- A sermon delivered by C.H. Spurgeon, Sunday September 6th 1885.
This sermon was the very first I recorded back in 1985, when it was 100 years old. I was so comforted and helped by Spurgeon's message that I wanted to pass it onto you as best I could. The recording in 1985 I could not find. The one I did a few years ago sounded a little too swift and breathless to me. This one I hope will be a help to many, as I consider it one of Spurgeon's best. It is a helpful exercise to look at the text, and write a few notes about what you would have drawn from it yourself; then to listen to Spurgeon. To me, this message is a shining example of the sheer depth and quality of the great gifts which our loving Lord had bestowed upon this man from Essex.

Actually I realised in listening this was one I’d listened to before of yours last year I think several times, perhaps your breathless 😊 version… it’s been shared four or five times over already including to missionaries in Zambia! That’s the blessing if the world we now live in.
