That’s so beautiful but it is vlogs like this that always make me realize how unnatural most of this is. Like you literally had to set your camera before you picked your child up for the day. And then you had to walk down the hallway multiple times, just to get camera angles. Its so crazy. I wonder how this will affect everyone’s kids one day.
@@Sammiejammie521 Thanks for your comment. That portion was actually filmed mid day. She only naps in her crib occasionally as every night she sleeps in our bedroom in another crib because I want my kids to be as close as possible to me their first year. The very first thing we do every morning (including this one) when she wakes up is play together on the floor. If you notice any scenes where she is not on my hip, it’s because she’s either napping or being played with or held by another member of our family. I’ve always documented my family life as a photographer, and I think my kids will be grateful to have the memories captured. I have been a stay at home mom for over 16 years because I wanted to be the one there for my kiddos. I also have a child who is almost never seen. That is because he asks to not be shown and if he is, it is because he lets me know he’s okay with it. I appreciate your concern for them, but as their mother, I would never do anything to harm them. I want to say this as well, and I do apologize for the lengthy reply, but going back to me staying at home for 16 years…the only job I have had since my kids were born was our family’s wedding business where I worked only nights and weekends because I wanted my kids to be cared for by their dad and not have the care outsourced. I realize this is not a luxury for everyone so I am very grateful I was/am able to choose. I started this channel one year ago as a creative outlet for myself. Since the age of 21, when my husband and I had our first child), I chose to put aside any pursuits and all endeavors while raising my kids because I want to commit to them fully. Last year I came to a point where I felt it was time I could step out and do something for myself while I could be there for my kids at the same time. When you see multiple angles of me walking, they were of me doing different tasks and were actually filmed minutes apart (things like grabbing laundry, putting it away etc, but I will say she was on my hip the entire time if you look so even if I did walk multiple times specifically for different angles, she would have still been on my hip (no different than doing any other task.) Anyway, apologies if I seem defensive. Being the best mother possible is, always has been, and will continue to be my number one priority. :)
@ you don’t seem defensive, I don’t understand the need for some of it in there.. but I never doubted you being a good mother or thought they weren’t your priority. My comment was more directed to the fact of how odd vlogging truly is. Especially when there is multiple angles of someone doing a task, it’s almost like reality TV with someone following you around. Honestly this was my first time seeing your page and my opening statement of it being beautiful was not sarcasm. It was genuinely me thinking how perfect and beautiful everything you do and everything you have is, and then having a moment of “how does she film this, does she have multiple cameras, is someone filming her”. And then I thought about other family channels that have their children do funny skits with them, and it’s funny/cute. But I genuinely am curious how that will affect them later on in life, because they’re basically little actors.. but they’re acting out their own life kinda. Even just watching your own parent taping themselves doing laundry and moving the camera all around the house..and then people watch them 😂 I mean your child’s sacred space is on the internet for everyone to look at, that has to be wild for them. But I guess these days it will just be normal? Not sure that makes any sense? So my statement was not to say you’re doing something wrong, just more of a realization that social media is cool, but also very odd in its ways. I typically watched women who would talk to the camera and go through their day, cooking or working out, so I’m getting used to the more “planned” and calculated videos.. just observing!
Totally get your comment and your observation about the nature of vlogging. It can and usually is highly edited. media literacy is so important when it comes to consuming anything on the internet. I love this channel because of the aesthetic. how picture perfect everything this. There is literally a shot of a frame being moved slightly so it's more centered? From the wrapping paper, to how the gifts are arranged to the lighting, to her hair in bedtime clothes. Everything is meant to be this way. It's like flipping through architectural digest. This channel is amazing for decor inspiration and a wish list of vintage finds. I am manifesting those wicker bells. ❤
I love the fact that your channel IS different from other channels! You don’t feel the need to talk about everything you are doing, you just bring us along with you. It feels very natural to me. Just a thought... ignore the negative sounding criticisms in the comments and pin the positive ones. It’s your channel and you have developed a following. Keep up the great content.
Hi Jessie 🎄. Wonderful haul and what you do with all things is just so creative in that beautiful home of yours.Love there is no clutter. So Enjoy your video’s 🌲
Hi Jesse! I may not always leave a comment, but I always give you a thumbs up, sweety! Love how your home is being decorated for Christmas. Simply fabulous 👌 😊🎉❤
Thank you for posting twice a week during such a busy, joyful time. Two Jessie vlogs is so much fun! You're spoiling us though. It'll be hard to go back to one vlog a week. ❤
I love your channel, your beautiful home, beautiful family and your uncluttered style. Watching your daughter helping in the kitchen is such a reminder of the days I would spend in the kitchen with my mom as a young girl. I will never forget those special times, all the learning and recipes, but most of all, the special time spent with my mom.
Yes, I think it is a mangle board. I think you used to beat on the laundry with that. If you love Astrid Lindgren and her books/movies, then there is a particular scene in one of the Emil films, where Alma does the laundry at the creek and she lays the linnen on a rock and beats on it with such a paddle. 🙂 Scandinavien indeed.
I loved the shop too and want to go! These were often engagement presents from the groom and could be very fancy. It looks like this was personalized and also used!
@@christinaheesakacowden-wut3809 Thanks! I didn't see any Emil movies available to me. I read Pippi Longstocking when I was a little girl. Love those stories. That reminds me to share those stories with my four year old granddaughter.
@@snowcm135 Yes, what a wonderful idea. Your granddaughter will love those stories. I grew up with them as well. Emil is the original name of the little boy. We in Germany gave him the name Michel. Michel aus Lönneberga. I had to get used to Emil when I read about it at first, lol. Astrid Lindgren had so many wondersful stories. I particularly loved The Bullerbie children and also the stories about the children of Saltkrokan. In those you will encounter many old customs. So loving and adorable and in itself a witness of history. Love from the Schurwald Forest, Germany. And Merry Christmas to you 💖
