I (an INFP) actually had something similar going on at work yesterday, but instead of being told that I’d have children someday, a customer (an older man) was telling me that I’d get married someday, and he definitely made it sound like it would happen soon. Now as sweet as that was, I gave up on that fantasy of getting married earlier this year (and gave up on the idea of having children because I don’t do well with romantic relationships and because I finally accepted that I need to work on taking care of myself). While I wouldn’t have corrected a total stranger about that assumption, I especially didn’t want to correct him because the interaction while I was helping him find a gift for his wife was just so positive that I felt like me correcting him would’ve ruined the vibe. The intention was well meaning and as I was thinking about it, I came to the conclusion that he made that comment because he thought I was a good person who deserved a good marriage which even though I will never get married, it still made me feel nice for the rest of the evening 😊

As an istp. After a long time thinking about it I believe the benifits outweigh the cons. Yes, the first 15 years are gonna be..kinda sketchy. But after the child phase you will have people who can take care of you once you break both your arms and legs and need a little bit of help. Set them up for success the best way you can and you have someone who can help support you in your old age. Just make sure you don't make them hate you. I also understand not everyone is able to mentally hold up to kids for that long. Don't do it if you're not willing to put the effort in to make them great.

When I was a young teen even I didn't wanted to have kids but as I matured I realised that many things which we belived the edginess an all was gone and what we have won't last forever. It's better to have people during time of your death than die lonely. I recently saw a grandma unmarried. She was a feminist. Until her 40's she was like I don't need a man nor kids. She grew older and older. Her parents died and now she couldn't pay for her medical bills, all alone, siblings dead and their children hate her since she'd always speak feminist shit. During her last moments in ventilator she said her last words (We didn't knew it'd be her last words until morning when she died) Those words were "Only if I could had turned into a young girl, would had rejected feminism and shit I'd have had a beautiful family husband and kids to take care of me, it hurts to die lonely and alone being abandoned and rejected by entire world " We comforted her tho but she was still sad. Few people from our building felt sympathy and visited her. Everytime someone visited her she fell into tears and repeated that only if she'd had married and had kids, only if she could turn once again or God will give her chance again. I'm not attached or anything but that's when my bubble of not having kids living with my pets was gone and I realised that trials an tribulations are needed for humans and so is love in life. Especially for me having a wife and a child as an ISTP man
You want to have kids so that you can have free maids and butlers when you grow old? In that case make sure you don't tell them that and instead raise them to be great people. Humans naturally strive for what they dont have. If they know that when they're older you're going to give them an emotional obligation to take care of you then that will diminish their sense of freedom (which is what 99% of children like about growing up) and they will most likely try to avoid you.

Reproduction is a form of species of conservation. A child doesn't have to give their parents anything for raising them as the childs existence alone is a gift in the form of your bloodline carrying on. They can if they're a good person, but that depends on the child, not the parents expectations.
