looking forward to buying the Raise 2, but telemetry is a deal breaker for me, especially on the keyboard which can easily become a keylogger and it's a device that carries a ton of sensitive information. Even if it would be opt-in when Dygma implements it (companies hardly ever do opt-in, they always choose for opt-out), it means there will be a frequent connection and data sent somewhere, who knows where, that can be hacked no matter "how secure" it is. Unfortunately, if Dygma does not value my privacy, I can't become your client. To be clear, any sort of telemetry, data-mining, or even any sort of internet connection requirement means a lack of privacy, especially for a keyboard.
It was a fun run, I enjoyed the ride so far. Thank you, Dygma.
It would be so weird to win the giveaway an sign for VIP lol
Weird or just extremely lucky!
Aw man I have to get the tenting to get the other two options :/ 3:17
Those are sample prices. They haven‘t decided the combinations yet.
Those are the options but we might add some more combinations - depending on the demand ;)
Yes the combinations should be more granular. It would be nice to get wireless and underglow without the tenting kit.
OMG "Free shippin mudh** fu***". lol you guys are hilarious! lol
😂
Have raise 1.. just signed for vip ;)
Why not!
Where do I save 200$? Its max 180$😂
Don't forget the free shipping 😊 180 + free shipping = over 200
200$ discount for the Raise 2 ? Ok, I'ill wait for the 200$ discount for the Defy 2 then.
I don't think I can go back to those few thumb keys. 😊
Why have 8 when you can have 16! 😂
@@DygmaLab Hoping for 32 keys thumb cluster coming with Defy 2
Perhaps a feet extension. 😁
