Very good beginner guide, you explain well and also give lots of tips. 🙂
I agree with you, it's mainly about finding out for yourself what supplies you like and being able to and wanting to practice a lot.
Where the materials are fun and not so intimidating.
For me, these sets with small tubes are good starting sets too.
Lots of colors and small quantities, which are enough to try them out briefly to see if you like them, if not then there is hardly any color left that is unused.
Paint can always be bought later, but getting rid of it is more time-consuming.
I hope you all have a nice 2024 🥳
That Daler Rowney paint set was my first ever paint set. Worked great! I use Apple Barrel acrylics now.
Thank you so much. I’m all about budget!
Me too!!
"Actual Footage" Brilliant, thanks for making me giggle helplessly on a cold rainy afternoon in Yorkshire. Where can I get one of those microphones!!!!
I'm glad you liked it! It's a hardware store paintbrush with a lavalier mic taped to the back of it with painter's tape. 😂
No, I did not, you can be completely worry-free. 😅
A few weeks ago last year, my latest buy of Acyl paints was around €7 on a pack of Talens Art Creation acrylic paints 5x75ml at a Dutch discount store called Action.
These usually cost twice as much in art shops here, and I hope we can still buy them there, the quality is pretty good for the money.
That’s awesome! What a find! ❤️❤️
I bought like the liquitex 6 colors DrawingWiffWaffles used in one of her acrylic videos when they were on sale at Michaels, some cheapass brushes I already had, and... whatever paper I could find in my room. (Watercolor paper/Sketchbook). I also have a large amount of old apple barrel paints from Walmart... I bought them because they were pretty colors and never use them. 😂
I have definitely been tempted by those beautiful brush displays in stores and wanted to buy some of those expensive brushes. I was just browsing some yesterday. I find that no matter how well I feel I look after my brushes and try and keep them clean, I still manage to kill many with crusty paint. I can not justify it at the moment. I did buy some more expensive ones last year for oil painting and they did leave a lot of mess on the canvas. There was stray hairs but also a lot of 'dust' I guess. I wasn't really happy with them.
Omg! That happened to me too! The brush literally fell apart as I used it. I was pissed! Lol. I’ll never part with my crusty paint brushes. I keep all of them. 💜
I’m just curious why you’re talking into a paint brush? It’s cute, I just wondered.
There are actually a few practical reasons for it, but I’m not quite ready to share them yet. Maybe someday! 💜 I’m glad you think it’s cute though.
=)
