Very satisfying how despite leaps and bounds in technology, the oldest coaster in Canada easily remains the best in the country.
Very true!
True But I Wouldn't Say "Easily"
fact
Easily? I think many wouldn’t agree
@@talkingweevil3172 Granted, this comment was left before seatbelts were added to Coaster, and I haven’t ridden it since it was modified. But back when it was giving rides with absurd standing ejector airtime, I would confidently call it the very best in Canada.
As a canadian, this video means a lot.
I was waiting for this. Yay!
Hope you enjoyed it!
@Peyton Gustavo bruh
same
Love the list!! Grew up with Galaxyland & Playland as 2 of my home parks but now Wonderland is.
Mindbender is spectacular, and I love Goliath, Vampire, Leviathan, and Behemoth. But Yukon takes the cake for me in Canada, and Coaster at Playland is closer to the bottom unfortunately 😭
What didn't you like about Coaster?
great list. I definitely agree with all your picks, great job mixing it up a little bit.
Glad you enjoyed!
Fun fact, I think the lift hill on Monstre is steeper than the actual drop. Is this true?
It's possible!
Yeah I believe it says that in the station or something, but from off ride u can clearly see it too
thanks Canobie! wonderland is my favorite park and I hope we get reviews of more Canadian parks in future (maybe one on Clifton Hill!)
I hope to get back to La Ronde this year if the borders reopen for leisure.
@@CanobieCoaster we la rond not wonderland
I'm glad to see so many coasters from Canada's Wonderland on your list. My home park. I live in Toronto. I'm dying to ride Leviathan, Behemoth and of course the Yukon Striker.
They have a great top 3.
That’s my top three two
Coaster at Playland is my number 1 I’ve ridden at the moment. Absolutely crazy ride. I hope to get out to Galaxyland and Calaway Park this year so I’ll see how Coaster holds up. I could possibly see Mindbender beating it. I’m very glad to have Coaster at my home park.
If you like positive Gs, you'll love Mindbender.
I love Tim Horton’s. Also great list! My number one is Leviathan but I haven’t been to Playland.
Nice!
Ya leviathan for sure
Fun fact: Wonder Mountain’s Guardian is the only ART Engineering Dark Ride Coaster in the world right now but I feel like Primordial at Lagoon might be the second
Quite possible!
Anyone know what is going on with Primordial??
thank you for this video
You're welcome!
@@CanobieCoaster also did you know that backlot is the only launched coaster in canada
9:18 makes the 306 foot drop look like nothing 😂
It's all about the angles.
I feel like canobie is putting more comedy in his videos, I love it
I sprinkle it in when appropriate.
Canada: The only country where a small, 60 year old woodie can beat out a freaking B&M giga for best coaster in the country lol.
I take Coaster over Fury 325 as well.
@@CanobieCoaster Wow Leviathan seems to be the majority opinion but Fury? That's actually pretty bold. I can respect that though; everyone has their own opinion.
If you take that over fury I know that you playing games now
I’ve been on all of these except the ones at the Edmonton mall. Leviathan is my #1. I do expect Mindbender could rival it for me one day when I finally get there. I’ve been on Le Monster a crazy amount of times throughout my life and the night rides after a long hot day are pretty awesome. This thing seems to run different every summer, it’s so weird. Also what’s up with Time Warp making this list??? Did wonderland pay you or something? Just kidding lol. Thanks for the cool video!
I like all volares. I'll have to try Monstre again at night.
Unfortu ately you wont get the chance to ride it now as it is closed permanently
It’s peanut butter jelly time!...while I watch this video 😂
Lol
Minebuster rode good for me, always riding in the middle row of a 3-row car. Even the helix finale was fine. But there was no salvation for Wilde Beast. That thing jackhammered worse than any other wood coaster I've ridden. But I am totally with you on Time Warp. I rode it all 3 of my days there, and I enjoyed it. I couldn't figure out what was so bad about it. I never came close to anything painful. That's the only park I've been to in Canada, but I'm sure that Coaster will top my list once I get on it.
7. Time Warp
6. Backlot
5. Minebuster
4. Vortex
3. Behemoth
2. Leviathan
1. Yukon Striker.
On some days, I feel that Leviathan is my favorite. They are very close.
I definitely prefer Leviathan and Behemoth to Yukon Striker, but Yukon Striker is a great dive machine.
I went on the vortex with my brother, mom and dad. My dad on the drop kept saying “WHY DID I GET ON THIS WHY DID I GET ON THIS” over and over
Oh my!
In this video, there were no Flight Deck at Canada's Wonderland and Ednör - L'Attaque at La Ronde. I like those Vekoma suspended looping coasters. They are thrilling and have five inversions.
Those 2 are rough and painful.
Now that I've seen this again and been to Canada Wonderland I haven't changed my mind, but now my #1 bucket list Canadian coaster is Mindbender which has been SPNO since last year.
I hope it reopens soon!
I'm going to wonderland in a couple weeks and my top 3 are the Behemoth, Leviathon, Yukon Striker. Next year I'm planning on going back to Darien lake as well which is my favorite park in the states.
Nice!
Mindbender has always been on my bucket list of coasters to ride
It's fantastic.
Love the review. I would have ranked Le Monstre higher. It ran a lot better when it was first opened. I think the maintenance at the whole park has been sub-par for years.
I only rode it in 2016.
I was surprised it got on the list at all its crap
Levi will always be my #1. But I respect your list. Can't wait until I can finally get to the US and go to all their parks. I'm dying to get on Fury 325 and Steel Vengeance
Those two are awesome.
I’ve only been to Wonderland but I think your list sounds about right! I like Leviathan, Behemoth, and Yukon Striker a lot! But Coaster seems like another monster.
It really is.
The only major coaster that you are missing in Canada is Vortex at Calaway Park. It is your standard Arrow Looper like Canobie Corkscrew.
I don't have plans to visit that park for that reason.
I don't have plans for that park either...
Its so weird how a 100 foot wooden coaster from the 1930s is better than a.300 foot coaster with over 4000 feet of track but that shows you the power of buzz bars
Buzz bars are godly.
Excellent 🍾🍾🍾🍾🍾🥂🥂🥂🥂🥂🍷🍷🍷🍷🍸🍸🍸🍸🍺🍺🍺🍻🍻🍻🍻🥃
Thanks!
Now I wanna go to Cananda.... thanks
You're welcome!
Top coasters for me (top to bottom, didn't ride much other than the best coasters at limited parks): Leviathan, Behemoth, Goliath, Yukon Striker, Wonder Mountain's Guardian, Thunder Run, Wilde Beast, Great Canadian Minebuster, and Time Warp.
I recommend trying the west Canada coasters too.
I am seriously gonna miss Mindbender. Such a fun coaster!
It's still there.
@@CanobieCoaster Yes for now but unfortunately Galaxy Land just doesn't have the funding to keep it running. It's been closed for like 2 years now. Plus one of the staff even told me they might shut it down permanently.
You should go to Calaway park in Calgary alberta they have a standard arrow corkscrew but the first drop on it gives wild ejector airtime in the back. Also the operations can be quite slow since they run the ride twice.
I've ridden clones of that ride elsewhere.
Fun fact, big loop, a vekoma looping coaster at Heidi park, is a mirrored clone of dragon fyre
Oh cool!
Makes me cry about how they ruined the Great Canadian MineBuster. In it's original form it had the same sort of restrains (or lack their of) as the PNE Playland. Additionally, the bunnyhills for the first trip out were completely different in the 80s and 90s before they removed them to make for the waterpark passageways. There used to be three hills, and each one had crazy hangtime (again with very limited restraints).
I wish I could've ridden it like that.
The volares actually do look pretty fun, I just will have to see how rough they are for me
Most seem to dislike them.
I rode Time Warp and it was my second least favorite coaster of all time. Which is saying a lot, cause that and my number 1 least are the only 2 coasters I've ever strongly disliked
They’re awful lol
I wonder if people let their body go limp and let the coaster toss them around. This isn't the type of ride to do that with. Wedge yourself in tight and stay tight, and you won't get tossed around. It's not a world class ride, but they are pretty fun.
Goliath at La Ronde looks legitimately underrated
It's a floater airtime machine.
You have to go to La Ronde to ride it.
Man I have gone to almost every place and coaster on the list leviathan is my fav and so is Yukon striker and wonderland is my fav park…and I live in bc. From my experience I agree with the list
Edit: I forgot to mention I have been on EVERY coaster at wonderland and it is the best park in Canada for coasters and I love wonderland sooooooo much
Canada's Wonderland is definitely the country's coaster capital.
@@CanobieCoaster for sure and on Monday I’m riding “coaster” for the first time surprisingly
have you had the opportunity to ride "Adrenaline Peak" at Oaks Amusement Park? its a Gerstlauer Euro-Fighter. it looks pretty good but I have not ridden it yet
I've ridden it. It's a nice ride for that park.
Fairly Odd Coaster in Mall of America is rough as heck when you go through the helix’s.
I don't recall it being smooth the times I rode it in 2019 and 2020.
As a Canadian, I can proudly say that I've been on more coasters in the U.S. A. than Canada. Not only that: I've been to much more parks in U.S. A. than in Canada. Of the best coasters in Canada I've ridden, I've only ridden Coaster at Playland in Vancouver, so my guess is that if I had ridden every coaster in Canada, I'm guessing I'd rate them like this: (Trigger Warning): 1: Behemoth; 2: Coaster; 3: Leviathan; 4: Mindbender; 5: Goliath at La Ronde, 6: Yukon Striker; 7: Le Vampire; 8: Dragon Mountain; 9: Vortex.
I'll likely change my mind about some of these countdown placements once I experience different parks. Perhaps I'll eventually discover that 1: I like Mindbender better than Leviathan 2: perhaps I'll eventually discover that I like Goliath at La Ronde better than a: Mindbender; b: Leviathan; c: Coaster. I hope I will discover for myself from experience what my top 9 Canadian coasters would look like after I've had the experience to travel to other parks in Canada other than Playland.
Super Manage at La Ronde is exactly what Corkscrew at Playland was before it was sold: I believe it was a Vekoma with Arrow trains. There are 6 cars and the only two that are fun are cars 4 and 6. Thanks for this countdown: I've ridden Coaster hundreds and hundreds of times, (more than any other coaster I've ridden) with Millennium Force coming in 2nd at 37 times during the four days I was there in late May 2018.
For me, Coaster is a distant number 1 since it's so unique. Hopefully you can get on the others.
Which other parks in the us did you visit
Besides cedar point
@@deepakgrover8683 Blackpool Pleasure Beach, Alton Towers and Thorpe Park in 2019; Canada Wonderland in 2021; Nickelodeon Universe New Jersey, Six Flags Great Adventure, Luna Beach, Dino's Wonder Wheel, Six Flags Great America in 2022. I had 18 credits in May 2018 at the age of 48 and now I'm 52 and have 132 and am just getting started.
Just recently I visited la ronde and Canada’s wonderland personally I fell like le monster was good I hade a decent ride in the back but overall it wasn’t great however I fell like endor at la ronde should be on this list because that ride is intense every second you are in a inversion, and the boomerang at la ronde was rough however a great boomerang overall and nice colours so I would personally change some stuff for these two because they stood out for me great video tho.
I found Ednor rough when I rode it 5 years ago.
Ohh dang they must have made so changes because I was there last week and was at the back and found to to be rough at some parts however overall hade a great ride.
Minebuster in the 90s was amazing wish they would return it to its original state
Me too.
My top 5 are
5.thunder run
4.wilde beast
3.backlot stunt coaster
2.vortex
1.yukon striker
No Leviathan or Behemoth?
funnily enough mindbender and dragon mountain are my two favs in canada but i havent been to wonderland since i was like 8 and pne is on the bucket list
As it should.
@@CanobieCoaster ill def go to pne before wonderland again... nothing at CW even excites me one bit
Just a question where do you put your belongings on wonder mountains guardian
I have never had any bags with me, so I don't know the policies.
My Ranking:
1. Coaster, PNE Playland
2. Leviathan, Canada's Wonderland
3. Behemoth, Canada's Wonderland
4. Mindbender, Galaxyland
5. Yukon Striker, Canada's Wonderland
6. Goliath, La Ronde
7. Vortex, Canada's Wonderland
8. Vampire, La Ronde
9. Backlot Stunt Coaster, Canada's Wonderland
10. Wonder Mountain's Guardian, Canada's Wonderland
11. Galaxy Orbiter, Galaxyland

15. Ghoster Coaster, Canada's Wonderland
16. Time Warp, Canada's Wonderland
17. Monstre, La Ronde
18. Dragon, La Ronde
19. Fly, Canada's Wonderland
20. Vortex, Calaway Park
Haven't been to Marineland (nor do I plan to) but I imagine Dragon Mountain would fall somewhere in the middle of
the list.
Same number 1!
@@CanobieCoaster I think Coaster goes under-rated by the community because it doesn't have big stats or pull heavy G's, but it really is such a good, well-rounded ride.
Canada is the only country I plan to visit for thrills and the parks I want to visit are Galaxyland (and World Waterpark of course), Canada's Wonderland (obviously) and La Ronde (surprisingly). I can't decide if Marineland is worth visiting though.
Marineland is one of a kind, but expensive.
@@CanobieCoaster Even more expensive than the other parks I mentioned?
World Waterpark is severely under-rated. Easily one of the top 5 water parks in North America.
I feel kinda bad! I just turned 12 and last Saturday, we went to Galaxy land. We being me, my brother, and my 10 year old buddy. My buddy had never been on any rides before and for one of his first roller coasters ever (first was the red train at galaxyland) I brought him on the 12th craziest one in Canada!!!
Hope you had a good time!
ive ridden like 2 rollercoasters ever both of which at canadas wonderland
thunder run and backlot stunt coaster
im new to coasters so that was scary for me
Those are good starter coasters.
Is leviathan the 2nd coaster?
At canada’s wonderland,It is the 1st ride
Yes it is the best at Canada's Wonderland.
My prediciton
1. Leviathan
2. Mindbender
3. Coaster
4. Behemoth
5. Yukon Striker
6. Vampire
7. Mighty Canadian Minebuster
8. Vortex
9. Goliath
10. Dragon Mountain
PS I’ve only ridden 6 of these
Which ones haven't you been on?
Vampire, Goliath, Mindbender, and Coaster
What is it with Batman The Ride clones in other countries having pink with the yellow and black
I don't mind.
@@CanobieCoaster it’s odd though
I've went on yukon and goliath, and goliath is quite rough in my experiences while yukon is very smooth. Plus, goliath just doesn't have that much speed compared to other rides.
I don't recall Goliath being rough in 2016.
@@CanobieCoaster i went to canadas wonderland and laronde this summer, yukon striker was absaloutly the smoothest, way more so then goliath or even leviathan
I really liked the background music, do you know what it's called?
It's in the description.
@@CanobieCoaster Thanks, I'm an idiot for not noticing that
Did you do Electro or Capital Express at Quebec's Mega Parc? If so, what did you think?
I haven't been there. I want to one day.
@@CanobieCoaster Its a really fun coaster! Hope you go!
did you know that bat at kings island and vortex at Canada's wonderland have the same layout.
Yes
I’ve never been to Canada’s Wonderland but I noticed yes
Have you been to Calaway Park in Calgary, Alberta?
No, the lineup didn't standout to me.
@@CanobieCoaster It's an original Arrow corkscrew and couple of kiddie coasters. I don't know how it compares to other Arrow corkscrews but you've already been on one, there's no reason for a coaster enthusiast to visit the park.
Calgary, on the other hand, is a gorgeous city and is totally worth a visit.
@@jordanberndt4157 It’s the only theme park in the whole city.
Not going to lie, the beginning is correct but you happened to choose the least canadian Tim hortons to put in the shot ... and niagara falls is my home town lmao...
My fiancee still loved it.
Wow, I didn't realize how bad the rides at Canada were.
There's too much junk out there aside from Vampire, Goliath, Yukon Striker, Behemoth, and Leviathan. Kind of sad tbh.
They have some very good rides at the top.
Yukon striker at number 6? In my opinion Yukon Striker is at the very top for me tied with behemoth and leviathan. Those 3 are my favourites
Yukon Striker is really good. I just prefer those ahead of it.
@@CanobieCoaster I respect your opinion :) The ones ahead of it look really fun too. I’ve been on all the rides from Canada’s Wonderland in this video since that’s my home park. The other rides I’d love to go on one day. I’m a ride warrior and I go to Canada’s wonderland a lot. My dream is to get on as many rides as possible, more in Canada and worldwide hopefully! 🎢
Why am I the only one who really likes the Wonderland Woodies 😩
nope, I like them too, don't get the hate tbh
Wonderland's wooden coasters are pretty fun for me, as long as you ride in the front.
I agree, they're good up front. But they're brutal anywhere else.
#TheyAreAllUnderrated
You’re not alone. I am the only one in my family who loves Minebuster. I don’t like Wilde Beast, but I really like Minebuster.
Coaster is scary!! What about Corkscrew at PNE Playland in Vancouver?
That one was closed when I was there.
@@CanobieCoaster guess you’ll have to return to Vancouver and review the updated rides!
I thought the parks kiddie coaster Kettle Creek Mine Train was better than Corkscrew
Is the Beast (Kings Island), a credit of yours yet? Bonus points for a night ride...
Yes, I just rode it again earlier today.
@@CanobieCoaster Timing is everything isn't it? GRATZ!!!
My favourites are
5#thunder run
4#minebuster
3#backlot
2#leviathen
1#vortex
Surprised Behemoth isn't there.
What do you think? Would you like to go to La Ronde again? And imagine riding again those four coasters at the park:
Goliath
Vampire
Ednör
Le Monstre
I would go back there. I'd prioritize the B&Ms.
Alternate title: la ronde + wonderland + 5 rides
Lol
So basically the entire country of Canada sucks for amusement parks, save for Canada's Wonderland and La Ronde. Thanks for the heads-up. :)
PNE Playland and Galaxyland each have an elite coaster though.
Monstre looks like a worse version that Wildebeast
It's a slow, shaky ride.
What do you mean by “the ladder”?
The latter, the later of the things I mentioned.
Oh ok
I've only been to wonderland so pretty much anything that's not in Ontario
Canada's Wonderland has a great lineup at least.
In this video, there was no Boomerang at La Ronde. So what do you think?
It's not one of the better boomerangs.
Monstre looks massive
Sure is!
Haven't been on any of the coasters, but I've discovered in the past week that I think Tim Hortons is my absolute favorite coffee ☕ 😋 it is so good!!!
My fiancee loves their coffee. That was the highlight of our Niagara Falls trip for her.
I hate coffee, but the drinks I do drink like hot chocolate are fantastic at Tim Horton’s. I love that place.
@@CanobieCoaster oh man. You must have spent a bit too much time in the tourist town. I like the falls a lot, but I get it.
Yukon is so much better than Goliath and behemoth, also I prefer monster over mine buster because mine buster has no airtime and is so shaky
I prefer the hypers, but I do like Yukon.
Did you just call Behemoth and Goliath “B&M... Mega Coasters”?
Is there really a difference between a hyper and a mega?
@@mitchellries256 not really besides the heights
They’re B&M Hypers. Goliath is a Mini Hyper coz it’s less than 200 feet but it’s still a Hyper just like Leviathan, Fury. hollywood dream, and 🧅
Yes, since Goliath technically is under 200 feet. I know B&M calls all their mega coasters hyper coasters, but I just went with mega coasters.
@@CanobieCoaster i know but behemoth is 230 feet.
So what are your Bottom 20 Roller Coasters in Canada?
Flight Deck is at the bottom.
Leviathan ISS on the bucket list
As it should.
@@CanobieCoaster indeeeed

Nice!
Google Calaway park and see their "rollercoaster" lineup. Have pity on us, they barely have any flat rides for people above the age of 10.
The lack of major rides is why I've never made it there.
i went in the monster lol it was so high fast bumpy
It's bumpy, but bearable.
@@CanobieCoaster ye true

I gotta disagree with the top ranking, I rank leviathan at number 1 and coaster at number 2
To each their own. I love Coaster.

In this video, there were no:
Bat at Canada's Wonderland
Boomerang at La Ronde
Flight Deck at Canada's Wonderland
Ednör at La Ronde
So if I ask you, why?
Because they are rough.
I was asking you if would you ride again:
Boomerang at La Ronde
Ednor at La Ronde
Flight Deck at Canada's Wonderland
What do you think and why?
Boomerang is...
Ednor is...
Flight Deck is...
Ednor and Flight Deck are super rough. Boomerang is a clone and not the smoothest.
