  • During our Weave & Stitch Along I've heard many times "I wish you would teach how to weave on the Zoom loom!" Well, there are already a gazillion and one other videos for that available, but eventually I gave in ... why not add one more and make it a gazillion and two.
    So, here you have it, another hour of TexasGabi-talk, showing step-by-step how to weave on the Schacht Zoom loom ... or on any other 3-pin-groups little loom.
    Enjoy!

    Thank you. I got a weave it loom wooden with the 3 pins. At a yard sale many years ago. It’s from the 1930’s. Your video will help me figure it out. Dankeschön!

    Thank you! I have a lovely 4 inch Hazel Rose loom I bought a few years ago somewhere but, unfortunately, I think it may have got lost in my house move. I have ordered a set of 3 looms in different sizes and needed a refresher as to how to weave on them! You have made such an excellent explanation of all the steps and I eagerly await my looms! I do remember, as a beginner, the last weaving row being a so and so if I had laid the yarn in too tightly. It is all coming back to me now. Thanks again 😀

I followed your tutorial step by step this evening, and I finally wove a perfect square! Thank you so much. Thank you for your kind comment! It looks like you're on your way ... winding too tight is a very common problem in the beginning, and sometimes it's also the yarn. A few more weavies, more loosely, and you'll be a pro! Happy weaving.

    Such fine detailed explanation. Just what I was looking for. Thank you so much 😊 . I cannot crochet at the moment ( fractured my hand) so thought that the zoom loom I’ve had sitting for a year, would be a good substitute. Got through the first 3 steps alright, but the weaving will be difficult with only one hand...hmm...will have to think how I can do it now. But I love 💗 the tutorial

    • @BluebonnetCraftersLLC
      @BluebonnetCraftersLLC  4 роки тому +1

      Thank you for your kind comment, and ... get well soon!
      In the meantime, a temporary solution in support of weaving with just one hand, take a flat plate or the back of that plate, or a book, put the Zoom loom on top of it, and hold it down with one or two rubber bands. That will give everything enough weight to stay in place, and you can easily turn the "loom holder" when you do the weaving. Unfortunately I can't add a photo to this comment, but feel free to contact me if you need more help.
      Best wishes for a quick recovery, and happy weaving!

    • @BluebonnetCraftersLLC
      @BluebonnetCraftersLLC  3 роки тому +1

      There are multiple things you can do: My favorite and long lasting solution is to use one of those small round velcro dots and mount that to a side or under the loom (works on other looms, too). If you don't have one of those handy, make a slip knot, or use a small piece of tape to tape the tail to the side or bottom of the loom.

    My needle is only 4 inches . I noticed your needle is a lot longer. It is difficult for me to weave.where can I purchase a longer needle . How long is your needle?

    • @BluebonnetCraftersLLC
      @BluebonnetCraftersLLC  4 роки тому

      Oh, yes, 4" is short. I used a longer needle from my needle stash, and in general I recommend "loom width + 2 inches". I don't think I can post links here, but many people use a "Susan Bates 5 inch weaving needle" for their Zoom looms. You can find good needles, 5" or longer, on Amazon or Etsy. You can also use a book binder needle and dull the sharp tip. Before you buy, check that they are not too thick! Some cheap needle sets include needles that are too thick to go between the pins.

    • @BluebonnetCraftersLLC

      Tracy, I'm using the number of wraps that are recommended for the Schacht Zoom loom, which are 5 wraps. There is a stamp on the back of your loom to remind you of that. I talk about it in the video starting at 25:21
