    A great informative video. Thanks for sharing it with us! My wife bought me one of these for Xmas, although I am a (very young) 69 year old!. I've never had so much fun in all my life. I'm just starting to practice indoors and am just getting the hang of its characteristics before I go outside with it. I've flown (real) single engine fixed wing, and I have two model RC fixed wing aircraft, but this is so much more fun. You explain things very well and concise. So much better than the manual that came with it. Well done.

    When you're flying this drone, don't you hear such an "ultrasound"? I mean, a very sharp sound. Do you know why?
    Great job, our review helped me :)

    one more thing can u charge the battery in the regular wall outlet or the voltage is too high destroying your battery? thanks for the info, appreciate it

      The battery charger is USB, so if you have a USB mains adapter ("wall wart"), you can recharge the battery that way if you'd like.

    Best vid for new X4 users. Wish I saw this earlier before crashing into things. It's my first quadcopter.

    I get at least 10 minutes of flight time with mine and if the led's start flashing I have about 1-2 minutes to bring it back in. But I have a standard camera model. I did mange to take mine out of range today there was a little bit of wind and I couldn't see which way it was facing while flying it really high not sure how high as it is so small so hard to estimate, so ended up flying it further away from me opps. Fell a very long way tumbled for a while then levelled out before hitting the ground on grass. No damage at all 👍🏻 and I still had the footage to watch after as I managed to find it before it died flashing led's helped with this. Brilliant Video I might add.

      Thanks for sharing. Ten minutes is a good amount of flight time. It's been my experience that the batteries don't last for many cycles, unfortunately, but they aren't too terribly costly to replace either (although it probably does add up over time). Keep that thing within radio range and line-of-sight, and it should serve you well.

    That isn't a "mode 2" controller - read the manual dude! You can switch between modes 1 & 2 with a simple routine that takes a few seconds.

    • @Browningate
      @Browningate  9 років тому +2

      Spreadie
      I'm not so sure about that. The vertical axis of the left analog stick on a mode 2 is not springloaded. If you could just switch it around, it would be easy to lose your quadcopter because it (that is the right analog stick on a mode 2) would naturally jump to half throttle if you weren't holding it down.

      Fair enough :-). That said, I do believe I dwelt on it for a minimal amount of time, and I didn't even pretend to be taking it out of the package for the first time.

    Holy cow,I had no idea it would go so high,I've flown mine in the house and it seems to take a lot of throttle to get it 4 feet high but then it does seem to want to really take off,as you say,visibility is key and you must have eyes like an eagle to see it at the height you got there!😉

      A calm day and careful control (and sometimes sunglasses depending on how bright it is) are a must for maintaining control at high altitudes like that. If you lose visual contact or control of it for even a second or two, that could be the end of it. Also, don't do what I did and fly it where there is a fairly narrow line of sight with tall trees on one side and a house on the other (I've had two crash landings/close calls flying from where the footage in the video was shot); instead, take it to a wide-open field because the margin for error will be much larger and you'll actually have a chance of finding it if you do crash land. I've not lost mine yet but have had far too many close calls.

      ***** got you dude,I thought flying something tiny like this would be extremely risky at altitude,I know from my job when you get 10+ feet of the ground the wind begins to increase dramatically on open ground,obviously these will be extremely susceptible to even a breeze.I've already lost my e flyer phoenix like that so thanks for the advice.😉

    can u put a bigger battery in it like 500mah to get a extra minutes of flight?

    • @Browningate
      @Browningate  9 років тому

      +Richie Bata
      Yes. The blue battery featured in the video has more mil-amp power than the stock battery and gives in an extra minute or two of flight time. It does take much longer to recharge, but it appears to be able to operate for more cycles before wearing out.

      ***** you can buy the batteries on eBay real cheap from china. less than 2.00 each. I love the hubsan I learned with it and it took some serious abuse. I did need to change a few motors. I bought the 2mp versions and now that I know how to fly i never crash it so it should last a long time.
