Matt Bellamy's father is George Bellamy of The Tornadoes and their hit Telstar. George was a guitarist, so you can see where Matt Bellamy got some of his influences. The interlude that they played in the middle before the final breakdown is based on Rachmaninoff's prelude in G minor, one of Matt's favorite pieces, just slowed down and played on guitar. So yeah, you guys were right that Muse gets a lot of influence in their music from classical.

The break down in the middle is called the Grand Omega Boss, its not on the studio version but is a beast live

Cheers fellas for picking up this suggestion - I'm made up that you liked it. There are a few other tracks from that gig I've seen knocking around youtube and they are all great - I was going to recommend Stockholm syndrome but just realized the full gig is there, so if you want something to pass some time rather than having to react to it or whatever, it could be worth checking out, even if as a contrast to the massive arena stuff in most other videos of them since about 2004. Anyway, I thoroughly enjoyed watching you watch this. Thanks.

So Matt uses a pedal board onstage, and then there is an exact replica linked to it which his guitar tech controls. The guitar tech will hit the pedals if Matt is running about the stage. Or at least that is how they did it a few tours ago. If you fancy checking out another band with some insane guitar playing wizardry, dare I say even more so than Matt (that pains me as a lifelong Muse fan), check out Polyphia. Their songs G.O.A.T, O.D & 40oz have some of the hardest guitar riffs that I think have ever been created.

For Chicago songs I would suggest either 25 Or 6 To 4, or Feeling Stronger Every Day they are both great songs. Good advice can't beat a bit of back door crumpet, he should supply his own butter though

@@TheThamesmen Google "Morgan Nicholls Muse" He was replaced in more recent years and the unseen member has now become more visible (although Morgan also became more prominant in his later years with the band.) But when you comment on hearing music that isn't being played by the 3. It's because the 4th member is a master of many instuments and especially the synths. All 4 were always on stage tho (from about 2005) It's just Morgan was always in the shadows.
