#12 STEVE SMITH WAS SO UNDERRATED. ALOT OF PEOPLE DIDNT REALIZE HOW GOOD THIS GUY WAS, HE MADE GREAT CUTS HAD GREAT HANDS AND WAS FEARLESS GOING ACROSS THE MIDDLE. ELIL LED HIM INTO BIG HITS A LOT AND HE WOULD CONTINUE TO PLAY AND PLAY HARD. HE MADE SOME BIG PLAYS IN THAT SUPERBOWL WIN TOO... TOO BAD HUS CAREER ENDED SO SOON.
If he didn't get injured back in 2010 against the Vikings, he would still be with the Giants right now, he was a monster WR. Cruz, Smith, Beckham, and Shepard? That would be so awesome if we had that. #NYG4LIFE
lol Eli use to throw cross the middle into triple coverage like Steve didn't have a wife a kid to go home to... but on a serious note, the Eli/Steve connection kept me happy during some dark seasons for the Giants.
I use to love this Steve smith, the play on 1:47 was my favorite play. Only if he would've listen to the Giants doctors. Even he say that he should've listen to them. So sad that players like him, Nicks and other Giants players career end so short
Like others stated, it was due to injuries, I love Eli trust me, but you can't say that. He was an absolute possession receiver, just look at the plays he gets bodied and still manages to hold onto that ball. Sure I give Eli credit for throwing those accurate passes but isn't that why we pay him 17m? Let's say we had a guy like Aaron rogers, do you think smiths numbers would drop?
No. What is without his recievers? did you see what he was in 2013? before odell got there? eli is nothing without his receivers. He played with great receivers.
2 slot wrs loved smith but Def take Cruz and his big play ability to me our best wr group was Nicks, cruz, Manningham. Anyone notice the wrs that leave the giants never go far then look at tight end... ballard, boss, Donnell, and many others just disappeared
The most important forgotten play in that winning Super Bowl drive was Smith tiptoeing down the sideline on 3rd down to pick up the first down on the play before the winner to Plaxico.
JR gets a lot of hate by Giants fans, but so many of the talented players he brought here had their careers derailed by injuries. And injuries are still hurting the Giants. John Mara needs to finally make a good decision and change the training staff
Giants had a real good crop of young WRs that all had careers cut short by knee injuries. Smith, Hakeem Nicks, Victor Cruz... then you have other players like David Wilson and Kenny Phillips, quite a few just broke down. These guys disintegrating and then drafting a bunch of bum offensive linemen really put the Giants where they are now. But man, SS sure could run routes
Probably the most underrated receiver in Giants history

Eli loved the dude, he gave Eli alot of confidence his rookie year. Injuries slowed him down but he was the best route runner in the game....
Dam we used to have a really good receiving core. Nicks, manningham, and smith. Then Cruz, nicks, and manningham. Good times
Wanye Kest now OBJ, Marshall, and Sheppard. Don't forget Plax, Toomer, and Smith too.

Jake Ballard at TE also. Eli's career, good as it was, would have been that much better.
@@mitchellbaker9434 Oh yeah, he’s a beast for sure. Especially against the Patriots and the Cowboys game.

Eli stay doing that to his WR's lmao.
Steve Smith, excellent route runner, excellent hands, quiet but feisty and he had that amazing un-teachable feel for the passing game.
One of the best route runners the giants ever had and was great getting open with those double moves.
I don't know what he is up to today, but the giants should consider hiring this dude as a WR coach. He knows all the little tricks in how to get open.
Shiftiness/quickness off the charts with that release. Route running savant.
This guy knew how to run routes sooo good and still was good in his rookie year and he was the best at route running.
Steve Smith was very very good.. injuries shortened a promising career..
I use to love this Steve smith, the play on 1:47 was my favorite play. Only if he would've listen to the Giants doctors. Even he say that he should've listen to them. So sad that players like him, Nicks and other Giants players career end so short
Eli and him lived off that route. Niks,Cruz,Shockey,Wilson smh all horrible injuries.
What a smart, sure handed, and great route runner he was. Was a short career but a good one.
Man I miss him...Damn near every catch was on 3rd down...All he did was move the chains
+paperchaser1200 cause of eli. What did he do after he left the giants?
Like others stated, it was due to injuries, I love Eli trust me, but you can't say that. No. What is without his recievers? did you see what he was in 2013? before odell got there? eli is nothing without his receivers. He played with great receivers.
In his short prime, he was the most dominant slot receiver in the league. Him Nicks and Manningham were a nice combination.
12 13 and 80 would've been an amazing thing
Never would've happened.
2 slot wrs loved smith but Def take Cruz and his big play ability to me our best wr group was Nicks, cruz, Manningham. Anyone notice the wrs that leave the giants never go far then look at tight end... ballard, boss, Donnell, and many others just disappeared
Naw odell Suck

I can’t believe he’s still at the top for that single season receptions record. That’s a record OBJ should’ve gotten
Got a Super Bowl his rookie year with Plaxico,Toomer, and added stats to the Giants record books.
One of the best route runners & had some great hand. Best route was that one against Dallas....
Thank you Steve Smith. Gave this a thumb up despite the soundtrack, which I was compelled to mute.
This guy would devour in Daboll’s offense
The most important forgotten play in that winning Super Bowl drive was Smith tiptoeing down the sideline on 3rd down to pick up the first down on the play before the winner to Plaxico.
True but that 4&1 by Brandon Jacobs
I miss smith, nicks, and the good ol' days!
3rd and Steve Smith
3rd down god.
He runs like a madden receiver such a consistent stride
I still have his Jersey, very underrated WR...
Ahhh the good old days
JR gets a lot of hate by Giants fans, but so many of the talented players he brought here had their careers derailed by injuries. And injuries are still hurting the Giants. John Mara needs to finally make a good decision and change the training staff
ELI GETTING IT DONE AFFORDED TIME ON THE POCKET
the Sterling Sheppard of his generation. (and he did fly to eagles-interception off his hands near end zone on first play versus giants)
Top 5 route runner in giants history 💯
Underrated for sure

Smith, Hakeem Nicks, Victor Cruz... then you have other players like David Wilson and Kenny Phillips, quite a few just broke down. But man, SS sure could run routes
He won on the same route starting at 1:49 smh i dont miss Gilbride offense at all.
Smith was a Cowboy Killer 12 🤷🏼🤔😂
who's better?
Steve Smith or the other Steve Smith
***** this steve smith is better. first down machine on third
+Vince Moscar who was he without eli? after he left he never did anything. When he went to the eagles he didnt have good production.
pretty sure the injuries did him in. he wasnt the same player in philly
He is underrated
notice no highlights of him on the iggles
He scored a TD on the Giants while playing for the Eagles
2:18 is a highlight vs the iggles
Came here just for 1:47 one of the coldest routes
Once he joined the Eagles, I could care less about the man.
But yeah, it was fun while it lasted, Steve. #Traitor
Can we Call him up Our WR Core Stinks lol
Smith was nice!!!!! Hands was all that but, no real speed.
Eli has a howitzer
1:51 was dirty
Yeah then he went to philly and became a nobody
He was hurt. Never recovered from the injury.
wish he could have stayed healthy
I was looking for the better Steve Smith
Shouldn't have clicked on the video with a Giant WR on it then.
At this point of their careers, this is the better Steve Smith.
Steve could catch, but never ran aw as y ftom a soul. Lol.
me to
I liked smith but when he went to the egals he career was done. Should of stayed with eli
Wow the fake Steve smith 👍 go Ravens
Fuck the Ravens
