Dungeons & Dragons Lore: What are Brass Dragons?

- A lot of dragons like talking but some cant seem to stop. Would you wish to hear of these dragons? The most Gregarious of dragon kind? Some of the weakest but kind-hearted dragons? Come and sit by me a moment as I tell you the tale of these dragons.

I’m going to put a young brass dragon in my adventure, who constantly (every week) sends letters to the heroes’ headquarters when they’re gone. On rare occasions, they provide useful insights, but they are usually nonsense or riddles. If he doesn’t get a reply in two days (which is common since the heroes loathe him), he sends them:
“Dear best friends, I’m worried that you haven’t responded because you’ve been captured. If you are alright, please write back soon.
Your beloved neighbor, Gazithaumirisk”
That last bit of the letter refers to what is not even the town’s opinion of him anymore, since he isn’t adorable or brave.
I've been playing a brass dragon disciple kobold in an RP server for a good while now.
Complicated character, angsty warrior that wanted to be a red, turned brass instead. Currently she struggles a lot trying to find herself between trying to be a villain and simultaneously be plagued by the urges of brass. I had to mutate the 'talk endlessly' trait for 'love conversations' because honestly it doesn't work in RP to just overwhelm people with dialogue, and gave her a burning and intense curiosity for anything and everything. She is a barely functional emotional mess and I love her.

I just realized if there is brass and bronze dragons then there's copper dragons are there tin dragons? The names would seem to suggest the existence of such. Also Deserts are the PERFECT place to preserve things just look at the US Military's boneyard or the countless perfectly preserved artifacts or even fossils. Thousands of year old pieces of parchment paper or dinosaur bones found in deserts. So Brass dragons keeping artwork in the desert works out perfectly.
Copper dragons yes, not sure about tin dragons

This dragon is Brass because it was around during the brass age and just covered itself in the metal
So they're basically like Donkey from Shrek.
I wonder if the dragonborns that come from this ancestry of dragons and look do they have the same suffering problem of being long winded talkers as well?

So, the librarian of the library of Alexandria was a brass? It fits...desert, books, art, people to talk too, not fighters...since they fled when the library was burned.

I've really enjoyed this dragon lore series! Do you have any plans for a future series?
well for this series I plan to do the gemstone dragons and then 5 more sub races of dragon. Then after that I might do a series on demons or perhaps undead. I've haven't decided yet.
And I will return to dragons at some point of course.

@@theashspawn I don't know how you feel about forgotten realms but a video/videos about the different human ethnicities, their regions and pronunciations.
I think it is a bit of lore largely touched on youtube.
@@bluebird3281 that is a good idea to talk about. It would be much further down the line as I want to do things that would still be useful for someone making their own world first but I will add that to my ever growing list. Thank you for the idea
