Can I just suggest to at least read the journal? It tells you about cursed objects like the mirror and it tells you how to recognise ghost behaviours and how to use the tools. Also, play with Impulse to learn more. He's still a bit of a noob too, but he could teach you some things at least lol

I was hoping grian would accidentally pick asylum, also you missed the haunted mirror at the entrance, it drains your sanity when you use it, but right clicking when holding it let's you see the ghost room
