    one of the best ways I found to learn about interlocking forms and shapes is to look at celtic art , they are masters of the interlocking lines and can really help you understand knotting links and shapes

    I kinda liked the ghosting effect from gassing out tho. Maybe you could purposely ghost around where your shine is going to be, I imagine it would give your letters a more matte feel to it. Imagine the possibilities!

    Im beginning and learning to spray paint what brand paint should I get, and im also on a budget, I’m leaning more towards ironlak or Montana black, thoughts 💭 from anyone?

    • @orionfree5609
      @orionfree5609 5 років тому

      Bryce K no don’t waste your money or your parents money on those cans!! It is such a waste of money and not worth it for a beginner! Please trust me. Honestly you would get way more experience and learn so much more spending the same amount of money you would on Montana and premium cans, of you just bought the cheaper cans from your local hardware store, dollar cans even!
      Krylon and rustoleum should be looked at like your premium cans. Forget about Montana and molotow ironlak etc.. until you have much much much more experience.
      When it comes down to it, if you develop your skills and learn the basics starting with the basic tools. Then you will be able to creat a fairly good piece with even the cheapest cans of paint.
      I promise you, it will only hinder your progress if you depend on premium cans to develop as a artist, despite what you may think. Yes they help in areas of detail etc but like I said the basics are the basics and skill is skill premium cans will only make it a bit easier with what you already know.
      Not easier to learn, so don’t get me wrong In fact I think it is opposite and will hinder your progression as a very beginner.
      Your going to go through hundreds of cans before you really start developing some good can control and style etc.. do the math 100 cans of a premium can be a hundred $ of a cheap can...
      Also with the cheaper cans of you can learn to overcome their downfalls then it will translate that much more when you do graduate to the cans in the bracket next up on your progression. And then things will be much easier because you’ve learned with tools that aren’t catered to artists every need.

    I miss those color place silvers. They were like mirror chrome and for a dollar. I found something very similar tho. Its called "touch n tone". The silver is the same exact thing as Wal-Mart silver. Even smells the same and its slightly more $, like 1.20. Health wise probably not good, wlamart discontinued it for a reason.

    • @orionfree5609
      @orionfree5609 5 років тому

      lawlessarts they are dumb as hell for discontinuing their silver can... it had to be one of there best sellers if not the best seller. Shit I remember at times when i had to let the stores cool off from so much racking and I had to buy paint back in the day..
      The go to was always silver, black and white. 3 $ for a few throw ups. But that silver shit buy 10$ in silver and a can in black and you can get up pretty fat... ya ya shit quality but better then it is nowadays and you can’t really go wrong with throwies..
      I was wondering why I didn’t see in silver he last few times I was there.. didn’t realize they stopped. It has to be because of graffiti I would assume. Most likely not because of the nasty ingredients you heard GR, Walmart was begging they guy to add more solvents in his cans to profit more lol...

    @serolattm 6 років тому +1

    how many cans for fill in do you guys usually carry ?

    • @orionfree5609
      @orionfree5609 5 років тому

      aaa bbb as many as possible while still being under the radar and nice and maneuverable...

    • @orionfree5609
      @orionfree5609 5 років тому

      aaa bbb what you can do though if you are unsure of how much you can fill with what you have would be to A. Either Do a light pass over the piece so that it’s consistently filled with color. It might be dusty but then at least it’s one color and not totally unfinished looking, or...
      B. Fill in the top or bottom half of the piece, and if it looks like you won’t have enough to fill it, then use a second color to fill the bottom part of the piece and just make it a nice 2 color fill, you can fade them together or whatever.
      Lastly you can do both of the above if you are truly limited haha but honestly the amount of fill cans you bring with you is hugely based off of the brand and type of paint you have. Like a Walmart dollar can won’t be able to go anywhere close to a Molotow can.. also depends on how well you utilize paint, or how big the piece is etc... 2 cans of molotow will do what 3-4 cans of rustoleum will do. And probably what 8 cans of Walmart paint would do lol
      So the best advice I can give you or the best answer to your question would be to just get out there and experiment and build up your own experience with different cans, then you will have a much better idea of what supplies you can hall.
      ( if you just want a blanket statement answer bring 2-3 fill cans and you should for sure be alright for a average size piece...)
