I would like to DIY my granolithic floor. It is 45 years old and yellow but still smooth. Do I have to sand it first before applying the primer? I would like to DIY my granolithic floor. It is 45 years old and yellow but still smooth. Do I have to sand it first before applying the primer? I saw your video but can you list down the proper steps? What chemicals do I need to achieve a smooth finish? Finally, if I do not want a smooth finish, can I apply flakes to achieve a a false granolithic finish?
Before you apply epoxy floor paint better to sand it to remove previous sealer for possible chemical reaction and for better adhesion. You can use Epocoat MB for moisture barrier primer and Epocoat FCH with your desired color then topcoat with Epocoat FCH Clear added with flakes to achieve a false granolithic floor.

Yes but it will consume more material than smooth and leveled surface. You can use Level Up self levelling mortar to correct your floor before you apply your floor paint.

Remove first the white cement on your floor before you apply any floor coating to ensure it will adhere well on your concrete.
