Thanks for showing us these stretches! I didn't know it was possible for any horse to bend that far, and in some leg stretches, I thought their backs were more flexible. It makes sense, being a grazing animal, for the spine to be sturdy like that.

When you watch a horse in the pasture being silly you will see just how flexible he is! 😂 But some horses are certainly less flexible than others. When stretching your horse, it’s best not to try to force anything and to make sure they have worked a bit beforehand

@@DeannaThompsonCorby D'aww! That sounds adorable and yet, I never thought of looking that up, so thanks! ^^ I can only dream of having a real horse to interact with, but at least I can enjoy drawing/animating them.

Stretching for any animal before working lowers the risk of pulling a muscle or ripping tendons, as well as other similar injuries, so it is beneficial to stretch out your horse before physical activity. Stretching after working helps alleviate most soreness or muscle pain, and can improve performance after high intensity activities, so I like to have a stretch schedule for before and after riding.

    Hello!
Thank You for a nice video. I have a few questions:
    1. Do You do the stretches after every workout?
    2. For how long should the horse hold the position? Is it only one rep for each exercise or more?

Our chiropractor suggests that when doing the carrot stretches, we should keep the carrot fairly high when bringing his head around. Also, his poll/ears should be as flat and level with the ground as possible -this provides a better stretch for the neck, shoulders, ribs, etc.....

It would have been nice to know the horse's name

😂 that’s one of my personal horses that I use in almost all my videos. His name is Roman and he is a 2010 Hanoverian gelding. I’ve owned him since he was 9 months old. 💜
