get the giggles from anxiety just watching... my fav pic of laird is him surfing with the shark... right standing next to him on a wave... almost riding his board.. kisses x
These guys, esp. Laird of course, are my heroes. I'm 58, rehabing a wrecked shoulder; it's been boogey only for me for years. We used to fantasize giant waves. Remember that 60's surf poster called "incredible Journey"? It was a graphic of this guy, looking v. tiny, carving a right bottom turn at the base of this 120+' pitching tube. A 1985 Honolulu Advertiser edition had a front page photo of Laird dropping in at 3rd Reef Pipeline (he was towed by a Zodiac). That's what it looked like.
Just read Susan Casey's book while in Maui (sadly in June = no big waves). Great book! Got my adrenal glands going just reading about it. Keep on surfin' dudes!!!
I've personally never even seen a wave that was more than a foot above me standing at full height, so no more than about 7 feet. I cant even imagine waves like these.
Laird's on first part of video, then we cut in other clips/surfers...you can recognize Laird if you know his style...reg. foot...rides biggest, gnarlyest waves too.
We loved the music...not the same old thrash rock overload. Turn the music/sound down & put on your own track, or just make your own video...the music in this vid fits perfectly...well edited.
men did u see the power off those waves...incredible...it's so strong that u don't sink u get suck and then spit from it....it's need lots of corage to do it....i admire those guys that do that. i could never go to a see like that!...peace out
I'd be scared to shit if I'd ever ride those, and at the same time I'm almost crying because of their beauty. If I have to take weird looking cloth bags to the supermarket to save the seas I will
Shure it is shalow. Is possible to observe one wave that rebounded on the sea floor...! This is for professionals! How fast can they go while riding that bigger ones?
Directors/Editors don't shoot film/tape fool...they put it together so it's entertaining and/or tells a story. Drugs are everywhere, so what? Laird rocks!
Surf wipeouts are gnarlier than skate and snowboard wipeouts when at this scale, a few of those waves, if you were to bail, youd die. Big waves weigh hundreds of tons, not to mention that they hold you under water for a long time and also not to mention that you could get slammed into a reef under the water, which is a common occurrence.
if you get hit with the lip of waves this big, they can easily snap your femur into tiny bits. keep in mind the femur is the 2nd strongest bone in your body.
thanks dude, but i really like the music and the way it fits the clips...you have my permission to turn the sound off and put on whatever sounds floats yur board.
thanx...an edit exercise w/ Antonella's music...something new for surfing i think...? not thrash/metal but dats cool too....it felt more cinematic to me at the time. -miki
They get outside by going around the peaks, usually there is a channel...just follow the rip out. When you wipe out...hold your breath and prepare for a ride in a big washing machine.
that bg n those blue, ocean waters r just simply a thing of beauty.
get the giggles from anxiety just watching... my fav pic of laird is him surfing with the shark... right standing next to him on a wave... almost riding his board.. kisses x
PHENOMENAL! Nothing less then breathtaking! So much raw energy in those waves...and they seem to just float/glide above it all! VERY impressive!
Few have done more for the evolution of surfing than Laird. He is a living legend
"Ipnotica magnetica" Ruggiero singing

There is none better...best surf vid i have seen on here.

Laird's on first part of video, then we cut in other clips/surfers...you can recognize Laird if you know his style...reg. foot...rides biggest, gnarlyest waves too.

Holy crap....hey, if you're gonna do it, do it big huh.
men did u see the power off those waves...incredible...it's so strong that u don't sink u get suck and then spit from it....it's need lots of corage to do it....i admire those guys that do that. i could never go to a see like that!...peace out
Hold breath, don't panic, ignore pain, think of home.
Laird Hamilton is the greatest surfer ever
well.. i dunno which would go first but i think the wave crushing you against a reef would be a cause of death too.
wow these are some serious waves! did these guys survive the falls? what kind of injuries did they get?
I'd be scared to shit if I'd ever ride those, and at the same time I'm almost crying because of their beauty.
If I have to take weird looking cloth bags to the supermarket to save the seas I will
Antonella Ruggiero, CD "Sospesa", trk is "Ipnotica magnetica"...may be hard to find...? ...cool italiano musica.

Ipnotica Magnetica
does anybody know the song( the first one?) Its so wonderfull!!!!!!!! please tell me, if you know.
Directors/Editors don't shoot film/tape fool...they put it together so it's entertaining and/or tells a story. Drugs are everywhere, so what? Laird rocks!
This man got balls !
laird is a God amongst all surfers!
damn some of those wipeouts were BAD
Surf wipeouts are gnarlier than skate and snowboard wipeouts when at this scale, a few of those waves, if you were to bail, youd die. Antonella Ruggiero "Ipnotica magnetica" from Sospesa. Nice change from thrash metal junk usually put behind surf vids.
if you get hit with the lip of waves this big, they can easily snap your femur into tiny bits. keep in mind the femur is the 2nd strongest bone in your body.

Is that Bohdi? the Bohdisattva? He's a real searcher
This vid is a metaphor for "walking the razor's edge." He needs to stay in physical and mental balance.
laird hamilton rockz!!!!!!!!!!
they actually go thru underwater training in pipeline.
RIP Andy Irons.
They get outside by going around the peaks, usually there is a channel...just follow the rip out. When you wipe out...hold your breath and prepare for a ride in a big washing machine.
the best of the best
wath is the name of the song?????
(the girl song)
LOL THAT SONG
Antonella Ruggiero, "Ipnotica magnetica" from Sospesa
Poseidon DOES exist. His name is Laird Hamilton.
