May I know whether a snapshot can grow beyond the original VM disk allocated to the VM. In your case, it was 90GB. Any time, does the snapshot and VM usage grows beyond the hard disk allocated ?
If we take snapshot name sn1 then we restored that snapshot and after restore is done if we delete sn1 snapshot is there going to be any issue since we r using sn1 snapshot in vm
No autodelete option for snapshots. If you keep for longer duration, it consumes more space in datastore and also impacts the performance of the vm aswell
Great work! I was wondering, if it would be possible to complete the snapshot process through bash(without GUI). If you have any experience or material on this, please share
i have a doubt please answer it .... i have taken first snapshot and updated patch it failed and then reverted but snapshot not deleted. and then done the same thing for three snapshots. after reverting to third snapshot. the vm is running in old state before patching... but now if i delete three snapshots what will the state of vm ... it will be in the same state as now right ?...
Thank you!, good explanation. if possible can you go more deep in snapshot like pid cid mapping. What is one of the snapshot got deleted how to link with pid and all

How we reslove consolidation error ( mismatch of CID )..

Deleting the snapshot doesn't change the state of the vm. If you delete the snapshot, vm will be in same state as what is currently.
Can we also have Deep Dive videos of DRS and HA

@@VMwareArenavideos I am looking forward for deep dive videos of HA and DRS. Your videos are really informative.
Is there a performance penalty for using a snapshot vs not?
Yes , if we are keeping it for longer time. It is recommended to keep snapshots lesser than 2 days.
