Most people would think they've made in life if they could afford to own and run the tender.
the front tender is a proper 68 feet 3 deck catamaran jet yacht a respectable yacht for any multi millionaire put in perspective how insane the main one is super yachts are getting so big there more like a cruise liner then a yacht at this point its has lhd like ability with its hanger and aircraft this thing if converted could actually be a proper long range explorer naval ship
@@patthonsirilim5739 I have the feeling that sometime in the not-too-distant future, somebody is going to buy a decommissioned carrier and refurbish it as their personal yacht.
@@dmannevada5981 I don't see that happening as you would basically have to strip it down to the hull and build it back up. Better to commission a shipyard that builds carriers to build you a giga-yacht based on the basic carrier chassis. Yes, I do think someone will end up doing something just like that in the next 50 years given the way these large corporations just keep getting larger and larger. Which means the money supply for the toys isn't stopping any time soon.
I was quite pleased when I got a used kayak. Imagine how rich I'd feel with a paddleboard.
"Why buy one when you can buy two at twice the price?"
Jinisinsane actually he saved quite a lot by building at Kleven instead of building at a bespoke gig yacht shipyard like lurssen. They built Ulysses and andromeda based on a commercial naval design and saved much money on the construction as well since the interior was not as handcrafted as usual yachts but was more done to a commercial standard more seen on cruise ships.

Beat me
@@chuntley83 but the refitting gonna cost a lot right
REGARD totally depends which country it takes place in; the shipyard and what they refit. Things like adding a new shell door at the waterline cost a fortune which Luna had done when she changed owners but changing the carpet in the interior is almost incomparable
Burger Boat Company built 2 identical yachts for a Russian billionaire. He kept one in the Carribean and one in the Mediterean. They had to be identical so he knew where everything was on each vessel!
I've heard of guys doing with apartments and even houses, but not yachts, WOW.
Makes you wonder how many people died so that Russian oligarch can have his billions..
JJ Thomas How much propoganda has to be created to convince people this is a normal part of our system, even while his Russian countrymen are suffering.
Interesting story about the two yachts but what was even more interesting for me was the catamaran tender with 4 quad jet motors. I would really like to see a review on that and a tour in one of your up and coming videos. It would have been nice if you mentioned who built it. 👍🏻
"My yacht is soooo big that her tender has a tender."
A 57ft Yacht used to be on the top deck, it was a navy blue hanse 575. But they took it out because it took too long to assemble (putting the mast on etc). They sold it to another guy, who then sold it to my dad. We had it for a year and it was awesome, we sailed everywhere and it was such a cool boat and I wish we still had it. Just imagine lmao he had a 57ft hanse on the top deck. lol
I know people that live on a 60 foot yacht, the fact someone used one slightly smaller as a tender is a major flex lol
60' long tender? That's just friggin' insane!
I find expedition yachts extra fascinating.
there actually very good value for money. I heard this owners tend to bring research teams onboard to accompany them to do some research. Paul Allen had a yatch that was used to find sunken ww2 japanese aircraft carriers. They are just awesome things. Mansions that can be used for purpose.
They’re both stunning!!! I really like the expedition yacht look myself.
Great vid
I lightly chuckle at how "purists" moan that all fancy yachts should have a certain look or style. If you know a good designer (like the late Gerhard Gilgenast) they can design some amazingly elegant expedition vessels
@@largol33t1 Purists suck in every single way, I used to be one as well, but being shallow minded gets you no where
Fantastic job! Extremely informative! Your information is top notch!!! Thank You Sir.
I watched the broker video of this yacht probably 10 times when it was for sale. Amazing yacht! I didn't know why there were two, thanks for the video!!
Andrew Draper can you link the broker video? I can’t find it
@@bigbrycm6 ua-cam.com/video/Z4XRzCYfAY0/v-deo.html
This is one of the versions of it when it was for sale.

I shot that video for the broker 👍👍
You always produce a wonderful and informative video. Thanks so much.
Without betraying confidences - Graeme is a very keen SCUBA diver, adventure sportsman & explorer. Another of his hobbies is working on the design of Super Yachts - with designers. As he is using a yacht he is working on the designs & build of a new yacht. He generally gets his build money back selling his used yacht into the Russian market where buyers want a Ulysses type yacht but haven’t the time, desire or network to design and build their own custom yacht
Great review! I enjoy the depth of information you cover and the meters/feet conversion.
Thanks for the update...was curious about the anchor line...Thanks!!
That tender is the same design as the NZ Police vessels in both Auckland and Wellington as well as the new NZ customs vessel based in Auckland.
With all those Yatch feature in your channel this the ONE which i like most, because my dream Yacht will built base on those Offshore Expedition vessel or like an Ocean Liner.Tanx for all your upload video!
Snubber line also takes load off the hydraulic or electric windlass system.
Dive Another Day Tru dat. Not that it matters on this boat but it also keeps the noise down from the chain banging around and waking the crew.
exactly, its less of a noise & scratch issue as it is Largely- take the stress off the windlass!!
edward michaels Do you work on superyachts as well?
@@ohanabennett I do. ))
You boys leaving the windless engaged under load at anchor. Get ya shammy..
Very interesting story. Thanks for sharing.
I am glad i found your channel, verry informative and interesting.
Thank you!
I now subscribe.
Thankyou for this and all your videos. Very informative. Great work. Keep it up.
Always looking for your next video.
Zuckerburg? That pasty empty shell doesn’t belong on a yacht
Hahahaha😆
He'll need 2 essential items.
Double Security Staff.
Double Lifeguard Staff.
@@MarkH10 lmfao🤣
Love the style of the boat and the more rough and tough
Another great vid Thank you
"This is on his tender" Yea. That's how I feel watching 99% of your videos. Amazing!
Its a BEAUTIFUL yacht - i'd have this over any other megayacht, any day.
Fancy or disguised gov vessels.
the catamaran 'tender' was built in new zealand with a hydrofoil between the hulls to enable very high performance
How do they get it on board I dont see any cranes
They use a helium balloon
The other tender I saw with it is pretty incredible too, a landing craft style to transport land toys and vehicles
Finally, a video featuring a vessel I might be able to get onto one day.
...Not the yacht, the workboat near the start!
A floating mansion built like an ice breaker for smashing thru Antarctic ice! Now thats an expedition ship!
There are a lot of people in NZ who would "like to tell a story about Mr Graeme Hart" and not all of them will be "nice".
That's because Kiwis don't like people who succeed in life. The tall poppy syndrome is rife in NZ.
The snubber is for taking up shock in the chain, in a wavy condition the yacht jerks on the chain, this can cause several things one being the anchor can jerk loose. The snubber gives the chain some elasticity so there’s no jerking it also takes the strain off of the windlass.
The level of baller when you are taking your big yacht to your giant mega yacht while you are building another even bigger mega yacht. LOL
The level of Baller when you park your yacht in your mega yacht.
Good story 👍
Great research 🤙
Thanks for clearing that one up Mr Porsche lover.
What's your name anyways champ?
And just a general Question, did Mr Hart also build two (2) support vessels for Andromeda and Ulysses?
Impressive. Thanks for the video.
Enjoyed that good knowledge thanks
Thank you! I always believed that Andromeda and Ulysse was the same vessel, where Ulysse was a refit of Andromeda. These are truly interesting boats.
How do thay get the tender on and off the yacht
One other slight difference is the newer yacht Ulysses has more master bedroom windows looking out towards the bow
That's probably the coolest supper yacht I've seen on your channel.
My all time favorite yacht!!
Love the style and color
Amazing content!
Do we know or can get pic's of the new boat. would love to here more about the 2nd one. plz

Interesting. I hadn’t heard the two-boat minimum thing. You notice all the changes/improvements he made for the new boat as well - although I can’t figure how the Princess as a replacement for the Cat for the big tender makes sense. To each his own, yeah? Another amazing touch is the ‘next-size-down’ tender is a 53’ Suenos center console, a 2 million dollar boat in its own rite.
I've got two yachts also. One for the Atlantic and one for the Pacific.
You joke about that but I know people who actually do that!
A yacht so big that even it's tenders have tenders for their tenders...
Honestly, what is it about these people that feel compelled to posses these outrageously outsized insanely expensive boats? It is hard to imagine what the breathtaking overhead is on keeping and operating these behemoths!
Is it possible to get a video of the Andromeda and its sister boat side by side??
Very interesting super yacht 🛳 I would love it if your videos were a bit longer if possible please? Looking forward to seeing new channel 👍🏼
Paul Mace its more of a slideshow with audio than a video.
i think o saw the one sold, in Ibiza. but again it can b checked online
How do you launch the tender from the bow?
I know im late but great channel!
One day we will see a 400 meter Mega-yacht with a 100 meter Super-tender/Lifeboat, like the "Buquebus Francisco" super-ferry (capacity for 1000 passengers, 150 cars, many onboard ammenities, and a top speed of 58.1 kn with just fuel, or 51.8 knots fully loaded), Which will in turn have a 25 meter tender, which will in turn have a small boat like the Merry Fisher 605 just because.
2:45 Aaaaaah ! get that alien out of my face!
That large tender appears to really be a luxury escape boat with a military looking exterior.
Great video
How do they get the Tender boat up there?
How do they load and offload the smaller boat ?
very interesting mate
That, kids, is how you become salesman of the year at Kleven!
5:04 for those asking about the tender; a foldable crane either end of it to move it to and from the water.
there are not many knuckle boom cranes out there that can lift that much that could fit on a yacht. if it is I bet they were custom made. the other thing is you would have to have two of them but I can only see one on the ship.
@@LKN117 There is two of them.
At the time stamp I mentioned there are folded cranes either end of the tender on the deck of the yacht.
Finally, somebody found my yacht. It had been missing 4 months.
This Ship is definitely the coolest thing on the water 😎
great vid
Does it have some hidden huge crane to load and unload that tender or does it have to visit a harbor to unload it?
Yes it uses a double crane system to lift the boat.
Looking a bit closer I see them. A bit unusual with all the toys in the front.
Brilliant
How do they get the little boat in the water
How do they deploy the tender? Is there a crane on the front deck?
There are actually two cranes on the foredeck.
LOVE THEM
Hi mate, U116 is 116m long, hence the pre-name. I worked on it in Bremerhaven 👍
Awesome ship.
Does the tender have a tender?
How do y’all launch that “tender”?!?!?
Amazing
Owner is quite clever there, he can sell it and someone will either buy it, or is obligated to buy two just like he did. These guys are living the best life, i would think😄
Is that a tender on the back? or is it a submarine?
I'm digging the steel hull
I work at one of the companies he owns here in Waynesville, NC USA.
That's crazy, I was just thinking if I had a yacht I would name it Andromeda, then I clicked on this!
How do you get a tender that size on and off the bow of that ship.?
The bow will open up so the tender can just float in.
2 Huge ass cranes unfold and pick it up
YZFR1mart ???
dnoginizr4 is right.
You can see at 5:04 there's folded cranes either end of the tender.
@@YZFR1mart what part of the "bow" didn't you understand?
It must have the world's strongest yacht davit to get that huge tender on and off the bow
when you say the tender I was like ok the orange rib? And then me :holy shit
They say it’s bad luck to change the name of a boat but he seems to be doing ok
This is a proper yacht that could go anywhere. Those fiberglass dinghies the italians make are only viable on the mediterranean.
Can the smaller yacht handle the same size helicopters?
So how does he (the crew), get the tender down? It also seems to sit pretty low on the deck...
February 12, 2020... ANDROMEDA.....Currently docked in San Diego, California.
Very interesting
How does he get that huge tender, catamaran up onto the bow. No visible crane in site ????
The cranes lay down.
“one for my baby and one more for the road”
My favorite yachts ever. A boat within a boat lol
How do they launch that tender?
Was curious about that myself, it turns out that the tender gets lifted from the side into the belly by 2 cranes. And then I learned that this ship has it's own landing craft. So, just load some motorbikes and/or cars, get to shore and roll them out.
I'm flabbergasted.
the idea from the designers point is that as far as ships go, its so complicated to design one, so, these companies build more then one on the same blue prints, the titanic had 2 sister ships, standard operating procedures for most ship building companies,
A superior world vessel
Loved Andromeda for years, would you say these vessels can cope with even the roughest sea conditions, bearing in mind their builder
it only takes one idiot to pull the plug and it'll go down as fast - if not faster - than any other ship. LOL.
@@team3383 quite a ridiculous comment
@@leehagan1375 But a true fact. Humor isn't in your 'repertoire'. You must be one of those real "Menschen" that crave for landslides, bad weather and stormy seas so you may show the other mere mortals how manly you are by walking around in shorts and a T-shirt taking it all head on. LOL.
Any chance you can get your hands on the GA for Ulysses? Could be interesting to see the difference between this and Andromeda.
I did a video with the GA of Andromrda.
@@eSysmanSuperYachts Yep, and really enjoyed that. Could be fun to see the difference though - between the two.
if you can buy a ship like this, you outfit 7 - 8 gatling guns on each side of the vessel and sell tickets for a big game hunt
then you sail to Somalia
Most dangerous game type beat
How do they get the tender on and off?
They have two massive cranes on the bow section. I made a video showing them recovering one of their boats using one of those cranes. ua-cam.com/video/bfsUe0Gpmx0/v-deo.html
they have a passing resemblance, but once you look at them closely they're quite different.
That tender !!!!!
