@@SouthernRebels94 Slavery wasn't dying under the Confederacy at all. It was at its peak in 1860 when they seceded; the number of slaves increased by about 25% from 1850 to 1860 (per federal US census data). When they seceded, they stated slavery was the primary reason why. Their constitution had specific articles protecting slavery at the federal level. In your own words, Davis held the economy over the lives of millions of slaves, which is reprehensible. You're right that the Union was also racist during this time, but that proves two main points: that the US was historically racist, and that the Confederacy still didn't think the US was racist enough.

The Confederate Flag is not about Heritage, here are my reasons why. 1). If you want to bring Heritage into the matter just fly a American flag because THAT IS YOUR HERITAGE. not the CONFEDERATE FLAG. The C.S.A. (Confederate States of America) was brief republic that didn't even stand independent for 5 years. 2). The Confederate Flag represents rebels against the United States the Confederate Flag was flying when rebels where battling against the American Army in the Civil War so basically those people are rebels.
America has many flags not just the US flag. From historical to current, Canada to Argentina. The Confederate flag an American flag 1. It’s part of North America and 2. It has the name confederate state of America. 3. You have no right to tell other people what their heritage is or which symbols they can choose to represent their heritage. 4. This government was founded by rebels and traitors. Even to this day we fight and rebel against the government. If we believed to something that is unconstitutional then we fight the government in court to make them change it.
You’ve gotta take into consideration the north was taxing the south unfairly and only the richer upper class fought for slaves, the poorer class of people fought for states rights to secede from the union and form their own government so they would stop getting taxed more heavily than the north, cause at the time the majority of the lower classes didn’t own slaves and were dirt poor farmers, that’s heritage.
Many Georgians at the time don’t realize that the guy who appeared on the 1:27 time frame in this video would end up becoming one of their BS Senators. Wow.
I am not offended by confederate flags, statues, monuments, or anything from our past United States history. This includes Native American statues and artifacts from this or any part of our history on this soil. I dislike their removal. I am also not a fan of changing sport team’s names because some people find them offensive. American history is reflective of our human nature, we are not perfect and sin has existed from the beginning of our existence. How we treat each other today and our behavior is important. Remember God was aware of our sinful nature, therefore he sent his son Jesus Christ to live in the flesh and to die on the cross for our sins. Our salvation and not the removal of a Robert Edward Lee monument (object) is more precious and valuable to our God. This is what he cares about because from the beginning of our time our nation and this earth (national and international) were never exempt from evil, destruction, and suffering if we consider global politics (U.S. | Foreign Policy, U.S. | International Relations), and world history we might have a perspective that sees past a flag. Countries, states, nations, cities, tribes, factions, etc., all have flags. What is gained or accomplished today besides money being printed, spent, and inflation on a rise in this country and to now pay for these expenses. The life, death, and resurrection of Jesus Christ was required to give us a chance to reach God and heaven. We as humans are incapable of salvation, otherwise. We should try to focus on serving God, others, and being more Christ like. I question what kind of message this sends to our citizens as our culture changes and evolves. Do we start to change and remove any building, bridge, statue, flag, street, park, etc., going forward if deemed offensive? Who decides? We are a large nation, very populated, and to do so will be expensive. Is it worth it, spending U.S. dollars to remove statues and monuments when there’s war and conflict in other countries and where the standard of living is developing, third world and impoverished? Lastly, we have our own poverty issue in this country. We should spend money on improving and addressing those concerns.

The confederate flags shouldn’t be banned but the statues should be taken down and put in a museum. They were erected by the daughters of the confederacy to push the lost cause myth so why should they remain. No one’s learning history from a 30ft tall statue of lee
If any flags are treasonous then it would be that of BLM banners and flags.
@@jjs777fzr I don't remember BLM and gay flags leaving the Union for trying to own slaves. The confederate flag is treason

Simple as that
You’ve gotta take into consideration the north was taxing the south unfairly and only the richer upper class fought for slaves, the poorer class of people fought for states rights to secede from the union and form their own government so they would stop getting taxed more heavily than the north, cause at the time the majority of the lower classes didn’t own slaves and were dirt poor farmers, that’s heritage.

Why should we keep statues of people who fought to keep slaves? Is that what we want to honor as a country?
@@austin7489 no body fought and died to keep slaves damn people are so ignorant and stupid these days the civil war was about the north abusing their power and taking advantage of the southern folks over charging us with taxes and such the southern folks wanted to be left alone and Lincoln wasn't gonna allow it and forced us into war.
